The only thing I remember is I went. I will never forget my experience with The Jackson Clinic @ Brambleton. Although you are assigned your personal therapist (Jack Duvall) who will also assign you to a exercise specialist, the ENTIRE staff works together to make your time with them as pleasant as possible. They take their responsibilities seriously and it shows it's not just a job to them. How can a group of people be that happy all the time!!!!Maybe they are the ones being paid $1,000000!!! Please do not come here if you're looking for TMJ relief…read more I was initially so excited to find a clinic that treated TMJ patients AND accepted insurance, which is a very rare combination if you've been trying to find TMJ treatment. I was desperate to feel better, so I ignored some of my initial concerns and kept making the 45-minute drive through rush hour because I really hoped something would come from this. The actual PT was nice, but I only had about 20 minutes of direct time with her before being given a long list of exercises to complete with the exercise assistants. If I was confused about an exercise, experiencing something that didn't feel right, or had a question about what I was supposed to be feeling, it was difficult to get the PT's attention because she was already moving on to her next patient. The assistants were also responsible for so many patients that it often felt like there simply wasn't enough time for anyone to properly monitor what I was doing. I understand that every patient has different needs and some patients have more severe injuries to be treated. What I was hoping for, though, was more individualized guidance and at least some sense that we were figuring out what was contributing to my symptoms. Instead, I remained in pain throughout treatment and never felt like we got to the underlying problem. What bothered me most was how my treatment ended. On my last day, there was no discussion about what I should continue doing at home, whether I should pursue additional treatment, or what the next step should be. I wasn't even told that it was my last day of treatment. I essentially just finished the exercises and left. I don't necessarily blame every individual person there. Some of the staff were kind and helpful, while others came across as dismissive or uninterested. My bigger concern is the way the clinic is structured. My experience felt very corporate and formulaic, with the PTs and exercise assistants responsible for so many patients that there wasn't enough time for the individualized attention I needed. Physical therapy can already be a scary and vulnerable experience, especially when you've been dealing with chronic pain and are trying something because you genuinely want to get better. Patients should feel comfortable speaking up when an exercise doesn't feel right, asking questions, and getting appropriate guidance without feeling like they are inconveniencing someone. I really wanted this to work, and I gave it a genuine chance. Unfortunately, I left still in pain and without a clear plan for what to do next. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this clinic specifically for someone seeking individualized TMJ treatment.

The receptionist was knowledgeable about my…read moreinsurance plan, copay, etc. she was very friendly and really tried hard to find appointments that would accommodate my limited availability and offered to put me on a wait list (without my asking about it.) I went for a few visits but wasn't seeing tremendous improvement. I called to discuss my concerns and really appreciated their honesty, that unless I could also do some back-strengthening exercises at home, coming in wouldn't do much for me. Unfortunately I just don't have an hour a day to dedicate to that right now, but when I do I plan to go back. Since someone else mentioned it, it's true that the staff seems to be a little...chatty, let's call it. I've witnessed them all talking about each other while in for treatment and was also privy to a somewhat explicit conversation at the front desk about her recent date (while trying to pay my copay and schedule an appointment, so it's not like I shouldn't have been there). That stuff doesn't bother me as long as I'm receiving good care, which I feel like I did, at least by my PT's. The only real criticism I could give, is that they needed to cancel a Saturday appointment I had with only 2 hours notice... and they only called my house phone, despite also having my cell phone on file. As we had been out all morning, I never got the message. When canceling same day appointments, they really should use all methods of contact available.

I literally could not walk after having hurt my back lifing a small piece of luggage. As a physician myself, I am very careful who I allow to work on me. They helped me get out of the car and worked on me until I could walk. I was able to to move and stand up after the care. I too was able to sleep. Since then, I have had over 12…read more-14 questions from both sites from potential/current rehab clients of LSTC, the most recent a week ago. Given its been some time since my past review thought I would update but be briefer geared to questions I have received. In my last review I noted the advantage LSTC has combining the Therapists with Trainers so you are never left on your own as with most other PT Centers. This is the single best advantage over its competitors BUT it relies on the quality of staff. I was fortunate with having a very good Therapist who eventually left but was fortunate, having seen many other therapists work on others, to request Angie Austin step in when Leigh left mid-Therapy and she not only picked up working on my plantar fasciitis (and then right shoulder) but also worked with my orthopedist to help fit my orthotics. She helped me recover with rigorous exercises (she has eyes behind her because when I am doing something wrong with the trainers, she comes across to correct my technique) and after a PRP procedure on my right shoulder and a very thorough evaluation by Sydney Kosik (which was concurred by my by Doctor) started working with me. After an absence due to travel, I returned and in Angie's absence, started back with Sydney. I'm hoping to split my time with both of them as they are really good in spending effort and time working on muscle groups that need strengthened and each have slightly different techniques that I can use to build back strength. So, in response to questions on any flags to be aware of, here are a few: Assuming you are there for a few weeks, lock on a therapist who you feel is making the effort to help you (i.e., manual therapy). And have a back-up because the good ones seem to leave. If Angie and/or Sydney leave, I will revert back to anyone of several other therapists I know and respect (and use as with my back issues). Angie was nice enough to ensure I had the right bands to use at home and Sydney ensured I had a refresher after being away for some time. LSTC has decent pandemic procedures. However, no temperature checks as with others. And at times they are a bit lax with the 6-foot rule placing folks too near each other. I now wear 2 masks just to be careful. They do wipe down all equipment. Most all equipment available except no Electrotherapy Equipment/dry needling which can be quite helpful. Its one reason my wife left and if it were my back, I would not be there (now with my 6 year + therapist who uses both) Not much flexibility when you run out of visits. Other Centers allow you to self-pay what your Insurance pays. Here its more expensive so not worth paying as I was willing to do. However, its really convenient if you live in the area, front office staff including claims very pleasant to deal with, approvals easy to obtain (a huge plus); trainers are helpful to work with (they do seem short-staffed) and appointments easy to schedule (assuming you don't mind who are with...in my case I have to plan). Hopefully I have provided a useful update by responding to several questions received. Feel free to reach out with any additional feedback.

You'll probably be working with PTAs rather than DPTs or MPTs yet paying the very high rates set for licensed PTs. So, this is a model made for the benefit of the owners and not clients or patients. It may be efficient for the owners but not cost-efficient or as effective for patrons. For a fairly new facility, equipment already looks really worn & so do the treatment rooms. Highly professional environment is not how I'd describe it. Evaluation wasn't as comprehensive as I'd hoped. They charge for absolutely everything they can to increase your bill so they can charge insurance. And the rates are so high! What the insurance company doesn't pay will leave patrons with a pretty hefty bill. On top of that, never received an actual write-up of the evaluation and never could get a formal home program no matter how many times it was requested. What the heck?!? That felt like they just wanted to keep a person coming back and not practice outside of therapy to improve more quickly. That seems to go against getting off the caseload as quickly as possible for significant improvement and instead encouraging more frequent in-house sessions so you can be billed massively for each one. Kinda counter to any type of ethical therapy practice of any kind. They're not cheap. I'm happy to pay for consistent high quality services if one gets what they pay for. Can't say that's what I got here with any certainty. If one is working only with PTAs, then charges should reflect that lower level of expertise & training. If one is working directly with a licensed PT, charges should appropriately reflect that level of expertise. Length of sessions always fluctuated (always in the direction of shorter sessions) yet billing remained the same for each visit & in some cases charges tacked on for procedures not rendered. That's an example of their inconsistency. Worth the drive? Ummm...So, if you choose Chiron, manage your expectations. For elite athletes (elite as in you can afford the high rates) looking to recover & get your mojo back, then this may be the place for you. Definitely felt like money was a huge incentive here. For patients needing quality & compassionate clinical PT care, I'd suggest finding a practitioner and setting more geared toward providing that type of expertise & level of care.

Their location is convenient and the team is super nice. The patients are really neat, too. As an avid skier I met another skier rehabbing and he was able to provide some information on knee/ankle friendly slopes in Montana. Rachel has been absolutely fantastic to work with over the years, twice post-surgical and once pre-surgical. She encourages me to exercise and improve, showing small tricks to squeak out the last little bit of flexibility. Every degree of movement gets me closer to "normal" and it does take hard work to get there. Also, I don't know much about my musculoskeletal systems and she is happy to answer questions. Like all PT locations they are busy in the AM and may have multiple patients and balance the session between exercise, PT manual manipulation, and stim therapy. I believe all their therapists have their Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While recovery is painful, she finishes off with ice and stim which really helps with the post-PT pain since I try to avoid pain medications. There have been 1 or 2 times that I declined because of work or a meeting but can say that the ice coupled with the stim really makes a difference. My previous PT at Inova and at Herndon Family Medicine did not couple the ice with the stim.
