As a mother, I am furious and heartbroken over what happened here. My daughter joined this center's after-school homework program. Her first day went smoothly -- she used one of their laptops and finished her work without any problem. I trusted that she was in a safe, structured place. But on her second day, she opened the laptop they assigned her and was shocked to find an explicit g*y p**n videos site (P**n H*b.com) already open -- filled with content completely inappropriate for children. She was disgusted and immediately reported it to the supervisor I received a call from the center about the incident. As soon as I heard what happened, I went there furious and deeply concerned. I asked to speak to the owner but was told the owner was "out of town." I spoke with the manager on duty, who admitted the laptop had an inappropriate site open but claimed it was from a "previous user." When I asked to see the site myself, they refused, saying they had already closed it and deleted the browser history -- but they mentioned that before doing so, they had taken a photo on the manager's personal cellphone "for documentation." I asked them to send me that photo, but they refused because it was on her personal phone. I then asked her to at least show me the photo, and when she did, I took a picture of her phone screen for my own record. Later, when I reviewed the picture I took, I realized something very concerning: the photo they showed me was of the YouTube tab that was open next to the inappropriate explicit contents tab. It is shocking that even when documenting an incident like this, they changed the tab and took a photo of the youtube tab not the tab subject of the incident. That means they concealed the real content and tried to minimize what happened. Too bad the PH.com tab was still showing next to the Youtube tab. I asked them to document the incident in writing. The "incident report" they produced was extremely vague and incomplete, failing to describe the seriousness of what actually happened. This wasn't just negligence -- it was also deceptive handling of a serious exposure incident involving a child. The lack of supervision, the absence of parental controls, and then the attempt to hide the full truth are absolutely unacceptable for any place that works with children. Parents, please take this as a serious warning. There's more than tutoring happening here, and what happened to my daughter should never happen to anyone else's child. Ask to see how they monitor their devices and what safeguards they actually have -- don't assume your child is protected. read more

Their hours aren't correct on yelp, which was frustrating. The woman I spoke to was able to answer my questions thoroughly and compassionately. She was accommodating and friendly, and if all the instructors are like her I think that my son will have a good time at the spring camp. I do hope they update or change the registration system because not getting the confirmation emails is a bit unpleasant. read more

This year Innovation Education took over the City of Palmdale's Tiny Tots Program.  After attending the informative meeting during the summer, parents were told that they were going to keep the program as consistent as possible. First, the price increased including an additional $15 registration fee. The size of the classroom was also increased by 5 students. Now, I know that doesn't seem like a big change but it makes a huge difference in the classroom. The City also required that the parents come in and volunteer twice per session. After volunteering my 4th time since this program started in August I decided to give Innovation Education a call and spoke with Rhonda. She informed me that parents were not required to volunteer. This changes everything, 2 teachers with 25 students with 9 of those students being new to the program and have not adjusted to the new routine.  I explained to Rhonda that if parents are not required to volunteer then Innovation Education should send out 2 more employees to help with the class everyday. She explained to me that she was a teacher and she has experience in this field. I invited her to come to the classroom for the entire 3 -4 hours and see for herself how chaotic it can be and why 4 adults would be a better idea.  So I was told that parents aren't required to volunteer but on the other hand if parents do come they are required to bring in one craft and a snack to share with the class. Innovation should either require parents to volunteer twice per session or have another teacher in the classroom. Finally, after a few weeks Innovation did get another employee to assist in the classroom. When classes were cancelled due to Covid-19 for the remainder of the school year Innovation sent out an email asking parents to donate their registration fees. Since I was unable to donate the money, I requested a refund that took 7 weeks to receive. Another email was later sent announcing their online class. Innovation failed to recognize the students. No graduation, no certificate, no celebration, nada. After I called to see if innovation planned to recognize the students my only option was to join the online class because nothing was being planned for the end of the school year. Fast forward three months, I find out the kids who attended the online class and those enrolled in the other site had a graduation ceremony. They purposely excluded those parents who decided not to continue with the online class. They took it out personally on those families who requested a refund. The City of Palmdale should have never contracted out to a poorly run company. This program was designed to help middle class families that don't qualify for low-income programs and can't afford private preschools. Our child was enrolled in a quality educational preschool through the city, but that all changed once Innovation Education took over. I would definitely not recommend. *My review has nothing to do with the actual teachers who were both lovely and my son adored. read more

I was wrongfully fired at this company. I only worked here for two months. I may have made mistake, but people make mistake. I know what skills I lacked on and I worked hard every time I showed up to work. I write this review because I deeply care about the children and the next employee who works there. I did not deserve to be fired. My training consisted sexual harassment, three days on how the job works, and some of the policies were informed, but only twice, and I received a packet. Frankly, that is not enough. Each day is different. I used my best judgement and asked for help. The more questions I asked, the more I was picked on and I truly thought I was receiving help and thought that this company was helping me improve on how to be a better tutor. If my boss gave up on me after two month, how do you know he won't give up on the next employee or on a child. read more

Disappointment. I recently enrolled my daughter in their summer program. A staff member asked if I wanted my daughter to go on their field trip and I replied yes and returned the permission slip. The day of the field trip I dropped off my six year old daughter and she is incredibly excited to go on her first field trip. Later that day I get a phone call saying that she is unable to go on the field trip and I need to pick her up. These people do not understand how wrong this is. If it were an issue of needing me to pay extra money, they should have called me. If it were an issue of not having space on the van, I could have driven her. Something you do NOT do is tell a small child they no longer have space for her to go on a field trip that you invited her on. She is already shy and your lack of sensitivity and care left my daughter feeling embarrassed and unwanted. Even after calling to speak with someone there was no resolve or genuine apology. This place is not well run and does not treat children with the care they deserve. They didn't even give me the opportunity to avoid my daughter from feeling this way, it seemed as though this is something that happens often. Instead of passing out fliers to get more business, you should focus on treating your current customers better. I have two other children that I would have put in the program, had you handled this situation better. read more

This facility is very impressive, the focus on academic achievement is demonstrated by the results. My child went from failing math to getting 100% in math!! Impressive results - from D and F to A! She was given new math problem solving skills, encouraged, supported, and most of all given the assistance/attention she needed to understand the work. The tutors are just fantastic and work very well with the students. The environment at Innovation Education provides a warm space, facilitates learning using various teaching methods and strategies, they have a team of caring laser focused tutors that help the children to gain understanding and achieve academic excellence. After struggling with getting the staff at our school to comply with my children's IEP's, I decided it was time to seek support outside of school. I contacted IE and talked with Karen about the issues we were experiencing. She was so understanding and supportive and encouraged me to see if this would help. Not only did it help, but it changed my daughter's attitude about academics. She is not an easy student to work with, she is very bright, but focus is a challenge for her. But she is also very sensitive and easily hurt when adults become frustrated with her. At IE, she has blossomed. She loves attending "tutoring", she doesn't want to miss a day. Ms. Rachel has been a miracle worker. She is patient, kind and compassionate and understands that my child is not a "typical learner". Now my daughter no longer feels like a failure, she feels competent and happy and her academics have improved a great deal. I don't often write reviews because I only want to endorse businesses I feel very strongly about. I can't say enough about IE. They have truly helped my children become better students and improve their attitude towards school. In addition, they really care about the children they work with; the workers view them as individuals and know that they have to vary their approach to the student. It's a safe environment where I feel comfortable leaving my daughter. It is very reasonable and worth every penny! My daughter has shown some progress and doesn't fight me about going. The owner really cares about children and has a passion for teaching and helping children. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for tutoring. read more

My kids are in the after school program at Gregg Anderson. The tutors there are professional, kind, patient, organized, conscientious and they go above and beyond for the students. Every time I pick up my kids, every single tutor is either tutoring or helping students. Not only do the tutors make sure all the homework and projects are done, they make sure my kids study and are prepared for their tests. I also love the extra stuff like yoga, outdoor play time and advanced supplemental curriculum. The owner is very professional, easy to work with and cares tremendously about her clients. Bottom line, as a parent, I feel my kids are not only getting the academic and social benefits of being in this program, I love the fact that I know my kids are safe and carefully supervised....and my kids LOVE being in this program. Our experience with Innovation Education via Gregg Anderson Academy after school program has been entirely different from the post written by Stacey A. on 11/4/2015. Over the last 3 years, we have often been to the school to pick up our precious grandchildren, ages 8 and 11. Our grandkids actually get annoyed if we arrive too early to pick them up as they love the tutors and the program. In our experience, we have found the owner to be present, helpful, accommodating and exceedingly professional. She and her staff treat all students, with or without disabilities, with the utmost care and compassion. As long-time residents, we have watched the numbers triple over the last three years with additional programs being established at other elementary schools in the district. Word of mouth is a powerful tool and word is out that this organization is exemplary in it's code of conduct, services to children, and support to parents. Perhaps there is more to Stacey A.'s story, for it is said that every story sounds good until you hear the other side. read more

My daughter started attending tutoring at Innovation Education last spring, and it has made all of the difference in her academic life. I brought them an exhausted, frustrated, and insecure eight-year-old, and they have developed her into a confident, excited, and successful learner. My experience with their staff has been excellent. They are professional, caring, rigorous and supportive. As a teacher at QHHS, I know many of the tutors from the time that they spent in my own classroom, and I can attest to the fact that Innovation Education is hiring exceptional individuals and training them well to be exceptional tutors. In addition, Innovation Education has many credentialed and highly-regarded educators on their staff. I went to Innovation Education two days before having to take a test for a great potential job opportunity. After being out of high school for 6 years and not doing math on a regular basis, I was having trouble remembering how to do some of the math problems (okay, maybe all) on the given study guide. I owe it all to Debbie and her amazing team of tutors after I earned a 96% on my test!!! In addition to the awesome help I received, they also made me feel so confident. I signed my son up for the summer math readiness program and it worked wonders. This year he was fully prepared to start the school year and the first half of the school year he soared. Will definitely look into the winter break session for next school year to give him an advantage for the second half of the year. read more

The owner is an absolute disgrace to children with disabilities. When I signed my son up for this program at Gregg Anderson Academy they were completely aware of his disability/diagnosis. He had an incident and they kicked him out with no opportunity for correction. This happened when he was just 7 years old. At the time I did not complain and understood that he did something wrong. I was completely unaware at the time that they would hold a 7 year old liable 3 years later. I signed him up again and instead of contacting me directly, the first day they made a decision within the first 2 minutes of class to put my 10 year old son in with kindergarteners, As a punishment from 3 years prior when he was 7 years old (please note that my son has absolutely no discipline issues what so ever at school) He did nothing wrong. My son has bruises on his back due to their lack of proper accommodation. Obviously a 10 year old should not be playing on the playground designed for 5 year olds. He is just too big. Shame on them!!!! The owner will not make accommodations nor talk directly to me about the situation. I am sure if you have perfect child it's probably a good program, but I thought in this day and age children with disabilities should be welcomed into programs and embraced. Not here!
