I had spoken w a couple of people online and they were very upfront and honest with be about not being sure they could actually do the exact job I was desiring. So I looked up online and saw Total Furniture Restoration with a Bible verse shown, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. " This instantly caught my eye and I decided to give them a call. They explained to me that they were too busy doing commercial projects right now to work on a single piece of furniture for residential. I was trying to speak with the girl on the phone and get more information on if they just had one department that worked specifically on furniture restoration for residential or if they had several people that worked in that area....mainly because what I'm wanting done is somewhat different. I did not want to wait around for two or three weeks, only to find out that there was no one that could do exactly what I was wanting done. I thought that she might have someone call me back and speak to me about my project. However, that was not the case at all. She again, made it quite clear that they did not have time to work on anything I had at this moment. And she also made it clear that I seemed to be annoying her. I don't typically write poor reviews on Yelp. I understand that sometimes people are having bad days. And I always try to keep that in the back of my mind. But I have several pieces of furniture that needed to be worked on and this company just lost my business!

It is hard to believe how one's life can change so drastically in only two hours. Last Christmas…read moreday my wife and I left our house to deliver some presents to friends. Our dogs went to their kennels as they always did. When we returned home, two hours later we opened the door to a house completely filled with smoke. We had an electrical fire which resulted in the loss of most of our personal belongings and our two beautiful dogs, leaving our beautiful "dream house" in shambles. I tell you all of this because I want it known that your company did so much more then providing property repair. My wife and I found ourselves lost and overwhelmed. I truly had no idea what to do. A couple of days after the fire I had found a flyer from your company on the door of the house. I subsequently met with Chris Barnett who not only outlined what your company could provide, he showed compassion, understanding and patience. This took such a weight off of us and gave us a direction when it had appeared that all was loss. Chris was outstanding guiding us along through every step. Then Chris did the greatest thing. He provided Ray Hernandez as the superintendent for our home's repair. Ray is truly amazing! He is knowledgeable, detail oriented and hands on. Ray's attitude is always positive, caring and friendly. I have not only seen him at the house many times, he often has a tool in his hand helping with the repairs. He truly leads by example with impeccable work ethic. It always makes me feel good after talking with Ray. He keeps me in the loop and always shows compassion and understanding. I am truly grateful for all of this. Now that the house has been completed, we are finally home and the house is more beautiful than before! You can be very proud of your company. Mostly you can be very proud of Chris and Ray. Both times he told me he couldn't do the work right then because he had much bigger jobs to do first. I understood that I would not get priority, but his business sense is senseless. He never offered a time that he could or would do it. His shop is a mess, that's an understatement - you'll be lucky to see your project finished if he even offers to take it on. And, he only takes cash. My recommendation: Avoid this man and his shop. He may do decent work, but the trials and tribulations of getting a small job done there are not worth the effort. Sorry Tom.
