WOW. What a large collection of comics. I don't think I've ever seen that many boxes of comics in…read moreone place! My husband dragged me on a trip down here from Rochester, NY. They were having a 30cent sale on all the $1 comics. He had a plan to go through as many boxes as possible to gather as many missing issues as possible. And we did pretty good. He was able to get over 200 comics for an amazing deal. We finished up a couple of series with issues he'd been looking for for a while. Inside is cramped when there are so many people taking advantage of the sales, but there are just an unbelievable number of comics here. Did I mention just how many there are? A Lot. And I just want to say thank you that they allowed us shoppers to use the rest room to wash hands and use the facilities. When you're there for almost 4 hours, that'd definitely a bonus.

New Dimension Comics is an old school comic shop that boasts an inventory as massive as the Hulk's…read morelimitless strength. This shop has row upon row of packed comic book sleeves, lovingly labeled and categorized by series. They pretty much have you covered from Gold to Silver age comic, as well as a wide range of modern issues. I was looking for some Silver Age Fantastic Four, and they did have some key issues in this area, but I felt some of there key issues were just bit overpriced compared to what I could find on EBay for a similar grade. However, some of their other Silver Age Fantastic Fours were tight in the sweet spot... or as Luke Cage would say, "Sweet Christmas!" The also offer some really good deals on Funko Pops, and I witnessed a blister game of Magic the Gathering being played in the shop. All of this underscores the fact that this comic book shop is a gem and should not be missed. The next time I'm in the area, I'm certain to stop in for my fix of all things comic book fandom.

Really niche place. He realized we were coming in and jumped up to turn the lights on and get set up and put on music (which was uncomfortably loud, my friend couldn't hear what I was saying). He didn't really know a lot about the records when we asked him about a few. We dug through some of the records and there was a lot of rock & roll. A lot. There was a section purely for Elvis. There was a deeply neglected hip-hop section, and an even emptier electronic and jazz section. the prices were okay, but the labeling for the pressings have a tendency to be wrong, so make sure you don't get spoofed.

On the lower crates are .50-3.00 albums it's almost the typical stuff with a couple of different label releases. I found an album that was on Atco and that one was boogered, then I found the same that was on Atlantic that was +vg If you want specific original albums that are classified correctly, this would be the place. No bullshit on terre haute pressings or other specific pressings. Its definitely the real deal. I found some strange albums there. Downfall would be, access to the place. It's kinda hidden. Customer service blows! And you have to pay for parking. Enjoy!

That's unacceptable and she was most likely given a $7 value of grenadine at best. I've become somewhat of a frequent flyer, trying to make it weekly. When I do I have a routine and have found some absolute classics for an unbelievable value. The staff and service is great whether I'm in the record store or in the bar the staff is always friendly and helpful. Sometimes just end up talking with the staff long after I checked out. I've gotten some great hauls at great prices. I've left there with 7 albums for $76, also have spent $50 on 1 album. The actual number of albums in the store isn't as large as some other places in the city, with that being said it's a good thing because the store isn't filled with vinyls no one wants. Quality over quantity never matters here. Which makes going through the selection so much less overwhelming than some places I've been, especially if you're newer in the vinyl world. I've been to almost every record store in Allegheny County. The Government Center is definitely in my Top 3, and it's not 2 or 3. S/O Walter and Baby I forgot to mention in my original review. Aforementioned the record store is attached to a bar. To be able to drink a few beers while you look at records, the vibes here are immaculate.

I can always find something I'm interested in for $10 or less. Jerry's is a third place to me. It's a must visit every time I'm back in Pittsburgh! Jerry's is estimated to have over 500,000 records. Here's what I've learned from my two years in Pittsburgh to help sort through the collection: 1. Best sellers are located upfront. Normally there's a few of each artist: The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rush, Aerosmith, and many more. Price range between $20-60 2. For people starting out, Jerry's has a lot of well known albums and artists for $7-8 a record. Common finds: Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Santana, REO Speedwagon, Jefferson Starship/Jefferson Airplane, Elton John, STYX, and Chicago. 3. Huge Christmas selection in the $3-20 range. They likely have what you're looking for. My boyfriend's mom was looking for Christmas with Mitch for many years. She found 8 copies at Jerry's Records in less than 15 minutes. 4. There's a large Broadway and musical soundtrack section tucked in the corner down the first hallway on the right. Normally they are about $5-15. 5. Before checking out, look at the record and sleeve for damages. From experience, most priced above $7 play really well. They may have a few crackles, but a quick wash takes most of that away. Things in the $3 range are risky.

I…read moreused to have really terrible experiences in this store but then they got a couple of helpful staff members who no longer seem to be around sadly. Walked in around 1pm on a Friday. Not super busy. Neither of the employees acknowledged me in anyway. My one friend stopped getting FYE's e-mails. He would use the coupons so he stopped shopping there a couple years ago. I used to shop here a lot more because I bought a lot of used media. In November of 2018 I stopped getting all FYE e-mails. Because of this, I stopped coming in as frequently. Today I went in to look at Funko pops and to ask about the e-mails. I walk back to the Funkos and there's no signage anywhere about the current deal. I assumed there just wasn't one. I ask the employees and they tell me it's buy 2 get 1 free! That's actually a pretty awesome deal. Why is that not being advertised? That being said, I could only find two of the three Sanderson sisters and the only I Love Lucy pop that they had was damaged pretty badly and as it was meant as a gift, I passed. I ask them about me not getting e-mail coupons (or any e-mails at all and they asked me if I was ever a Backstage member (their rewards program) - I explained to them that last Black Friday (November 2018) I let an employee talk me into signing up then cancelling my trial membership a couple days later so I'd get a discount on my purchase. This, according to them is why I stopped getting e-mails. So they put my e-mail back in the system but they told me I won't get any discount coupons in my e-mail anymore because I'm not a backstage member... Ok then why did I get them before? Prior to signing up briefly for the Backstage membership back in November of 2018 I got their e-mails/coupons for years. Why does my other friend who's not and has never been a Backstage member still get them now? This makes absolutely no sense. My one friend who used to shop here a lot has stopped because you can usually find better deals online. eBay is usually cheaper for used media. I've been shopping here less and less over the last year and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. A lot of FYE locations have closed and I'm honestly surprised this one is still open. They act like they don't need your business.

With the music scene changing to more of a mobile format, most people rarely go to a chain music store. The store is stuck in the 90s, cut it down to either half or a quarter of the size and I am sure that this store would still be just as useful. As for the store itself, due to the sheer size of the place, it looks empty. Every rack is sparsely stocked and more times than any, you won't find what you actually want. The staffing here is good. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and wasn't badgered while I browsed. Pricing could be better, unless it's a new release or a previously used item; you are paying a pretty penny for new music.
