This record store is gigantic and maybe my favorite thing is that there are a couple of different…read moredivided rooms, and different music was playing in the main room (which includes rock/pop, alternative, and folk alongside all of their bestsellers) and then if you venture off into the well-stocked jazz room -- through a small corridor, you are greeted by a whole new acoustic vibe. The records here for the most part seem to be vintage. I didn't find a number of things I was looking for -- perhaps they were too new to be found here or a little obscure. But, I did notice that they have a very large collection of musicals and film soundtracks (the former of which I am a major fan). The rows and rows of what I think is their back stock not in the main center of the store are also a sight to behold. There are also a lot of hodgepodge bins at the front of the newest and "hottest" arrivals, as well as employee picks. I'm sure I'll be back here again. There must be 50K records in here. It is a bit overwhelming. Also, I will lastly say that the prices for the majority of items I saw while perusing are rather affordable and reasonable.

They had a lot of really cool inventory, and even though I am not really a collector of records, I do still have some from when I was younger, and it was cool to see certain selections that I currently own, and the price that they are selling for. Greg the owner was awesome as I checked out him and I got to talking definitely a great dude with a great store with a great vibe. He was playing some groovy music that I was really vibing to as I looked through what the crates. Now the store is small but Greg most definitely maximizes the space he has, the selection and value of what he has in his store makes this a must stop if you enjoy vinyl.

I only wanted to see if they had some Thad Jones or bebop for a rainy day. But my mind is never made up. I dig around and find some cheap funk and soul; mostly Parliament, The Isley Brothers, The Staple Singers. I really like what they're playing and ask what it is. Bob Hocko and the Swamp Rats. I'll take that one, too. Thanks. Sometimes I go into Mind Cure with nothing to do and nothing on my mind. I'm in a slump. Do you have music? The answer is always yes. I walk out with things I've never heard of. Or things I've heard of. It doesn't matter. Mind Cure is my favorite place in Pittsburgh. I can get a coffee downstairs and buy a book or a comic upstairs. They have all of the music I want and the shelves are carefully curated and constantly updated. Punk, hardcore, metal, rock, funk, blues, jazz, folk, world, and even a weirdo/indoor kid section for when I'm feeling like a true lump of coal.

The record store is impeccable with new finds as well as rare. I've seen quite a few bands play here as well from local to touring and national acts. Space is small but packs the people without being uncomfortable. Acoustics are good. The addition of the bar was a smart move. Affordable prices with alcoholic as well as non-alcoholic beverages. This is totally a place I'd want to visit if I were on vacation somewhere. Glad I don't have to leave the city to do so.

They actually had the book I wanted for virtually the same price I could get anywhere else, as I'm writing this review I checked online and it's significantly cheaper now than it has been. Each level has different elements. There's stairs, as well as an elevator to access all levels. Prices seem reasonable for the things that they offer. Everything is well kept and in protective sleeves, etc to preserve it from getting worn. Every employee was pleasant and friendly. Not sure about parking as we walked. But, it's super close to the Heinz History Center so could easily walk from there. Well worth a visit!!

There are multiple floors at Eide's and you can take the stairs but there is an elevator. Their floors are organized by the type of item they sell on that floor. For example, one floor is records, another is comics, toys, and action figures, so it's pretty simple to find the right direction if you're looking for something specific. The staff is also very kind and helpful. During my most recent trip I was browsing the first floor and found one of my favorite books from my childhood! It was only $5 and I couldn't pass it up. You just never know what you'll find here, but I can guarantee if you look hard enough you'll find some gems!

Nice, large selection of new titles and flows from the front and into rooms that also contain shirts, 45lps and CDs. As you work thru, the used album wind around and sections are labeled nicely. Prices are slightly higher compared to other records stores in Western PA and eastern Ohio. If I'm looking for a specific title, this store would not be my first choice but would be an option if having trouble finding a unique title. I would go back but it would not be a planned trip, etc. As of 2/25/26, You may find slightly better deals at Jerry's in Squirrel Hill, Preserving Vinyl in New Kensington, Geos in Youngstown OH, Music To My Ear off Babcock Blvd or Inner Groove in Monaca. Hard-to-find, rare, classic pressings as well as newer recordings. I could spend hours just looking at all of the albums and learning more about music that I love as well as bands and singers I don't know tons about. This is really just a fun shop that carries so much history, art and joy in the form of vinyl. Even if you're a modest collector you have to give yourself the pleasure of enjoying all that Get Hip has to offer.

I returned to the store this evening to try and sell the rest of the figurines and entertainment…read moremerchandise from my personal collection I have been building over the years. We went to the store a few days ago and felt that the young lady was fair in the offer she gave us for the few items we brought in to sell. As a result, we thought it was safe to bring the rest of my collection all at once tonight. Unfortunately, my husband and I truly feel like a fast one was played on us. We brought well over 50 items into the store. After waiting approximately 45 minutes for the three associates to look over the items, the young man called us to the counter to let us know that they were only interested in purchasing quote, unquote just a few things. He pointed to a bag sitting behind the counter that was stuffed to the top with my collectibles and said that they were not interested in hardly any of the action figures or collectible figurines. He then pointed over to a shelf which only appeared to have 12 items tops and said these are the few things that we are interested in purchasing. His offer was $20 store credit or $16 cash. Thinking it was only if you items I took the offer and brought my throne about collection back to my car. I just got back to my house and realized that I was never given a receipt showing what exactly they bought in the price they gave me for each item. On top of that, when I went through my collection that was hardly stuffed in the bag I found it was more like 25 to 30 items most of which were my action figures and collectible figurines. Needless to say I am not happy in the least. I have been searching online and all through the website looking for a contact form or an email. I would really like to formally document my complaint and dissatisfaction. Oh well... I guess I am going to just have to personally go into the store tomorrow to the bottom of this. I'll be sure to keep you posted on how the situation develops and the resolution presented... If any Grrrrrr
