I can always find something I'm interested in for $10 or less. Jerry's is a third place to me. It's a must visit every time I'm back in Pittsburgh! Jerry's is estimated to have over 500,000 records. Here's what I've learned from my two years in Pittsburgh to help sort through the collection: 1. Best sellers are located upfront. Normally there's a few of each artist: The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rush, Aerosmith, and many more. Price range between $20-60 2. For people starting out, Jerry's has a lot of well known albums and artists for $7-8 a record. Common finds: Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Santana, REO Speedwagon, Jefferson Starship/Jefferson Airplane, Elton John, STYX, and Chicago. 3. Huge Christmas selection in the $3-20 range. They likely have what you're looking for. My boyfriend's mom was looking for Christmas with Mitch for many years. She found 8 copies at Jerry's Records in less than 15 minutes. 4. There's a large Broadway and musical soundtrack section tucked in the corner down the first hallway on the right. Normally they are about $5-15. 5. Before checking out, look at the record and sleeve for damages. From experience, most priced above $7 play really well. They may have a few crackles, but a quick wash takes most of that away. Things in the $3 range are risky.

Excellent selection and friendly knowledgeable staff. Could be a dangerous place without a spending…read morelimit!!!

Four levels - yep, FOUR - of nostalgia!! Such a terrific collection of games, books, tapes, CD's,…read morefigurines, posters, comics, vinyl, collectibles, etc. you would be hard pressed not to find something that doesn't make you go, "I remember this!" Each level has different elements. There's stairs, as well as an elevator to access all levels. Prices seem reasonable for the things that they offer. Everything is well kept and in protective sleeves, etc to preserve it from getting worn. Every employee was pleasant and friendly. Not sure about parking as we walked. But, it's super close to the Heinz History Center so could easily walk from there. Well worth a visit!!

First off respect for the customer and kindness would go a long way! Workers there have egos that…read morethey think gives them the right to talk down to you if you don't have the comic knowledge they go! Plain ignorance is not how you run a store. I've been a patron since the squirrel hill days when I was in grade school and I was always talked down to then and now. I highly recommend to Avoid record store day at eides because they don't like selling you vinyl because you go there one day a year or 2. You have to be a constant customer for them to sell you vinyl you want. They hold vinyl for people their friends and staff. I came to pick up vinyl one time I ordered and they sold it to their staff. If you're not a regular don't count on getting what u want. You can't carry records and look around you have to buy them right away or they will take them back and sell to their friends. Even if you went for years and spent $100s of dollars it means absolutely nothing. I would find a new place to go where the workers actually talk to you and let you browse and treat you like a customer should. Other people go once a year but for some reason I'm. Always singled out and I spend the most money there on record store day. I can't help the fact that I have a terminal illness and trying to get disability and I still get treated like shit. They know I have physical and financial limitations but that's always ignored. It's money money money. If they don't stop treating customers like shit especially a customer from the 1980s I'm done buying anything there. I get enough horrible things that happen to me outside of eides. If you have a question if you call them they don't like they will hang up on you. The store is struggling enough but they chose to do things that will close this store sooner than later. The customer does not come first! They actually took records I was buying from me and fold them to their staff! Who does that! If you browse with records in your hand they get mad and ask you put them back so other people can buy them! Wow talk about rude! I was waiting for money to be deposited in my account and they were so mad becsuse they wanted their money then and now when I was buying like $400 worth of music!

I could spend hours just looking at all of the albums and learning more about music that I love as well as bands and singers I don't know tons about. This is really just a fun shop that carries so much history, art and joy in the form of vinyl. Even if you're a modest collector you have to give yourself the pleasure of enjoying all that Get Hip has to offer.

We weren't greeted at all- or acknowledged so for a place that was voted PGH best record store- not sure. We went to the store a few days ago and felt that the young lady was fair in the offer she gave us for the few items we brought in to sell. As a result, we thought it was safe to bring the rest of my collection all at once tonight. Unfortunately, my husband and I truly feel like a fast one was played on us. We brought well over 50 items into the store. After waiting approximately 45 minutes for the three associates to look over the items, the young man called us to the counter to let us know that they were only interested in purchasing quote, unquote just a few things. He pointed to a bag sitting behind the counter that was stuffed to the top with my collectibles and said that they were not interested in hardly any of the action figures or collectible figurines. He then pointed over to a shelf which only appeared to have 12 items tops and said these are the few things that we are interested in purchasing. His offer was $20 store credit or $16 cash. Thinking it was only if you items I took the offer and brought my throne about collection back to my car. I just got back to my house and realized that I was never given a receipt showing what exactly they bought in the price they gave me for each item. On top of that, when I went through my collection that was hardly stuffed in the bag I found it was more like 25 to 30 items most of which were my action figures and collectible figurines. Needless to say I am not happy in the least. I have been searching online and all through the website looking for a contact form or an email. I would really like to formally document my complaint and dissatisfaction. Oh well... I guess I am going to just have to personally go into the store tomorrow to the bottom of this. I'll be sure to keep you posted on how the situation develops and the resolution presented... If any Grrrrrr
