Specialties
We specialize in creating beautiful spaces in the home as well as in professional spaces. We do custom woodworking that includes both interior and exterior doors, dining tables, live-edge countertops, outdoor benches, console and coffee tables, shelving, and more. We offer carpentry/millwork services as well, to include trim work and accent walls. And we also carry a line of handmade jewelry using unique reclaimed materials and epoxy. If you have a vision, we can turn that vision into reality!
History
Established in 2021.
I started my business in 2021, but I have been passionate about woodworking for a very long time. In fact, when I was young I would stay with my grandfather during the summers in Shady Cove, Oregon, where he worked as a cabinetmaker and carpenter, and would help him work in his shop. It was through these formative experiences that my love for woodworking began.
Throughout my adult life I've worked many different jobs, including construction, Law Enforcement, property restoration, building maintenance, and multi-family housing/property management. However, the constant has always been my love for custom woodworking. In 2021 I transitioned to woodworking full-time, and Inner Harbor Woodworking was born. I love bringing the natural beauty of wood accents into homes and professional spaces, and I particularly enjoy using reclaimed materials, live-edge slabs and epoxy.
Meet the Business Owner: Tom B.
I am a husband (my wife Angela and I have been married for 20 years) and father of two kids. I grew up in a small town called Quilcene, Washington, and graduated from college in Salem, Oregon. My wife and I were married after graduation and moved to Puyallup, Washington, I spent a number of years in Law Enforcement in Tacoma before leaving for the private sector. We moved to Vancouver, Washington, where we still reside, and I worked as a construction supervisor and eventually property manager at an apartment complex, before establishing Inner Harbor Woodworking.
I have many passions, including mountain biking, music (in particular, guitar), reading, writing, and skateboarding. I love coffee, and enjoy trying different foods. My wife and I love to travel, and do so as often as possible. I am a creative person, and custom woodworking is something I do not as a job, but as a creative expression of something I am very passionate about.
