GREAT place!!! Wish it were a chain so I could always have such affordable and clean accommodations…read moreavailable! When I'm back in Hope- no question I will stay here. PROS: Incredibly clean (like, crazy clean for a budget motel); quality furnishings; firm bed; kitchenette; appliances all working and clean (toaster, micro, fridge, hair dryer, etc); carpet is new and a tight, light colored weave - not a gross shag that feels germ-y; proprietor is SUPER helpful and accommodating, and clearly working very hard. CONS: Near a busy road so if you're sensitive to noise that could be an issue for you. The clothes hanging rack and shelf are REALLY high up on the wall (over 5 feet) so were not usable for me.

We told the person at the desk it did not work, she replied "It is new" as if this was a solution, so the new mini-refrigerator in the room does not work and it clicks on and off (all night) trying to work. Other than that the room has some positives. There is a microwave, toaster Over, toaster, hotplate and coffee pot in the room. Most look new. There is a TV with several channels but no TV guide I could find and the one built into the TV did not align the stations to the numbers correctly so you had to just search trial an error. There is a table for my computer, but the chairs do not match the table (chairs are too high for the low table) so I have to sit sideways to use the computer, The wifi is ok, but it has dropped on me a couple of times.

I happened upon this lovely rest spot during my July 2025 tracks. It was an Infinite 8 on the map. Started at The Liberty Market in Bucoda WA, where I saw a rainbow of cars and those of Value enjoying what Liberty might mean for them. Me and RBG passed by and waved Hi. Then me and my Mate headed up North, honorable mentions of course, when the time is right. You know who YOU ARE! But tonight, it is The Royal Lodge since the Green and Blue reminded me of you know who- The SEAHAWKS! Hope Canada! I felt HOPE there when I rested for a second. Nestled in the AWESOME Canadian Mountains and a landscape that will blow your mind. Go and see for yourself the Unique way the Caretaker of this place made sure his guests had the tried and true items that offer one of PEACE and Love which = True Rest- it was THE best! Posted pics of what stood out and caught my eye- like --wood stained with colors that felt warm; -- And Cords on phones with analog buttons. --A lovely food/flower garden and RV hook-ups! The doors were adorned with flowers growin' in terra cotta pots. --Sheets that reminded me of soft gauze and gorgeous blankets. Just right for the kind of night I was hoping to find at that point during my JoyRide. There is a shade of White paint that makes EVERYTHING illuminate. It reminded me of when I was in a very special place- India! One of the FINEST spaces you'll land in... head that way at some point and check out the joint the vibe won't dissapoint... -T PS. On the way out of town, I witnessed a blessed scene that I never want to forget- The Fire Dancers on the Ridgeliine with air support dropping the good stuff so we can enjoy the beauty A(ll) around US! Take good care out there! Tbc... a note about the Lanai at Seaside OR and the waves the Coast Gaurd ride...

The key word is "value" here, folks…read more The motel is better than it looks from the outside and lobby area. Upon entering a small lobby, we were greeted by the clerk (I believe his name was "George"). He was kind, helpful, and had a good sense of humour. The lobby area smelled strongly of tobacco smoke, so I was concerned the smell may have creapt into the rooms. That was not the case. On our first visit we stayed on the second floor and enjoyed a quiet evening of sleep. Our room had two queen beds and a kitchenette. The property looked dated, but it was clean. I actually enjoyed the dated look, especially the Pepsi machine (with a Coca Cola label on it) on the second floor that looked like the ones I saw on family trips up to BC back in the 1960s and '70s. I'd never stayed at this motel before, but it had a strangely nostalgic feel about it. The continental breakfast was adequate. There were small bagels, bread, muffins, granola bars and fruit to eat and coffee, hot chocolate, and fruit juice to drink. There is no dining area, so we took the food back to the table in our room. There is a Korean/Japanese restaurant across the street (Sammi) and an A&W a bit further down. There is also a Coopers Supermarket and a government liquor store within walking distance about 150+ meters down the road. I think I used the computer at the front to check my e-mail once (yes, I still don't have a laptop to schlepp around on my trips). We enjoyed our stay the first time, so we booked a room on our way back through Hope the following week. The second time we stayed in room 102, on the first floor near the front. It was near the breakfast area, and I got a rude awakening by early risers conversing loudly in the hallway in front of my room. Although staying on the second floor requires climbing a rather steep set of stairs, I'd recommend staying there or further down the hallway near the indoor pool. No one used the pool during our stay in June, and perhaps the noise from those using it would have been a nuisance. Room 102 also suffered from pipe noise from upstairs rooms. When an upstairs guest used the shower it sounded like a giant woodpecker was banging on the ceiling of our room. I'm a light sleeper, however, and this did not seem to bother my wife or children. If I could get a room on the second floor or near the back on the first floor, I'd definitely stay there again. At $100 per night, it was more than adequate.

There aren't a whole lot of choices in this little town, but we thought that out of all of them,…read moreTravelodge would be the safest bet because it's a hotel chain that is known to us. We made our reservations on line that's why I was so surprised at how we were treated when we walked into the reception area at 1pm. The first thing that the woman in the smoke infused reception area said to us was, "Your rooms aren't ready yet! Check in is not until 3 o'clock! You'll have to come back then!" It was like she knew us, like we had been coming in and trying to check in early all morning just to annoy her. It was so weird. My brother and I (not being accustomed to being treated in such a hostile fashion) simply turned around and went back to the car. We had been driving all morning and we wanted to stop so we could swim in the lake, but began weighing our options about possibly staying elsewhere none the less. I wanted to cancel our rooms right then, and the more I thought about how she treated us, the angrier I got, but in the end, there wasn't anything else available. So we stayed... About the hotel: When you walk in it looks as if time has left this place behind, olive green bedspreads and all. It could actually work, it's totally groovy and retro but alas, no one loves this hotel so it just seems tired and worn down. Breakfast is free, so I won't complain but there isn't really anyplace to sit unless you are a smoker. There is a small smoking area where smokers can sit in the front of the hotel, and for the rest of the guests there is a chair, yes one chair by the entrance. There is an indoor pool and jacuzzi, but why go there when you can swim the the lake?? The small rooms have little kitchen areas and seemed clean enough if not a little musty and smoky. We didn't really expect a whole lot, a clean place to sleep and some courtesy. Depending on your standards, you may find the former here, the latter? No matter what your standards, regrettably, you will not find here. This is a place for people to stay when they are desperate for a place to stay and that is all. No love at this Travelodge.

Skagit Motor Inn - Must have been missed when cleaning? It grossed me out instantly.

We enjoyed our room (with two, queen beds), located at the back of the property. It was a location we have enjoyed during previous stays, and once again, sure worked well for this stay. Opened and closed door again. Nobody. Rang bell on counter. Nobody. Opened door again. Nobody. Seriously considered leaving except they had my credit card number. Finally a woman showed up. Didn't seem to speak English. Took my card and gave me a key and pointed. Thankfully room was clean and bed was ok. I was put off by sign that read "Kitchen user fee $10". Bathroom was very small, but it was clean. At this point I'm thinking breakfast better be spectacular for this price. Most places open breakfast room at 6am. Not here: it's 7:30am. Most cars have already gone. I went to breakfast room to get coffee and check it out. Bread and hot dogs!! and Cheerios. Not acceptable. I will never stay here again. It's a rip off.
