Go ahead and stop when you're in the area. Nice bar, music, some food. Not much around but it's worth a stop and a beer.

It has a great vibe and feels like a place you actually want to spend time at, not just grab a meal and leave. Everything about the experience feels well put together, from the service to the food to the overall setting. I would highly recommend Burnt Creek Farms to anyone visiting Port Austin or anyone local looking for a great place to eat, drink, and enjoy themselves. Easily one of my favorite spots in town.

The atmosphere is amazing, the food is consistently great, and the service has always been wonderful. Yes, service might occasionally move a little slower than what you're used to if you live in the city--but you're up north. Relax, enjoy the atmosphere, have a drink and slow down for a minute. That's part of what makes this place so enjoyable. I've probably been here 100 times over the years, and I'll happily come back another 100. There's just something special about Bear Creek Farms that keeps me coming back. Great food, great people, beautiful atmosphere and one of those places I genuinely look forward to visiting whenever I'm in the area. Absolutely love it. One of Michigan's best, and I can't recommend it enough.

For a while the waitresses stood around we could see them looking in our direction so maybe they were trying to figure out who's table we were. They did seem a little bit disorganized when it came to that. The waitress was very friendly and took our drink order and then when she brought the drinks she did not bring our napkins and silverware so my friend was unable to stir his coffee. It actually took quite a while until we were able to catch the waitress after that. I understand many of the waitresses and other restaurant employees are over worked and understaffed so I do get the situation. I guess I'm thinking if they were a little more organized they could have more efficient service. Just my opinion for what it's worth!! I got the egg white omelette with American fries and dry rye toast and it was actually very good other than one piece of the toast was burnt. My friend got the country special that came with eggs, choice of meat, biscuits and gravy. He said the bacon wasn't all that good but everything else was fine. The ladies room was clean but my friend said the men's restroom was terrible.

The service was excellent, as was the breakfast. Would definitely return if I'm ever in Bad Axe.read more

FireSide though, is a fantastic option. Typically we either order/eat in when we arrive to our place in Port Austin or if the weather is rainy, we'll order/eat in here as well. The place looked slightly different when we started coming here around 2018. They continue to remodel as ownership changes, improvements to food items and beverages, and overall quality of experience. On a Friday or Saturday night in the heart of summer, this place can get pretty slammed with people. However, it's 100% worth it. Their pizza is amazing! It's hard to remember if I've ever eaten anything else here in the 10+ times we've come, but I may have gotten a burger or sandwich once or twice. But like I said, their pizza is the bomb! When you walk in, it's been renovated a bit but the rest of the place has that rustic, "up northy" look to it!

We visited Smalley's Bar and Grill for dinner during a weekend trip to Harbor Beach. The restaurant…read moredefinitely has a casual bar atmosphere, with sports on the TVs, Keno, a pool table, darts, and plenty of bar-style seating. There weren't a ton of dinner options in town, so we decided to give it a try with our children. The service was excellent throughout our visit. Jessica and Elle both waited on our table, and they were prompt, attentive, and very polite. We started with the Bavarian pretzel for the kids, which came with cheese. It was pretty standard as far as pretzels go - not anything amazing, but certainly not bad either. Two of our children ordered the Koegel Vienna Hot Dogs with French fries, and our third ordered a children's portion of chicken tenders and fries. There isn't a traditional children's menu, but the staff explained that they can make smaller portions for kids, such as two chicken strips instead of four. My husband ordered the special, a Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich with French fries, and I ordered the Pecan Chicken Salad with the dressing on the side. Jessica recommended getting a side of ranch as well in case the raspberry dressing was too sweet for me, which turned out to be a great suggestion. The kids' hot dogs were surprisingly good and definitely better than the standard ballpark-style hot dog we were expecting. The chicken tenders were pretty standard frozen tenders, and the fries were good but nothing particularly unique. My husband really enjoyed his Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich. It tasted freshly made, and he said he would absolutely order it again. My Pecan Chicken Salad was the highlight of the meal for me - it was amazing! I had actually been craving a salad, which is unusual for me since I normally prefer a hot dinner, and this completely hit the spot. The raspberry dressing was delicious and sweet, while the ranch Jessica suggested made the salad a little more savory. I genuinely couldn't decide which I liked better and ended up mixing the two dressings together by the end of the meal! The restaurant itself could certainly use some updating, but everything was clean, the food came out quickly, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was casual and relaxing. Most importantly, the staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, we had a good experience and would return if we were in Harbor Beach again. We'd recommend Smalley's to anyone looking for a casual, reasonably priced meal with good service.
