A fantastic view from every chair!! A charming spot!

From fried wholebelly clams for lunch to the lobster for dinner, the seafood was fresh and outstanding!

Whoops. No TV & they didn't care

Review of The Inn On The Wharf Reviewed yesterday Beautiful view out my door, but i had a few challenges. I told the hotel twice that I would be arriving late, after 8pm. Nadia said she'd leave my room open. I arrived at 8:45 pm & was locked out. It was cold and very dark. I was very disappointed. The floors above me are definitely hard floors with no insulation, sounds like people are clog dancing up there and I can even hear the people upstairs talking. Doesn't make for a peaceful stay. After a day of touring, I was tired and wanted to watch a show. The TV wasn't working. I called the hotel at 5pm. I really thought they would send someone down to troubleshoot for me, as is usual and customary. Not only did she tell me there's no one on site (now I feel unsafe as well as feeling that the customer service is less than desirable, ) but she said, "Welcome to Lubec," in a sarcastic tone. I told her I was giving up, she told me that she was trying to help. I let her know that her comment wasn't helpful. Not only is the customer service lacking, but cleaning and maintenance leaves a bit to be desired. The plastic blinds are broken, people can see into my room and the cleaning person has obviously never cleaned behind the bathroom door. The towels are dingy and I wouldn't use one of the washcloths as it felt stiff like it was used. But the view was stellar.

Great location on water, views of Eastport and Campobello Island. Historic old canning factory. Very large rooms with good heating and beds are comfortable. Had breakfast which was excellent. In town location. Highly recommend and good value. Only about a dozen rooms. 2 minutes drive to Canada.

View from the Rum Runner room. Beautiful...no filter

First off if I could give 5 stars for the view alone I would...nothing comparable and pictures don't do it justice. The room was fine, but oh my gosh the noise from above was crazy! When I booked the room I thought we'd be upstairs, but I was wrong. The "room" above us was actually a whole house and sleeps multiple people...we could hear everything. In addition to hearing EVERY footstep, chair move and drawer pull and toilet seat slam, the creaking of the floors just topped it off. No, the people weren't partying or being overly loud or were a few different guest groups while we were there that came and went...just super thin walls and floor. Poor design. What worse than being on bottom floor of an apartment. I'd gladly stay there again, but definitely in a different a room.

Can't beat this location! Check-in and the restaurant, Fisherman's Wharf, is located in the former sardine factory. The rooms are located among three single family homes further up the hill, all facing the ocean with a great view of the islands and Canada. The room was decent for the price; it's been updated, with just a few issues such as no TV, no coffee cups, and then the coffeemaker didn't work. The shower was nice though, and I'm glad the heater worked because we came during a chilly time! This area is probably super nice during the summer.

Room in the factory was beautiful! Overnight stay was great. BUT Restaurant was awful. We were there on a Wednesday night, went in at 7:05 ; no tables available and no list. We were told 1st come seating but no one on charge to determine who in line or who at the 5 stool bar was next. If the waitress you spoke with had a clean table she told you to sit there even if others were waiting before you!$!$! Lots of waitstaff so that was good for ordering. We ordered lobster dinner-nothing fancy, and it finally was served at 8:40! (Photo stamp time doesn't lie). Our waitress must have been at the right place because she served us but we realized the table next to us who ordered lobster well before us still hadn't rec'vd theirs so we passed ours over to them. Would have walked out but other spots in town were not open. Someone got up and said they were going to the IGA to grab cheese sandwiches. The worst part----no one in charge seemed to care ! Don't waste your time here.

So disgusting. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. Ended up getting a refund and had to drive an hour to another hotel.

Nice, clean and modern rooms, absolutely breathtaking sunsets over the bay, and likely the best restaurant in town.

This place is located in one of the most beautiful areas in Maine. The grounds and the buildings are gorgeous, as are all of the surroundings. The exterior of the buildings is immaculately maintained and the landscaping is lovely. We stayed in the Cabin. I booked it because of location and the history of the building. The photos showed it was primitive but clean, and I'm fine with primitive, as long as it's clean. Check in process is very old fashioned...you arrive to find your name on a public bulletin board outside the office, and go to your unlocked cabin to find your keys and a printed welcome note with instructions. Obviously this is not an automated process, and a decent amount of effort goes into this process every day. It was actually quaint. The management had sent a very nice email with a long, detailed list of interesting things to do & amazing sights in the area, along with how to access them. This was very thoughtful & helpful! As stated earlier, the location is breathtaking. Several wildflowers were blooming, including lupines, and the sweeping views of the water were just gorgeous. We loved strolling the grounds and got some amazing photos. It truly felt like "real Maine", not some tourist version. When we arrived & got into the cabin, we noticed an odor that went beyond the usual musty old cabin smell. But it was still at the beginning of the season, so I assumed the old cabin had been shut up all winter and just needed to be aired out. It was fairly dark inside even with the curtains open. I was disappointed to see the leather chair that looked comfy in the photos was actually very old and the seat had what looked to be broken springs showing through, so we didn't sit on it. The kitchen appeared clean & very well appointed with everything you'd need to cook your own meals, including a full size fridge, toaster, microwave and a gas range, and every cooking and eating utensil, including a tea kettle. The bathroom appeared clean, with thick towels, a hair dryer, and soaps/shampoo/conditioner. We opened the windows to let the fresh air in, anxious to go exploring the lighthouse and surrounding area. When we returned, the cabin had still not aired out. Upon turning down the beds, we saw there was a lot of pet hair on the bedspread and on the pillowcases and sheets (we were not traveling with animals). Upon turning on the lamps we saw the shades were stained and there were cobwebs and piles of pet hair on the floors and in the corners, and it was at this point that we noticed one of the bath towels didn't look clean. I'd now lost faith, but there is very little in the way of other places to stay in the area & it was already getting late. My husband said "it's only one night" and we were getting up early the next morning anyway, so we quickly ran to the local Dollar General just before they closed and bought our own blankets and towels. We made the best of it, getting up at 4am (the sky was already getting light at this time) to see the sunrise at West Quoddy Lighthouse, which was an amazing experience! In the light of the morning we saw just how much pet hair was on the floors, and it was pretty gross, but by then we were leaving, heading out for our next adventure. This is my advice to anyone booking the Cabin at West Quoddy Station: check your expectations. We didn't experience any of the spaces other than the Cabin, so this review is only for that particular building. The Cabin IS quite primitive, it smells very musty, and the level of clean was not to our personal satisfaction. But if you're up for some history and adventure and as my husband says "you don't mind feeling like you're staying in some random guy's hunting cabin", you might find yourself having an adventure in an historic building at one of the most beautiful spots in the U.S.

We stayed in Crews Quarters. Aside from the dust throughout the place, it was a cute house and…read morewould have been a fun family rental with a beautiful view had the weather been warmer. Unfortunately, this building is not adequately heated. Both the primary heater and a gas-powered ceramicwood stove are located in the main room. We couldn't get the ceramic stove to fire an actual flame beyond the pilot light so we had only the main heater, which didn't even really warm up the main room very well. The bedrooms were freezing and, therefore, miserable for sleeping even with extra blankets. The mattress on my bed was average but not super comfortable. It is really close and convenient for early morning access to the lighthouse to watch the sunrise and hike the park land.
