Quality Inn - Little breakfast nook with a few of the river nice little table and couch

It's an older Inn. But They are trying to update it and seem to be doing a great job. Some areas…read moreare still dated but the rooms are very nice and clean. We stayed upon recommendation from friends. They even have bowling. Dated but lots of fun. Pool and hot tub are nice too. We had the room with the Jacuzzi 2 person . The view was of the river and was very nice. We also enjoyed the restaurant. The entrance has a nice fireplace and couch as well, but we didn't use it. The only negative thing the soundproofing isn't really good so if you have loud children, you can hear them through the walls.

Quality inn?? More like Garbage Bin!…read more I have never experienced more issues at a motel than here. There were countless amounts of problems that I've experienced that I am not listing here because there are simply too many to remember. First off, as soon as I walked in, I thought I was on set to a horror movie. The carpet looked like it was ripped straight out of The Shining. Not a pleasant first impression. Next, as I walked up the stairs to my room, I noticed the chic stone wall design on the staircase, but once I touched it, I was flabbergasted. It was not real stone! I'd assume when a place is named Quality Inn that they wouldn't have "stone" made out of cheap plaster. Once I finally reached my room after a pain staking walk (since no one was willing to help me bring up my 7 luggages) I couldn't even enter the room because the ugly carpet was catching on the door. After finally winning an intense battle with the door, it came to my surprise that my room had 2 double beds, when I asked for 1 since I came by myself. At the end of my visit, i was charged a whole extra $15.67 that I could've invested towards Common Five-Lined Skink bait. The first night i wanted to do what every normal person would do when they had a long day and sit back and watch some TV. Apparently, at Quality inn, static TV channels are their most streamed channel. Lovely. When I decided to hit the hay, I wanted to know what the time was. And who would've known that would be such a complicated task. The clock sitting on the nightstand was a whole minute faster than the real time. Time is money, and I am not getting my money's worth, as they state. The next day, after coming back from my unsuccessful Common Five-Lined Skink fishing trip in the river behind the motel, since I did not have breakfast because they do not have continental breakfast, I decided I needed to unleash my stress. And what better way than to go bowling. To my surprise, Quality Inn has a very nice bowling alley. I walked in and was about to roll my bowl, but an employee quickly charged at me which startled me and said "sir, access to the bowling alley is a $10 fee". I could not believe it. How could I be paying hundreds of dollars per night and not be allowed to roll a ball and knock some pins over without an extra cost?? As I stormed out of the alley, I needed to use the washroom. I was stuck for 17 minutes trying to find it because their directions are so unbelievably unclear. They had one sign pointing left, and another right under it pointing right. What am I supposed to do?? Take a leak right under the sign?? If there was an option for zero stars, it would be too high of a praise to give. Quality Inn claims that anyone who stays here sure will have their quality time and get their money's worth. Excuse my harsh language, but I feel like a loser for buying into this scam of a motel. Don't fall for the same trap that I did.

Bring the following when staying at this hotel: -extension…read morecords and power bars as there are hardly any extra outlets in the room. - 2ply toilet paper as the ones supplied by the hotel pretty much disintegrates in your hand. - air fresheners as the room reeks everyday even after cleaning. - change for local laundromat as there is no machines on site. - food as there is no breakfast served in mornings. - nose plugs as the managers office has funky smell every day you go in. - your own plug stopper for the bath tub for those who like to take them, that or you need to ask the front desk manager for a stopper. - your own coffee maker or tea kettle as those are not supplied. - your own alarm clock as none is supplied. - no phone is supplied for local phone calls. Be prepared to have damp clothes, the A/C unit makes them damp over time while in use. The change filter light has been on for two days, even with management notified when it came on. Day 3 of our trip and this issue still hasn't been addressed. *Update* Day 4 came back to the filter changed. Don't bother bringing your HDMI cable to hook up your laptop. Niether the remote nor the buttons on the tv allow you to change the input to watch movies. Wifi is spotty at best, took 3-4 hours one evening to download an update for an app. Door not very secure, only has a handle lock on the outside, nothing inside to firmly secure it. A good swift kick or shoulder push could easily bypass it. *Update* Day 4 we came back to a chain lock on inside of door installed, thank you very much! :) Burn marks from cigarettes on the rug (in a non-smoking room) litter the floor. Parking spaces not well made. Day 3 we came back from our outings to find no clean linen, no bags in the garbage bins, toilet paper roll not replaced in bathroom, the plastic cups not replaced. *Update* Day 4 we came back to linens fully restocked, toilet paper and garbage bags replaced, thank you again :) Only thing cool and modern about this room was the light up mirror in the bathroom, which itself looks like it's been updated, but rather poorly. Definitely not worth the $600+ we spent to stay here there. Only positive I can take from this place is that tho only staff member I've seen is very friendly with nice manners. Most likely not to recommend or stay here ever again. Certainly be looking for another place to stay next year.

The lakeside Boathouse Restaurant is OK but mainly casual and for me uninspiring fare. Service is efficient and staff attentive. Somewhat expensive but reflective of the resort and its generally well-heeled clientele. The Chalet/Condominium style accommodation, not that we experienced it, has catering facilities. This would be advantageous for many as nearby Gravenhurst offers limited and unexciting dining and Bracebridge much the same. During our stay it was mainly large families and the beach areas were lively and crowded, although guests had the option of three pools in the complex.. The attached golf course is renowned and highly regarded in the golfing community and not for high handicappers. Again, another expensive aspect of this resort. However, If you are not budget conscious and enjoy spectacular views and lake activities it should easily provide a satisfactory break or vacation for every age group.

The beds are absolutely incredible leading to the best sleeps ever! We've stayed in both resort view and lakeview rooms and love them all the same. The staff go out of their way to make your stay great from recommendations for dinner to going above and beyond! They heard we had recently got engaged so when we arrived there was a lovely note from the staff saying congratulations. One year we came up for thanksgiving which was a couple of days after my husband's birthday and when we got to our room there was a lovely happy birthday card and a bottle of wine which we enjoyed while watching the sunset. The golf course was lovely. It was perfect for both our levels, challenging but fun. They space out tee times so you really feel like you are the only ones on the course. We always have a great time at Taboo and we'll keep coming back! :D
