All of the staff were very friendly and thorough. I'm very regular about my dentist visits (every 6 months) and have seen a couple different ones the past few years from moving around states - but Chung and his staff were able to identify a dead tooth/infection that I apparently had for a few years (they could tell it's been there a while based on the size of the infection growth shown in the x-rays). I'll need to get a root canal procedure to stop the infection from spreading! I'm appalled that my past dentists never caught this. They also pointed out several minor cavities & teeth grinding, and gave me suggestions on what I could do to solve those issues - ex. Filling the cavities, getting a mouth guard, and general tips on how I can be eating/brushing better to avoid these problems. The office lady also said she would check with my insurance to see what my out of pockets cost were and let me know, so that I could decide if I'd like to proceed with coming back for the additional work needed. I'll come back to update my review then, but great impression so far!

Since moving out of NYC and to San Diego, I had seen multiple dentists and they said I didn't need any cavities filled. I feel upset because I got ripped off paying thousands out of pocket to this office. I have wasted so much money and feel taken advantage of. This really is upsetting considering my past review rated them 5/5 would recommend. I would appreciate some response or compensation for this.

The clinic overall is fine, and the doctors I've met were all professional and kind. But there's…read moresomething that really bothered me. I booked my appointment with Dr. X, yet both times I ended up being treated by a different doctor -- and they didn't tell me until I was already sitting in the chair. If this happened once, I'd understand; things come up, schedules change. But when it happens twice, it starts to feel like they're doing it on purpose. If they had called me in advance to explain or ask if I was okay seeing another doctor, I would have said yes -- but they didn't even try. I've never seen this happen at any other dental clinic. I completely understand that new doctors need opportunities, and honestly, the new doctor did a good job. But patients deserve to know in advance who will be treating them. You can't just switch doctors without notice -- that's not how trust or professionalism works. I hope the clinic can improve communication about this in the future.

It is the main reason that my husband and I have been going back even it means to travel from Brooklyn. Over the years, the attitude of Dr. Cho has changed to be impatient with growth of patients. The front desk person complained about sending the bills to the secondary insurer and would not mention the bill adjustment until the question was raised by the patient. This gradual deterioration of service and experience made it very difficult for us to return, even though I was once a regular customer.

For me, the most beautiful quality is that he is extremely ethical. Would never force any dental work that is not necessary. A previous dentist told me I needed work on a tooth. Estimated to $2,000.00. Dr. Loflin had moved and I didn't know where his new office was. Luckily, I was thrilled to locate him. I went back to see him. He took X-rays of my tooth from every side, with a lot of attention. My tooth had no damage. I did not need the work. He could have agreed with the other, done unnecessary work and scam me out of $2,000.00. I know that he cares about me and does his best for me. I've sent a few people to him and they all "love" him. I recommend them so much that when my boyfriend had insurance that only covered certain dentists that he didn't feel very good about (and I didn't trust that they weren't trying to up-charge him for non-existent needs) I put him on my dental insurance so that he could start going to Innovative Dental. They've done right by him and made him significantly less anxious to go to the dentist despite having to do several procedures including a root canal. Now his teeth are set back on the right path! Back in 2018 my dental insurance changed and I had to go to a nearby dentist practice instead. It was the kind where you never see the same dentist twice. They told me that I had a cavity between my teeth and that I should have flossed. I almost came out of the chair swinging because I floss every night. As I was leaving I heard them upselling expensive toothbrushes in the next room. I then decided to start going back to Innovative Dental even if my dental insurance didn't cover it because I didn't trust those dentists. Dr Mithani is 1000% trustworthy and so gentle with teeth. Plus, he really remembers me, my needs, my mouth so well between visits. I always feel really cared for here :)
