I visited Inluro for a girls' night and overall had a really nice experience. When I first walked in, the place smelled amazing. The space is open, cozy, and beautifully set up with candles, scents, and other products along one wall, plus a large bar area where all the candle-making happens. Once I found my friends, we were greeted right away and started our session. We began by choosing our scents. My friend asked a few questions about scent profiles & while the staff member helping us was friendly, the guidance was a little limited. She mostly encouraged us to "explore and figure out what you like first," which was totally fine, but I think my friend was looking for a bit more direction. There are tons of scents to choose from, though I did notice a few had a slightly chemical note under the main fragrance. I ended up choosing vanilla bean, cinnamon and vanilla, and snickerdoodle, and the mix turned out perfect. After picking our scents, we chose our candle holders. They had a good variety, but the cuter ones all had the store logo printed on them, which I personally found a little tacky, so I went with one without the branding. At the bar, our instructor walked us through the process of slowly mixing our scents and smelling as we went. Following her advice really helped because my candle turned out beautifully and exactly how I imagined. After pouring the oils and stirring for a few minutes, we were done. Compared to another candle-making class I've taken, this experience was much quicker and less detailed, so if you're looking for something deeply involved, this might feel pretty simple. But if you want a cute, quick activity and a nice candle to take home, it's perfect. read more

Twas an awesome & relatively affordable experience. The staff walked us through every part of the process & social distancing was enforced as well as sanitizing between customers. I appreciated the fact that there were some "ordinary" scents as well as some "out of the ordinary scents" so there's really something to appeal to everyone's taste & pallet. There was plenty of free parking & about a block away was the Geneva lake which could be an attraction since the candles take 90 minutes to make. There's an assortment of products to choose from such as bath bombs, hand sanitizers, diffusers, candles & even soaps. The process start with you smelling several scents & keeping note of your favorites. From there's you begin mixing oils at your leisure & then depending on which product you choose, you're done. Scentcerely Yours is a cute find in downtown Geneva. My husband found it for us for a date night. I would anticipate being there an hour minimally and then if you would like your candle right away to hang out within the area for an hour and half to allow for you candle to have its set time. You do have to call and schedule a reservation as spacing is limited due to COVID, however when we went it did not feel as though they had limited their spacing as it was a almost a full house. They told us when we called they could normally fit 20 people but that it would only be 10 for COVID restrictions and that was not the case when we went. As we were there, we also noticed that they do not have any cleaning protocols in place and did not wipe down the counters after someone left prior to the next person sitting down to make their candle or fragrance. Once you've smelt all of the fragrances and picked your top ones, they go through them with you and recommend which ones go good together. You then go to the wall with all the oils (as pictured) and pick your top 3-4 and start to pour drops into your small measuring cup they give you. You can switch out fragrances as often as you need but I would recommend sticking to the base you like and figuring out which other one would go. After you're done, they melt the wax for you and you pour your mixture in, mix it, and then they take it from you to allow for setting time. We returned that same night to pick up our candles and burnt the one in the white jar the next day. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my scent that I created, however, the candle is not very fragrant for the $28 you spend on one. This place is moreso about the experience and not necessarily for a candle that you will smell throughout your house/room. Im not sure if others have experienced this with their candles but I will keep you posted when we burn the one my husband made to see if this is also the case with his. Overall, I'd recommend this as a cute and fun date night place. read more

This afternoon my husband & I checked out the new creative candle making experience shop in downtown Geneva. Often I get asked by people what are fun things to do in Geneva or unique date night ideas, well this place definitely should go on your list of places to go check out. You start off with a clipboard & you smell a large variety of different scents & you write down the ones that you enjoy. Step two you sit down & fine tune on the two-three scents that you love the most & you start creating your candle, room spray, or body spray. You decide the measurements of the scents you pick & next you wait for your creation to set. I highly recommend going to this place before a lunch or dinner date so you can leave & go check out one of the many great restaurants in town while your candle sets. The shop owners Susi & Rob are really kind & will even offer to drop off your creations to you if your dining in town. When it comes to understanding the importance of providing that next level of wow customer service, these two have got it down to a science. They even offer mini versions for wedding favors or bridal showers. My husband & I both really enjoyed our afternoon of candle making fun, even though our White Sox game got rained out we still made the most of our time off work together. This place is family friendly too, so even taking the kids would be something fun to do as a family creating something together. read more

This place is AMAZING!!! My hubby and I visited while on a 32nd anniversary getaway in Geneva. It was so much fun! Melissa was super-helpful and allowed us to take our time finding just the right scents. I made lotion. My hubby made a candle. I was expecting the lotion base to be watery and thin (since the main focus would be the scent), but instead the lotion was surprisingly thick and luxurious. Took the day off last Monday and decided to pop into this store. What a cool idea and place! There's an entire wall of different scented candles peppered with little burlap bags of coffee beans so as to "clear the nasal palette" while sniffing for your favorites. I wasn't sure if I wanted to partake in creating my own scent but quickly changed my mind after smelling scents entitled Dad's Den (think a wonderful cherry pipe smell) and Old Books (crazy, right?) My boys treated me to a special Mother's Day treat of making our own candles, because I'm quite obsessed with candles. We spent extra on a cute containers because we were told that they would be cheaper to refill. When we went back to pick up the candles I asked how much it was to refill the container. I was told it was only a few dollars off. So after spending $36 per container( which I thought would be the expensive part) I probably won't go back unless they change the price point of refilling the wax. Custom candles, custom lotions/scrubs, bath bombs, etc. They have endless choices. I made an orange/vanilla/whipped creme lotion today - amazing. I think my all time fav candle is baked bread, tupelo honey and burnt sugar. They have pre-poured candles that are super reasonable priced, in adorable containers (maybe 150 different ones?). Then you can customize up to 3 scents (like Patchouli, Myrrh, Bergamot or whatever you like). Then you pick the container you want to put it in. You make a custom label so it is great for gifts. I think the goats milk lotion and bath bombs are literally LIFE CHANGING! LOVE YOU GUYS! I cannot think of any other place for gifts now! It is fun to actually make yourself. Five friends and I made scented candles today, but we could have also made lotion, body scrub, wax tarts, or reed diffusers. They have a nice variety of different containers in various shapes and colors to suit different tastes. Rob and Susie were really helpful and patient in assisting us with our scent combos. I visited this place over the weekend for a "girls night out" and had so much! The venue is beautiful, and it was such a unique experience creating my very own/personal scent. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on what scents work well together...or don't. We had the place to ourselves, as you are able to request a private event after hours.
