I went in one day looking for a card when i happened to be passing. It is down next to a sunbed shop, a housing office and a pub so i imagine it doesn't get too much passing trade. It is so cut inside; bright, white and airy and smelling of all the gorgeous goodies on the shelves. I spotted loads of things i liked. Cute little teapots, Arran Aromatic style toiletries, wicker baskets, glittery gift tags and a gorgeous wee range of baby things. There are a few really unusual wedding gift ideas and other gifts for all occasions including birthdays, christenings and engagements. I bought a friend's baby a little ceramic letter 'J' for his bedroom door, adorned with a cute mouse in a Green jumper and she loved it. It was a really unusual thing to find! I also ordered a handmade ceramic glittery name plaque for a little girls first birthday, which i had personalised and ready for me to collect in two weeks. They even have a Yankee Candle stand, which i adore! The staff are lovely, inviting and very helpful and they always seem to have time to chat. There is a costume for every occasion and here in Lanarkshire that's a pretty niche market, there aren't many reputable fancy dress shops and Dazzle certainly filled that void. At Halloween, this shop is literally stowed out and if you leave it till the last minute, chances are you will be waiting in queues for at least a couple of hours, if you're lucky. Fancy dress isn't a cheap business so expect to pay quite a bit for some impressive looking, but actually very cheaply made costumes. This is par for the course when buying any prepackaged fancy regalia. However, you really can get everything in here from sailors to witches, bumble bee's to Wonder Woman and everything in between. They also sell the bits and bobs to go with them like the ridiculously high stiletto boots and shoes, petticoats, hats, masks and face-paints. You could spend hours in here just browsing. My personal favourite costume is the Foreplay Seven Seas Seductress pirate costume which would turn a few heads. The downside? It's 99.00. Fantastic for your fancy dress needs and wants, but expect to pay a pretty penny.

From the minute she put it on it started to fall apart, the 'decorative trim' pretty much fell off in my hand as i put it on her. I paid nearly 30 pounds for this outfit for a 5 year old child (i must have been out of my mind) and let me tell you, i have since gone to Sainsburys and bought the same dressing up outfit which was much nicer material and it was much better made, better still it cost me half the price!!! I did attempt to broach this subject with the manager of Dazzle, but she was extremely unhelpful and refused to replace the outfit (i didn't ask for a refund, all i wanted was a replacement or a repair, but i was refused either). I will NEVER use this store again, it is over priced (i also bought a Moshi Monster toy for my daughter, then later found it down the road in Argos for 5 pounds cheaper), the outfits are badly made and made of very cheap material, i could have sewn one myself and it would have held together better - i wish i had and the manager was very unhelpful and rude!! I would have written this review earlier, but my daughter has been unwell in hospital. I just hope no one has been ripped off by the over priced and bad quality outfits due to my delay in writing this.

It is quite a small branch but still stocks a range of materials in various colours, ribbons of all widths and colours. They also have buttons, zips and other sewing bits and pieces. The staff are okay but the last time I was in one customer was being served and so I approached the other who was not really the happiest to be approached!

They also do a big range of gift wrapping and bags, in fact the whole back of the shop is dedicated to this. I particularly liked the little hat boxes for gifts, a really unusual and gorgeous way of presenting a gift. This branch of Hallmark also specialises in Yankee Candles, which I am a huge fan of, although they are a bit of an extravagance at upwards of 10 pounds each. Great if you are looking for a nice card for a special occasion, but just be prepared to shell out a little more for it in here.

The cheap cards are good enough quality for the price - in fact I have not found better value anywhere else, including in Asda or the other supermarkets. They also sell wrapping paper and a few gifts and the store is well laid out with clearly marked sections. Staff are friendly and helpful and I enjoy going in to this card shop to stock up on cards - not always for the cheapest options though.
