Went to AJ to do a custom piece. It turned out nice. Wanted to do some color enhancement and talk to her about another custom piece. She has difficulty keeping appointment times. I was to meet her one day at 1pm and because of past problems with her "writing down the time wrong", at 1230pm I texted her to say I was on my way. Sure enough she texted me back and said, "I thought it was at 430." It was NEVER at 430, I referred her to the text message string. She said, "Ok. I'll be there at 115." While I was driving there she came up with a lame excuse that the owner wasn't at the shop, she couldn't get in and would have to go find him. I was around the corner and said "Forget it". Cuz who knows how long it was gonna take her to "Go find the owner". Tried to set another appointment and now she's not responding to my texts. After I made a $50 deposit to hold the spot at 1:00, she blew off the appointment and now won't respond. I'll eat the $50. And I won't have her do any more work for me. The only reason I'm giving her two stars is because the piece she did turned out nice. read more

This place is super weird vibes.. interesting marketing strategies they employ. Just basic communication was incompetent and unprofessional. Couldn't imagine having someone who can't communicate with a sense of competency to tatoo something that is important to you and permanent. in Their defense I was booked short notice, however not by my design. by the artist. When I showed up I was treated with disrespect and was very turned off by the way situation was handled. It's like we never even talked and I walked in randomly. I covered up a horrid 17 year old tattoo mistake on my back. (Kids, don't ever let your friends use you as a guinea pig for them 'learning' how to tattoo). I came into Ink Therapy for my first tattoo. I had no idea what to expect. Initially I had spoken to Aj, who's supper bubbly personality made for a great first impression. I had talked to her about getting a tattoo done that day. Although she was booked for the day, she immediately called up Anthony to see if he was available. Later on in the day, I returned to see Anthony for my tattoo. I came in and told him exactly what I wanted and he exceeded my expectations. His artwork is amazing! I love my tattoo! Especially for it being my first. Anthony himself, he's a super cool, chill guy! Extremely talented, as well! He was easy to talk to, and very patient, which helped calm my nerves. My best friend & I have gotten a couple spontaneous tattoos together in the past when we were in college in Southern California but I recently moved back up to the Portland area and we were wanting another tattoo. We were looking up reviews and saw that Ink therapy had great reviews so we called and luckily AJ was there! She normally doesn't work Sundays but she was able to get us in. She is an incredible artist & even better person! She did such a great job helping us figure out the exact design we wanted and was able to draw it up quick. She took her time making sure it was perfect for us. When she thought it was done, she would add a little bit more to make it even better and that was amazing! Not many tattoo artists will put that extra effort in to really please the customer but she definitely did. She went above & beyond in all aspects. She made the experience wonderful and was an all around awesome woman. We will definitely be back for more!!! Gladly spreading her cards around to our friends!
