Solid artists, friendly atmosphere, and local to Azle. Appointments on weekdays, but walk-ins on Saturdays.

I did a walk-in tattoo with Oliver. He was very professional and patient to talk with me through…read morethe ideas I had, since I didn't exactly know what I wanted. It was very well done and I'm really happy with my new ink. The atmosphere was very welcoming and laid back. Definitely will be coming back and highly recommend!

While I understand that those qualities that make a great tattoo artist are not always the same…read morequalities that make a great businessman, Renegade Ink is nonetheless guilty of terrible business. I share this experience to warn others what they might be getting themselves into. I put a $60 deposit in cash in May of 2021 for a tattoo I expected to receive a month later, and forwent receiving a receipt (stupid me). Shortly thereafter my son was hospitalized and I decided to cancel the appointment; it just didn't seem like the smartest time anymore to spend money on tattoo ink. I phoned Renegade Ink, conveyed this to the receptionist, and asked about a receipt. She said she'd get back to me and never did. I then reached out to Justin Headstone (owner of Renegade Ink) through Instagram, where we had been communicating previously, and he said he understood why I canceled the appointment, but ghosted me when I brought up the subject of the receipt. For reference, that conversation is the image dated June 7th. A few weeks later someone from the office contacts me via text message, and asks me when I was going to get my sleeve finished. Apparently no one there communicates with anyone else who works there. I repeated to this new employee the same thing I told Justin, and asked AGAIN about a receipt. AGAIN, I was ghosted. For reference, that conversation is the image dated July 12th. At this point I went to see Justin in person, to personally ask him for a receipt. He claimed to not be able to find any receipt templates, but swore up and down that he would honor the deposit whenever I felt ready to get inked again. I asked, "well what if I come back in a year and you don't work here anymore?" To which he replied, "I own the place. I'm not going anywhere." In March of this year I finally went back to Renegade Ink, ready to get this tattoo. Justin, as promised, still worked there, and took my phone number claiming he would contact me shortly when he knew better his schedule availability. ONCE AGAIN, I was ghosted. This shocked me. While I understand getting ghosted for a receipt, I still don't understand how you ghost a customer trying to receive something THEY HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR. Justin finally responded to me once I said to him I wanted my deposit back and would see a different artist. For reference, that conversation is the image dated March 15th. He ignored my text on March 15th, ignored my text on March 18th, and then swore he would contact me on March 19th. On March 21st I said again I wanted my deposit back, and he once again gives me this sob story. After March 16th I gave up trying to reach him electronically. I showed up to Renegade Ink in person two weeks ago. Justin wasn't there, but his employees copied down my number and vowed they would make him respond to me. That was two weeks ago and I still have heard nothing. I share this not because I suspect others will have similar experiences, but because I want people to know the sort of person they are entering into a contract with. I've always believed a person is only as good as their word; at the moment, Justin is not good for his word. I will wait to see if Renegade Ink publicly responds to this review with any indication of remorse or culpability for their actions. I might be waiting for some time, however.

Today I sat outside the shop for 40 minutes for my SCHEDULED appointment, waiting for at least someone to get there because they're closed for some reason. This is NOT the first time that he's blown me off or cancelled or rescheduled last second. Now he's not answering my texts or calls and I am seriously considering taking this to small claims court. This is so upsetting and ridiculous. I wanted this tattoo to be done for my son's birthday but I guess I should have read all the reviews about him being a scammer.

There was nothing drawn up, it was printed words with clip art. It wasn't the wording I was concerned about, it was the color... When it came time for the color, he literally just made a huge black block over what needed to be covered up. Then when it came time for it to be colored, it was supposed to be a watercolor style galaxy... I didn't see it until it was over BC it's on my side. It ended up being blocky random colors that look like bruises around a black box. It's by far the worst tattoo I've ever had. I've cried so much over it. Also, I'm pretty sure the needle was not changed between my husband and me. Do not go here! Also, markets himself as a Christian shop yet called me a "p*ssy" and said several vulgar things while I was getting worked on. I went to 2 other shops to see what it would take to fix this mess and they both said the black blob would need to be lasered or I'd have to go much bigger with a lot of dark.

I got my lips pierced here and how disappointed I am with the result. So firstly this is not my…read morefirst piercing, but it is my first piercing at this establishment. Going to be totally honest, I've never written reviews, so to anyone reading this, please take this as your sign to reconsider coming here _. Firstly let's start with the environment, the workers here were pretty nice. I had no issue with their attitude or with the way they treated me. Though I did feel a bit uncomfortable when getting pierced. Often when I get pierced at my usual spot, it's always just me and my piercer alone, but here, it seemed like all the employees wanted in on the action lol Since I wanted to try a new place out, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. So for the piercing itself, while I was getting it done, my piercer was a little shaky and hesitant on the placement of the lips. Her unsureness really worried me, but I stayed calmed and put trust in the process (not a good idea). Eventually it was time to get pierced and it was not too bad, now when she was done. I wasn't given much advice on the aftercare. They did try to sell me their own aftercare, but im pretty sure it would have been of their best interest to let me know what to buy from a genuine store/pharmacy and what to use to make sure the healing process goes well... Anyways, one of the piercings were crooked :( Ok so it was bothering me and so I decided to give the owner a text. He lets me know I can come in and get it repierced. So I show up to the store and the owner himself repierced it. Thought he didn't give me any mouthwash for when I got it repierced :0 I don't know whether it was safe to have repierced an already wounded piercing, but since they were the piercer, they told me they could repierce it and it would just swell. Ok so I go through with it. Big mistake. I got it pierced at 2 pm, and around 5 pm I noticed a bit of bruising and by 9 pm, the bruising got worse. I texted the owner to voice my concerns and they told me that it was normal due to the trauma for being pierced twice, I guess I could somewhat understand that. The bruising gets worse and there's bleeding and lots of swelling. I figured it probably did just need a bigger bar. I kept waking up in the middle of the night with pain in my lips and the swelling getting worse :/ Eventually I decided to contact my usual piercer, so I go to their store and when I showed them the issue, they told me that I needed to take it out immediately and that hopefully the jewelry was not stuck to my lip. So they take me to the back and take out the piercing, which luckily comes out. There's non stop bleeding to which my piercer has to hold down towels to make sure I don't bleed out. He then tells me to go to the ER near by (._.) I go the er, they let me know that a vessel was pierced and they have prescribed me antibiotics. I was lucky that the bleeding stopped. I go back to my piercer and they also informed me that not only was that one piercing done incorrectly, but that the other piercing was pierced at a wrong angle. So both piercings in the end weren't don't correctly _ Please be mindful of where you get your piercings.
