I've been shopping at the Factory Shoe Outlet for several years now, and have figured out that it's…read moreone of those places you have to just check every now and then. Sometimes I find exactly what I want; other times, I can't find anything suitable. Despite the name of the store, the prices here aren't what you'd think of as "outlet low". They're pretty much similar to local shoe stores. But if you check the local newspaper, you'll probably see coupons for $5 or $10 off, and they sometimes have sales ("buy one get the second pair for half off"). Personally, I go for the Birkenstocks. The store carries a decent range of Birks, though the sizes are often hit-and-miss. The Factory Shoe Outlet's strength is in the selection - it's nice to have such a variety of popular brands and styles all in one location. And the staff is quite helpful. Though I may not always find what I'm looking for, often while I look for one particular item, I'll find another new brand to try. Finally, it's just fun to browse the aisles, so I'll likely continue to check the Factory Shoe Outlet regularly in hopes of finding a great Birkenstock on sale.

I brought in a pair of boots that I had contacted customer service regarding a refund. The customer service rep informed me that he had put a note on my file and that I can just bring the item to the store and get my refund. Ingrid did not even try to help even though I explained what happened. Not only that, but she would interrupt me every time I was trying to explain what I was told by customer service. She didn't even offer to call customer service and speak to them; I had to do that and return with "proof" of the refund authorization. She didn't even come to the front to apologize or speak to me, was hiding in the back. How did she even get to be a manager, her communications and professionalism are horrible.

Here's what I…read morethought: PROS - huge store with rows upon rows of shoes organised into casual, dressy, heels, boots, etc. - tons of staff - perhaps too much - but all well-trained to ask customers if they needed any help - clearance section already in half-swing (it exists, although selection depends on your size) - same self-serve approach as per their U.S. locations - staff was friendly and helpful, if they didn't know the answer they would ask their manager - convenient place to shop for shoes as it's one giant warehouse full of men's/women's shoes + accessories - they also sell accessories, but personally, I NEVER look in this section for purses, scarves, wallets, sunglasses, etc. - FREE WI-FI for the men with a coupla couches, although I personally couldn't get it to work while I shopped! - washrooms available as well CONS - prices are about comparable to Winners/Marshalls, so definitely not "cheap". Women's heels averaged $50-80 - NO high-end brands. Best brands were Frye, Ugg, some Cole Haan/Coach, then Nine West, Steve Madden, Ivanka Trump, & cheaper, made in China shoes.
