Not the best atmosphere and the service is a hit and miss. The technician who did my nails couldn't shape them the way I wanted (she could only do the round shape) and I ended up with very short nails because of constant filing and failing to shape my nails as asked. Also, don't expect a hand exfoliation, massage or even simple buffing of your nails. What you get is quite basic! Not a great selection of nail polish colours but that depends on individual taste. Love love loved my experience here. I came for the first time to be waxed. That can be a little awkward however the front staff were so pleasant and my aesthetician Debbie was so professional yet personable that I really enjoyed my experience. I just enjoyed my third trip to this Aveda Salon and Spa, and I will definitely be going back! My first two experiences there were for manicures. I had the pleasure of being seen by Sarah, who is a first class esthetician. I suffer from terrible eczema on my hands and Sarah knew just what to do to give me a beautiful manicure and make my poor hands happy. Last night I had the pleasure of getting some foils and a cut from Taylor. She is fabulous. Very knowledgeable and helpful when trying to decide on a slightly updated style. As with all Aveda spas, the prices are a little higher, but at Infusion you really do get what you pay for. I've been to Infusion twice. The first thing that struck me is how calm it feels inside. It's beautifully decorated with warm colours and has a very professional feel. The staff are very friendly and I felt very welcome. What I didn't know when I booked is that they are licensed. My friend and I had booked the first appointment together (a masssage) and were a little early so had a glass of wine first. Well! This really ads to helping you relax! I have not tried the esthetician services so can't speak of those but overall my experience has been excellent. The pricing also is fair (about average). read more

After a week of emailing a list of salons, looking to find a spot that could accommodate 8 of us, and not to mention on the thanksgiving long weekend, I only heard back from 3 spa's! Kate (the owner) at Infusion was one of the first to respond. She could not have been more accommodating, and to be honest, she had me at "liquor licence"! Yep that is right, why not enjoy a nice glass of Pinot why you get pampered.. We went as a part of a stagette, and we had an assortment of services, massages, body wraps, manicure, pedicures, you name it and our bodies had it done. I found the prices to be reasonable about on average, but felt the salon itself was above average. The room we were in was awesome, we basically had it to our selves, we brought in some fruit trays, were served mimosa's and had a great day at the spa. I have nothing but good things to say about the wonder full ladies that worked there, and it has been two weeks and my shellac manicure is still rocking it! We loved it so much we booked to go back the day before the wedding in Dec. Everyone that had massages raved how great it was, so I can't wait to try one.. oh and maybe another glass of wine or two... This is a great location to go just on your own, or even better to go with a bunch of friends, hard to find somewhere that can accommodate a large group. read more

Disappointed never offered a beverage while waiting for hair to color... Left a big blonde chunk in the front ( after paying a lot of $$) plus asked for a trim small trim and cut at least an inch off right before a wedding so disappointed I thought wow a nice new aveda spa/salon in Halifax area wow so nice not.... I wish I would have went with my gut feeling and gone to life salon :( read more

I moved to the city two years ago and I've tried a few shops hoping to find a great place at a great price and I think I have found it here with Infusion. I went here for the first time last night and it was my first hair cut since moving two years ago that I didn't run home with my hood up and cut it again myself. I had my hair done by Adam who was fantastic! I was hesitant to do a full cut at first as I've been growing my hair out for a while and it was my first time here, so I was going to just get a trim. But at the same time my hair was horribly damaged and it needed 2 - 3 inches or more to be cut off. Adam offered me suggestions so that I could try to keep my length but repair some of the damage. After some internal debate, which he did not rush, I was comfortable enough to say to cut all the damage off. And!! Even though my hair was so extremely damaged (Seriously felt like mush) he did not make a degrading comment or say something that made me feel like I didn't deserve to be in a salon like other salons I've gone to have done. It was nice to be somewhere where they understand that not everyone has the time to take proper care of their hair (Even though we should). So I get the shampoo and it's the most relaxing thing ever, I've had shampoos before but never was graced with a scalp massage. I almost didn't want to get out of the sink to go for the cut. Seriously, a scalp massage is now my favorite thing in the world. Then to the hair cut and style, Adam was quick and made sure I was involved and not left in the dark on how my hair would look at the end. He spoke to me genuinely, none of this fake chit chat that you get at a salon you're new too. I tell you, Adam made me feel like I had been a client there for years. Once the cut was done he styled it and checked it over, asked me if I had any concerns or wanted anything changed. It was nice not to be shoo'd right out the door, and instead asked if I was happy or wanted anything changed. A few little tweaks and I was smiling to the counter. The receptionists were great as I was checking out, and no one was pushing sales on me like some places will. The let me browse the products, and because no one rushed me or pushed sales at me I bought the Aveda Damage Remedy Leave In Treatment he had used during my styling. Major props there on not forcefully pushing sales, there nothing worse than someone telling you to buy everything but not actually asking what you need. My haircut itself was a little more expensive than I am used to, but to walk out of a salon with a smile on my face for once was well worth it. I will be back for sure! And I promise I'll ever let my hair get that nasty again and make Adam have to try and comb through it. (Seriously, could not get a brush through my hair going in, came out able to run my fingers through it. Sooooo happy!) Thank you for the great cut and experience! read more

It is ironic that they market having a liquor license and yet what they don't tell you is that if you have one glass of wine, they will refuse your service. I made an appointment for a massage and looked forward to it for an entire week- when I showed up over a half an hour early, my friend who was at Hamachi having dinner, invited me over for one glass of wine while I waited for my massage. I was shocked upon my return to infusion a half an hour later to learn that I could no longer have my massage because of that one glass of wine!! If they had educated their customers ahead of time, I would have kindly declined that glass of wIne. Needless to say, I was very disappointed in that poor customer service - and once I didn't even receive an apology from the manager when she did call as requested, I decided that it is not as customer-friendly as I would like and will therefore not be returning. 3 customers lost due to a mere glass of wine. I did recommend the educate there customers on this unspoken rule. After checking their website, they still fail to mention that one is prohibited to consume any alcohol before a massage. Again, it comes down to good customer service and respect - customers should be advised of this before it can potentially become an inconvenience and waste of one's precious time. And the interesting thing is that the prior review gives Infusion kudos for allowing a drink with their massages?! Inconsistent and inconsiderate. Thank goodness for the wonderful service and staff at Embrace Spa which may be a little further away but always allows me to leave on a happier and more relaxed note then when I walked in. :) read more

Taylor is wonderful and the place is nice. My main complaint is the noise factor when having the cut and dry done. There does nor appear to be a lot of soft things to absorb sounds and some of the employees seem to have voices that are naturally loud. I like to relax and enjoy a quiet conversation when having my hair done but this is not always easy here. read more

My experience with Infusion Spa and Salon wasn't as I expected it to be, having read good reviews about them. I had my waxing services (brazilian, lip) there and I won't be returning. Even though she didn't rush me nor hurt me, the end result couldn't be called a brazilian. As they describe on their website, a brazilian wax means dare to be bare, which I wasn't after my service. After all, she didn't even touch my bum nor asked me if I wanted it to be done as well. I am comfortable with having this service done, but she was very awkward; almost not talking at all, which wouldn't bother me if she had actually done my brazilian. If you're not comfortable nor willing to provide this service then don't, because when somebody's asking for a brazilian they expect a bare result. Also, she waxed my lip afterwards, which shows some poor time management and thinking, because if she had waxed it first, then I wouldn't be walking out there all red. I am not aware of how well they perform other services, but waxing is not their forte. I can say they had clean facilities. read more

I had the pleasure of getting a massage from Katie Davidson yesterday. It was by far the best massage and most relaxing experience at a spa. She started by having me soak my feet in warm water while we went over what I needed. She placed little pillows under my shoulders while I was face down which I've never had done. Her techniques released tension without pain and she even did a bit of acupuncture. She was attentive and I can't recommend her enough. I booked my birthday massage with her and I'll never see any other massage therapist so long as she's still working in Halifax. read more

Pretty upset that I did not get what I asked for a haircut. Hairdresser kept asking me what wanted, when I was very clear from the beginning. Instead of layers, my hair was repeatedly thinned and is basically all the same length. No layers. Not what I asked for. The haircut was not worth the fifty bucks I spent on it. read more
