When I heard about direct primary care, I thought, "That could make things a lot better." When I heard Ocala had it, and for reasonable prices, I signed up. Let's just start with the model: What a concept! A doctor that gets to know you, that responds to your needs, and that is available! No month-long waiting. No copays. No wondering if this or that is going to be covered. No need to go in if it's not a big deal, and you can find out if it's a big deal or not with a text message. Direct Primary Care is a breakthrough in our otherwise broken health care system. If you don't have it, then find a way to get it. Now, let's talk about Dr. Steed. Warm and funny from the word "go", Dr. Steed puts you at ease, but also is unafraid to tell you what you need to hear. My five children do not mind going to the doctor at all, because Dr. Steed is kind and empathetic, ready to laugh and even have fun with his patients. His staff goes above and beyond to make office visits convenient, and everyone in the office is friendly and accommodating. If there is something concerning me, I send a message on my Spruce app, send pictures, etc. I usually hear back from Dr. Steed or a member of his staff in a very short time. No worried waiting. And so far, he's been able to take care of everything. So we are a very satisfied family. I highly recommend that you look into direct primary care and sign up with Walden. They are making the health care system better, and they're doing it by treating their patients with care and respect.

TBH, this might be the best primary care I've ever actually experienced, including times when I did have health insurance. They charge me a monthly membership fee. I have been able to get care for various things, like when I had Covid, or when I needed lab work, & also dealing with GAD. Staff is amazing. Staff at the front desk is always friendly. It's a friendly and pleasant place to go. I've never waited longer than ten minutes in the waiting room. They are located downtown, just a couple minutes from the square. I really like SHELBY ALLEN, their Nurse Pract. I've seen her multiple times, she makes me feel really comfortable and she is wicked smart. I strongly recommend Walden to anyone in Ocala. And if you generally hate going to a doctors office, or find it stressful, Walden will probably change that for you.

When he does finally get back to you, he is always short and acts like you are an annoyance to him. He prescribed a medicine I was already taking, which showed me he didn't even look at my chart to see what prescriptions I was on before he called me back. I showed up for an appointment he made for me only to find the St. Augustine office closed, and the main office had no record I was even supposed to be there. When he does see you in the office, he is always distracted, stepping out multiple times in the middle of your appointment, to take phone calls and talk to people. He is spread way too thin between two separate offices, and it shows. He brags about how many patients he has, but sadly can't remember your name. The list goes on and on. I don't normally write reviews, but I felt in this case, I had no choice.

After numerous incidents which ranged from losing 25 years worth of my medical records from my Dr. in another state & not offering to get them from that Dr. again, not paying attention to things I said about my health, not being thorough, having rude office staff, talking down to me, and so much more, I finally left the practice and I am so glad I did. I found another practice that is fabulous and puts Osborn/Adams to shame. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was being 10 minutes late for an appointment and having the receptionist tell me that Adams wouldn't see me because I was late. He didn't care that it takes me 45 minutes to get to the office over roads that are known for traffic. Nor did he care that I apologized and explained that the 10-minute delay was due to construction traffic that I couldn't go around. No decent person, especially someone in the medical field would refuse to see a patient because they are 10 minutes late. Of course, if I had to wait in their office for 10 minutes, that's fine with them. Ironically, just a couple of weeks after I left, I was getting numerous phone calls and emails to inform me that the practice was changing to concierge medicine and they were giving me a chance to get in on that first. HILARIOUS!!! For those who don't know, concierge medicine means you pay the Dr. a hefty fee, over $1000 PER YEAR just to have the "privilege" of being their patient. That fee does not go towards office visits or anything else. You're just buying your way to keep seeing your Dr. Good luck with that Osborn, can't imagine why anyone would pay to let you be their doctor especially when no other physician in the area takes part in concierge medicine.
