On the negative side, the workers compensation is a must avoid. They gave me a great rate, but when I had an injured employee I found out how bad they could make it. They had me send the employee to a clinic for evaluation. I'm convinced that the clinic is instructed to render the cheapest care they can legally do, and draw out the treatment as long as possible. Never did I feel their goal was to give him the best, and fastest care available in order to get him healed and back on the job. Instead, since I signed an agreement to give him modified duty, I was stuck. That means he does menial work that's tailored for him, all while making full pay. In my case, the employee was in so much pain, he couldn't do the "busy" work we had for him. After 2 days, I told him to stay home, but I still had to pay him full pay. This went on for three months, both the employee and I were very frustrated. This man needed micro surgery to correct his muscle problem, which the clinic wasn't going to give him until the other options were tried. These other options included, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, mild pain killers, and other ineffective, time wasting procedures. In the end, I had to let him go, he hired an attorney, got his surgery, and hated me. This also repeated itself with two other employees. I finally left BBSI, got a good accounting firm that also did payroll, had to go with State Fund, and moved on.

When I requested the Corporate Office phone number, she refused to give it to me stating that she was my corporate contact. I had to Google it. The corporate office in Washington was able to resolve my issue within 30 minutes - at least half the time i spent having the San Diego Office tell me "sorry, there is nothing we can do." I would highly suggest working directly with the Corporate Office in Washington or looking for another company to handle your payroll. The Washington Office addresses issues rather than excusing them with no resolution.
