He actually is the first attorney i consulted who truly gave me answers regarding immigration law and the potential, serious consequences for both my fiance and i and that we both inevitably would be charged with visa fraud by USCIS if we were to marry on a tourist visa. I spoke with a 30yr practicing attorney in LA 3 weeks ago who even charged me $400 for an hour consultation. This attorney advised me to have my fiance come on tourist visa but state no intentions of marrying. Then, once she arrived to marry and file for adjustment of status. I am angry and appalled that some attorneys (whose names i wont mention) are misleading and untruthful about who can qualify for adjustment of status. Even though my fiance and i got engaged, even with a ring after knowing each other for a short while, we did not get married in Las Vegas. He recommended to me that i pursue the K-1 Fiance Visa route, where there is not the presumption of fraud, and both my fiance and I can clearly state our intentions in statement letters to validate our relationship and our desire for a genuine marriage.
