I recently bought a 16 foot glasspar . The tilt did not work on the motor for some reason I could not get the outboard to tilt up. We brought our boat to James and he diagnosed the problem immediately. After the new parts were ordered they were installed and everything works amazing now. James is very pleasant to deal with and one of the nicest business owners I've had the pleasure of doing business with. He seemed very knowledgeable and attentive. I felt like I was in good hands and absolutely will be doing business with him in the future. read more

The pat answer to my review is almost offensive. Check his BBB rating. They have pictures and a complete email chain. Also, while trying to fix the massive blunder I discovered that his incompetent staff just loosened the safety line stanchion bolt nuts and put the headliner OVER them. Can't even take the bolts out to re-drill. Now, to fix it, we will have to remove everything and start fresh. $3000.00+ down the drain. read more

My nightmare with this company began in August 2020. We wanted an opinion on whether the motor could be tuned up to get a few more years out of it (1997 Tohatsu) or if we should purchase a new motor. Initially, the mechanic was responsive. Within 10 days he told us the issues could be resolved by cleaning the lines and a tune-up. We also asked what the cost would be to rewire the trailer. They wanted $1117.25. I did the work for less than $100 in parts and about 1.5 hours of labor (rather than the quoted 8 hours of labor). In September, I asked for an update. A few more weeks passed and I was informed that a new water pump was needed. Two months passed without completion (there were several "reasons" related to a part and then with the supplier of the part being at fault). By mid-January, I asked to have the boat back. I was told it would be done by the end of January. I reached out in February and did not hear back. In March (over 6 months at this point), I set a date and time to pick up the boat, as I was done being strung along. When I arrived to pick up the boat, it was in the back lot, blocked by another boat. I was horrified when the employee gave me the option to move other people's vehicles myself, so I told her I would come back later. The boat was ready after hours (around 6pm) that evening, a Friday. I requested a refund for the water pump since it was never fixed. It took multiple requests and opening a dispute with my credit card company before the funds were finally returned. I had concerns about the boat upon pick up, as the exterior was discolored (mildew) from being left out in the lot for months and the hatch was open. Upon inspection, I discovered standing water in the cabin of the boat and in the storage compartments. The interior cushions were wet and smelled musty. There was trash and leaves decomposing in the cockpit. The jib was left laying in the standing water. The lines had mildew growing on them. I stopped in on Monday to express my frustration over the condition of the boat. To his credit, James seemed genuinely shocked and said he would stop by to take a look at the damage. Instead, he sent over a couple of guys to begin the cleaning of the interior and exterior that same week. They started the job, took the cushions to be cleaned, and began pressure washing the exterior. They left and I did not hear from anyone about when they were returning. I called the next week and they were sent back out at some point (maybe the next week?). We are into April at this point. Not one time did James call me to check in or assess my satisfaction. Finally, upon my insistence, James came over. During that visit, he and I agreed that he would have his mechanic come over the following week to actually fix the water pump. The day that the mechanic was supposed to come, I called when the shop opened to ask when he would be there. I had to leave a message and no one called me back. I called again the following week, again with no response. At this point, it was the end of April. So I decided to send a letter requesting that we finalize our business and both of us move on. I had been dealing with him for almost 8 months at this point. James wouldn't even pick up the letter from the post office so I hand-delivered it to him after the certified mail time expired. He always seems to think that things are fine, so it was once again frustrating to have him act nonchalant when I showed up at the shop. Apparently, his mechanic had shown up to work on the water pump but our battery was dead (duh, the boat had been sitting for months and months). His mechanic never knocked on the door, called, nothing. But he did take our battery with him (I had noticed that it had disappeared) to charge. And yet no one had called to reschedule or provide me with any update and ignored my two voicemails and my letter. In the end, I wound up replacing the motor with a refurbished one and cutting my losses with James and his shop. Take my advice, don't even bother wasting your time or money working with this shop. read more

Jimmy was super helpful and easy to work with. I brought my boat in, he evaluated the problem with the outboard motor, talked me through all the repair options and what they would cost. He was able to track down the parts, he took care of the repair, and he didn't charge me an arm and a leg. It was a great experience overall. I took my 1987 15 foot Livingston boat to Infocus Marine to have my boat made safe and operable after purchasing it from a friend who had not launched it for 25 years. Although it was stored covered in his backyard, a number of wires and switches were inoperable and a potential fire hazard. It had a 1974 6 hp Johnson kicker and a 1987 70 hp Johnson ; both 2 stroke motors that also hadn't been run for 25 years and improperly flushed after the last use in salt water. Shawn the electrical tech completely rewired the console and replaced all the switches and connections and installed my Lowrance GPS depth sounder and fish finder most expertly. Greg and Ben the mechanical techs performed all the steps in order to prepare the motors for dependable use after a quarter century of storage. They replaced all the components that were in need of replacement, as well as super tuning and dialing in these engines. I am TOTALLY pleased with the results I received and the total cost that was charged by James the owner, and highly recommend Infocus Marine and the staff for great marine service!!! read more

I would not recommend this business to my worst enemy let alone a friend. After paying twice for repairs boat is still not running. I should have known better then to do business with a parking lot operation. No testing just random part changing. read more

This was the worst service I have ever received. I would not recommend them. The mechanic was on my boat for an hour but was billed for two. On the phone I was told it would be $120.00 an hour but my bill was magically $392.00. Which does include the extra 1$120.00 that they charged for an hour he was not there. Not to mention I did not gain any new information on the service. I feel exploited and taken advantage of. They are at best unethical. Would not recommend them to anyone. Beware! read more
