My ultimate favorite out of all of those is Elven Assassin. Why, you ask? It tested my skills, or lack thereof, on shooting some characters with a bow and arrow. It was very interactive and engaging. I was fully immersed in this game, I tell you! If you decide to go, I suggest playing this game. My son and boyfriend played a fun boxing game. They both got a good workout out of it, so much that they were exhausted by the end of the game! You must check that one out too! They have over 200 games you can play. As soon as I found out this info I knew I'd have to return many times. I did not want to leave the place, honestly. The staff there is very helpful and friendly. They'll guide you by giving you instructions on how to use the equipment so if you've never tried VR before that won't be an issue. I highly recommend checking out this place!

I won't ruin it, but I will say it was definitely fun and there was some intensity to it. While it utilized VR headsets, tt definitely was not a full VR experience. You interact with the game on the walls. There was an option to purchase beverages during the experience which we did not do. After the ad popped up a few times it got to be a little annoying. It was just the two of us so we were able to do each game repeatedly, which made it even more fun because it allowed us to figure out how to solve the puzzles. Because of that I wouldn't suggest going with more than four or five people. Overall, I would say it was worth the trip to Oakbrook.

We did the zombie killing one and it was SO fun. 30 minutes flew by and I could've played for another 2 hours. The entrance is a little alcove, follow the signs up the stairs. Definitely make sure you book your session ahead of time. Once everyone arrives, you must sign the waiver (which you can also do ahead of time). Then they take you to your room you'll be in. The lovely workers strap on your wrist and ankle sensors, they then take you into the room you'll be in, the workers come in again and put the vr goggles on your head for you, then they hand you your weapons. The zombie one was pretty realistic, prob not for minors, but great fun for adults! I def will be back to play the Squid Game one. Great idea for birthday parties or get togethers. The workers do a good job of disinfecting everything you use as well. We parked in the lot across the street, street parking is pay to park and seems pretty tough to find a spot.

Story and art was obviously created using AI and black garbage bags for walls and 4 actors who are doing thier best to keep a straight face while performing...it's so terribly bad that it's almost good...Unfortunately paying 30 bucks a person for 2 people is pure insanity...But it does come with a liquor drink and you will need it after you are exiting 5 minutes after walking in...lol This is worth about 5 bucks a head at best and it still would seem awful. The sad part is the idea of a haunted gallery where you stare at paintings that come to life is a good one but unfortunately none if this happens here. The only horror to be had here is spending too much money on this turkey. And yes they had the nerve to have an exit thru a gift shop aka a closet with some dollar store merchandise This is so bad that it really does need to be seen to be believed...Maybe show up and ask can you walk thru for a few dollars...Its so worth it for a few bucks and you will never forget it. She's a tall seven year old, and she headed straight for the virtual reality pods, where her mom and the proprietor agreed she could buckle in for a virtual visit with Santa, an underwater adventure, a visit with dinosaurs, and a ride on a roller coaster, swaying and bumping along. She was thrilled. We were delighted! The gallery is full of objects you might want to buy -- we didn't -- and escape rooms for adventure -- we haven't tried them -- but I can't recommend the place highly enough for friendliness, cleanliness, reasonable prices, and good, safe fun.

This was the first for us but my family had an awesome time. My husband said it was a workout and they were all sweating when they finished. The video footage of their experience was priceless. Disappointing Experience for My Son's 8th Birthday…read more I was so excited to book Sandbox VR in Oakbrook, Illinois, for my son's 8th birthday, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing and not worth the $200 I paid. We arrived on October 12th and had a difficult time locating the venue because there was no clear signage indicating where Sandbox VR was located. I called three times and received no answer. Thankfully, I was eventually able to locate the email and speak with someone at a different store who directed us to the correct location. When my husband, my two sons, and I arrived, we were greeted by a staff member who told us we were late, even though we were still within the five-minute grace period. Instead of assisting us, she made us wait while she helped two other parties first. When she finally assisted us, her attitude was rude, and she provided little to no instruction on how to put on the VR equipment. She simply told us to put everything on and make sure the hands and feet were correct before walking away. About 10 minutes later, she returned and told us the equipment was on incorrectly, so we had to adjust everything. She left again, and another 10 minutes passed before she finally brought us into the game room. We were instructed to raise our hands and say "assistance" if we needed help. However, while playing, I fell hard, and my toy gun came apart. I raised my hand and called for assistance, but no one came to help me. I had to remove my goggles, check myself, put the gun back together, and continue playing without assistance. To make matters worse, the room was hot, and there were no fans running. My children were sweating and uncomfortable throughout the entire game. I understand that things may not always go perfectly, but for a birthday experience costing $200, I expected better customer service, proper equipment instructions, a comfortable environment, and staff who respond when a guest needs assistance. This was supposed to be a fun and memorable celebration for my son, and I left feeling disappointed with how the entire experience was handled. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations, and I do not feel the service we received was worth the price. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issues with staff training, customer service, venue signage, and guest safety. Families deserve a much better experience, especially when celebrating a child's birthday.
