This place came recommended from a Townie who has lived in town for nearly 30 years. I checked…read moreprevious reviews and was a bit nervous. It's not the most glamorous place and no one was bringing me wine while I waited. However, the guy that did my pedicure was a magician. I'm not saying that a pedicure can cure depression but after spending 15 months in COVID angst and no nail work at all, this was heavenly. It had Monica Gellar from Fiends vibes when Phoebe gives her a massage. Also there was no eye rolling at me when I uncontrollably giggled from the pumice scrubbing. It seemed quick, perfect amount of time, but I was so spaced out the entire time that it could have been 4 hours. Definitely headed back to this place. They take Venmo which is perfect. Warning: due to extreme relaxation, you may over tip like I did. Plan ahead.

They didn't have time to do a toddler nail so I said that's fine we will just have her take the place of the second adult pedicure and I'll still pay for two pedicures. After arguing they said that's fine but then we explained she just wanted a paint she didn't want to put her feet in the water. They said then they can't do it cause they don't do paint jobs only full services. Even after reiterating I'd pay for the original services. So we left....Usually jimmy does my nails and does an amazing job but him not being around and them being so rude I will not be back and no longer recommend them to all my local customers.

Melissa did such a great job with hair and makeup for our wedding. She was very responsive to our…read moreemails throughout our planning process and easily made time for us to come do a hair/makeup trial on the same day as a meeting at our venue. We would both highly recommend the trial- we liked having a chance to talk out our ideas with Melissa and figure out what would work best for us. The only frustrating thing was when she was emailing us ahead of our wedding about finding help to get everyone's hair done on the actual day. She was having a hard time finding someone, and it became a stressor for us that we didn't need. When it came time for our wedding weekend, she made all the adjustments we asked for so that everything was perfect and had the help she needed to finish everything on time. Melissa was very welcoming to our families and didn't mind having people in and out of the salon all morning. When my grandmother decided she wanted her hair done at the last minute, there was no problem fitting her in. Melissa was also very LGBTQ friendly, and had no problem with just doing some really subtle makeup on me so that I didn't look washed out next to my wife with her fancy hair and makeup. Between everyone that went to the spa, we had updos, makeup, manicures, and pedicures done, and all were excellent. We would definitely recommend Luminous Day Spa to anyone getting married in the area, or just passing through and wanting to get something quick done.
