I am here on a small vacation and desperately needed help with my hair, but let me back up a…read morelittle, we came down to CC four years ago, for my birthday, and my husband gifted me a trip a salon, so I got online and found Padre Isle Hair Salon, and was lucky enough to find Sarah, she was able to get me in during our short stay and gave me such excellent treatment, I had a cut, color and highlights. I was so happy with my entire experience, Tim, and Nancy where there that day, oh, and Sailor too, everyone treated me so warmly that I was sad I didn't have this same experience back home in North Fort Worth. Sarah is a very talented hair dresser and stylist and took the time to help me decide on what would look best with my features, and I left there feeling not only confident, but also seen and appreciated, I hope that makes sense, I really was delighted with the all around experience. Now fast forward, some THINGS have happened in my life and we hadn't been able to come back besides for my nieces graduation from college. Ok, now back to Tuesday 4/14/26 lol, I called to see if Sarah might even still be there, and to my delight and astonishment she WAS, idk if it's a regional thing, but even my former hair dresser changed salons frequently, maybe it's a Dallas/Ft.Worth thing, anyway, Sarah was booked up this whole week, and we are leaving in a couple of days, so Nancy took my info and told let me know she'd ask the other hair dressers and they'd give me a call back. Just a few minutes later I received a call from Rita and she was so accommodating, I explained that I damaged my hair, and I wasn't sure of the extent of work I was going to need, and she was able to fit me in same day! Not only is she so sweet and easy to talk to but she really listened to my concerns, I'd used the wrong type of products on my fine hair that's been thru a lot due to serious medical issues, medications and treatments, and she was very knowledgeable, she was able to give me a hair cut that didn't require taking to short, and also color my hair to balance everything it. I actually looked at myself in the mirror and for a moment I saw ME, I was flabbergasted, for just a second I saw 18 year old Valerie, it was cinematic (not to be too dramatic lol) but I haven't felt myself for a long time. I am just as delighted today as I was 4 years ago when Sarah did my hair. This salon is special, and I don't know how to explain it, everyone there is GOOD, they know what they're doing and the exude confidence. Maybe it's Sailor, she's the boss, ok, she has feathers and talks, I think she tried to talk me out of my gummy bears I was nibbling on, but her name is perfect cuz she runs a tight ship! Give them a call and tell who ever answers the phone what your goals are, you won't regret it, you should see all the great reviews on Google as well, that how I found them originally, anyway, the place has great energy, a really awesome vibe, I will definitely be back!

First of all, her demeanor made me uncomfortable; she kept smiling at me in a mocking way and not very friendly at all. She didn't know what Drybar was, I showed her a reference pic of the cosmo-tai style off their menu and she charged me $10 extra for using curling iron to achieve the look. While already curling my hair she said it was coarse (which is news to me, I know for a fact my hair is medium texture, but I just have a lot) and that's why the resulting curls would not hold as long. By the time I got home one hour later, the curls were gone, despite her having put hairspray. It looked like something I could do myself with my ameteur skills. I never have this problem when I go to the salon at Ulta beauty or Dry Bar when they curl my hair. My previous elite stylist can even do a blowout on me that holds curls without even having to use a curling iron.
