I was extremely nervous but after reading such great reviews I decided to book my appointment. I loved that she cut my hair dry and talked me through the process the entire time. Even during the week she was very responsive via text and made me feel at ease coming into the appointment. Jordan is super sweet and I am so thankful I found her. My curls never looked this great! The products she used on my hair made my hair feel so soft and bouncy. Her salon is located in the middle of the Castro district so I did have to go back a couple times to add money on the meter but timed out perfectly with the treatments. My first Devacut. As you can see my hair was long but lost all curls and was uneven. I had no relaxer or straightener in it ever or perm my curls were just gone for some reason. Jordan evaluated and cut my hair the length that I wanted. I then had my hair washed and conditioned thoroughly by the other lady there ( I forgot her name, I think Amanda. But she was really cool). After that Jordan put some products into my hair and told me which products she used, what the products do, and how to use them. She then diffused my hair and framed my hair around my face and cut any loose ends. She gave me knowledge about my hair and how to take care of it. She also gave me a sample of the deva products. It's always a good sign getting a curly haircut when you know your hairdressers hair is curly too, and they know how to make it look awesome. I booked with Jordan online. I found her through the Devacurl site having been trained/certified for the deva cut technique. I headed to Ringolevio on Union Street and the cut started with a consultation to understand my current haircare, styling techniques, lifestyle and hair wishes. Then Jordan went on to do her magic cutting, while explaining the many facets of curly hair maintenance and her tips. She was flowing with great information, I'm so happy she shared! After the dry cut, we headed to the shampoo bowl for washing and conditioning. She used the deva curl line for the wash and styling, and shared which products she thought would work best on my curls. After drying, we headed back to the chair for scrunching, touch ups and the big reveal. I'm sooo happy with the results! I never leave reviews but ..Wow!!! I avoided getting my haircut for THREE years because I had had such bad experiences. I was SO nervous going to Jordan but the moment I got there I knew she 5000% was the right choice! She takes the time to listen to you, look at what type of hair you have, explain the pros/cons of the ideas you have for your hair and only cuts what you're comfortable with. Unlike a lot of other salons i've been to, she doesn't push products on you and educates you on how to treat your curls, what causes bad hair days and what you can do to have a great hair day! It's easy to look good leaving a salon, after a professional has done your hair but can be tricky to recreate it..Jordan makes sure you know how to style your hair to recreate her magic! I originally went to see Jordan for a haircut from a Living Social deal. She did such an amazing job, I'm going to use her as my regular stylist. For one.. she listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered. Secondly.. her pricing is better then her competitors. Third... she's flexible and her schedule isn't booked months in advance, so you can get in w in a week or two of when you want a cut. Fourth... she's fun and energetic. As someone with naturally curly hair (type 3b), it's always a challenge finding someone that you trust to work with... I'm so happy that I stumbled across Jordan. Jordan is friendly, approachable, and very knowledgable. She helped me find a cut that would look good given my preferences, lifestyle, and face shape, and explained everything that she did. She also educated me on the effect of silicones on curly hair... I had only been aware of the dangers of sulfates before, so this was definitely eye opening for me.
