Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with my iced peach chai latte. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either, Just mediocre. I've had a lot better. I had their Cyclops donut which is just a chocolate covered donut with a dollop of buttercream frosting on top. It was excessively sweet which can detract from its taste. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of that either. It is clean and spacious inside and its decor is rustic chic. Seating ranges with a multi-zoned, versatile environment designed for everyone from quick stop patrons to remote workers. Lounge/Armchair Area situated in a cozy nook near a fireplace with, soft, upholstered chairs paired with low coffee tables for relaxing or reading. Table Tops (Regular/Standard): Laid throughout the center and along the perimeter walls. These standard height dining tables provide supportive surfaces for working, socializing, or eating. Bar Seating- elevated counters overlooking the street with high stools- ideal for solo visitors, charging devices, or people watching. Staff were friendly and efficient. They do offer military discounts, just ask and present your ID. The coffee shop is advertised as kid friendly. They offer kid friendly drinks and they have a partitioned area that has a kid sized table and family style seating.

I personally can't stand…read morethe smell of Jersey Mike's and could always use another coffee so thought I'd pop into this adorable looking coffee shop. I walked right up to order (no line whoo hoo) and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally I asked if i could place an order and was told someone would be right with me. From there the young women behind the register chatted and didn't seem to be in any hurry to help. There was one busy with the drive thru, but besides that they didn't have much going on. Finally someone came up to ask if i needed anything. Yes! I ordered a latte with almond milk and to their credit they had it ready within minutes. And it was a solid almond milk latte! There weren't many others in this coffee shop this past Sunday, but there were plenty of seating options and the atmosphere is super cute. You may have to wait awhile to place your order, but besides that this spot checked all my coffee checkboxes.

We tried their Los Altos eggs Benedict and their farmer's skillet. The chorizo in the Los Altos Benedict is very spicy and I am a chorizo connoisseur. It has too much heat for your average person. The poached eggs were over done and the potatoes had too much pepper, that's all we tasted. The farmers skillet was good but nothing to get excited about. Their juice glasses are large! The service was good and she was very pleasant. However, our server never checked if we wanted more water even when our glass was empty. One more comment, they don't offer iced coffee! Unfortunately, that set the tone from the beginning.

Service: hostesses were efficient and kind. Our server was a very young man (Eli, i think) who took good care of us and was funny. Food came out fast. 5 stars Ambiance/location: Parking was a little tough hut located near a kot of other shops and restaurants downtown. Appears to be a clean and safe neighborhood. Bathroom was clean. While it was busy, it wasn't too busy or too loud. 4 stars stars Food: Mexican skillet and steak and egg skillet (avocado added to both). Ebglish muffin and small pancake. Mexican skillet was fantastic. Even with the jalapeños it was just the right heat for me. 5 stars. Steak and egg skillet was very good. 4.5 stars. Pancake was your standard pancake. 4 stars. I really like the english muffin well toasted and buttered. 4 stars. Overall great spot and great value. I will be back when I am in the area.

But we weren't in a hurry. My friend had the Denver omelette which she enjoyed. I had the steak and eggs. While the steak was cooked to order, there was a lot of grizzle, so probably more than half of it didn't get eaten. Not sure it was worth the $23. On the upside, the hashbrowns were absolutely perfect! Portions were generous and it's a cute little place. It was quiet with enough parking. I wouldn't order the steak again or make a special trip for Cafe 36, but if you happen to be in the area, it's a decent place for breakfast. FYI: the menu prices are cash, for credit card payments there's a 3.5% up charge. The only mention of this is via a sign at the cash register. Also, alcoholic beverages were on the menu, but not available because they didn't renew their liquor license.

Rare is it that I go out for two meals in a day, and never before to the same restaurant for them!…read moreBut yesterday, we had to drop off my car for some repair work, so indulged in breakfast out at The Coop, a favorite. The food is always delicious, the service is truly impeccable with well trained, friendly servers, and it's very clean and homey. I had an egg special, and my choices included two (perfectly cooked) poached eggs, three crisp on the outside sausages, a well balanced fruit bowl with fresh pineapple, melons, and grapes, and a short stack of their light and fluffy pancakes. My husband had over easy eggs, bacon, pancakes and fruit, plus we both had The Coop's rich, deeply flavorful coffee. Everything was excellent and at a most affordable price. Fast forward several hours: my daughter and her young sons were in the area on an errand, so we met up and of course the boys were hungry, so as The Coop was, once again, very close, we went there. My daughter was very happy to see decidedly different menu options for kids' meals than the usual. Two of them had grilled cheese sandwiches with fruit cups, the third had a scrambled egg, sausage, a pancake and fruit, my daughter had French toast, and I had two cheeseburger sliders with fries. Everyone loved their food and the atmosphere, and they all want to go back. Two great experiences in one day!
