Although I was pleasantly surprised at first, ValDay was very nice and made me confortable despite my "unoriginal choices" (I had an hour session so I added basic script and a geometric shape). Everything was fine at this point. What really made my experience bad was some other guy (ValDay told me he's an artist there as well, can't remember his name) that gave me the nastiest attitude and spoke really loud as I was leaving "well you were a waste of great talent you come back when you want a REAL tattoo!" Because of that comment I definitely won't be going back. I felt unwelcomed and put on the spot as if not "worthy" of them.

Two of my friends came with me and they were also surprised with how welcoming the staff was. It was definitely a great experience for my first piercings and they did an amazing job at calming me down and going through all of the different steps. All in all, I greatly recommend this place and I absolutely adore the piercings I got here (and im like a super-duper picky person). The aftercare is going really well, the pain is at a minimum, and the staff assured us that for any questions or concerns you can always call them or do a walk-in. Within a week, I visited with Jonathan at the studio, where we exchanged some creative ideas for a cover-up piece. I was instantly impressed with the art on the walls, the cleanliness of the location, and the warmth and professionalism that I was greeted with. I loved the concept that we discussed, and loved the sketch Jonathan came up with a few days later even more. My tattoo healed beautifully, and still pops nearly 2 years later. Private Tattoo has since been my go-to - I later got a second custom piece that turned out more brilliant than I could have imagined. The artists at Private Tattoo are as talented as they are experienced. Their process is collaborative, ensuring that people end up with something that meets and exceeds their expectations. I'm already thinking of what my next tattoo will be, and I know exactly where I'll go to bring it to life!

A few week before a trip to Montreal, I started to look at some artists in Montreal. I came across Meghan at Private Tattoo. I really like her style and found an older tattoo that she had done. On a whim, I messaged her and she had availability while I was in town. I had told her in the message what I had liked and what I had in mind. Day off, she had sketched up the perfect tattoo. She was really sweet and the overall vibe of the place was comfortable. Everything was super clean! Meaghan obviously takes great pride in her work. The shading was very realistic. The tattoo is also healing beautifully. I would definitely see her again and would recommend her or any other artist at Private Tattoo!

Julien sat us down individually and designed the tats effortlessly. It was mind blowing. He then tatted each of us individually (only 1 person allowed upstairs in the tatting area). So we chilled downstairs near the cafe (it's so cool you can get something to drink while you wait). I had a matcha green tea with oat milk, was not good but I drank it. Anyway, I am IN LOVE with my tattoo and Julien did a PHENOMENAL JOB I'M BLOWN!! No after care instructions are given and though I'm not new to tattoos, I've never had the saniderm on after getting tattooed so some after care instructions would have been nice (we had to look up some instructions online). It's cash only so be prepared. They do have an ATM but you will be charged fees by your bank They didn't provide a receipt which was also lowkey annoying but I didn't argue it. I will be getting my next tat with Julien (contact through insta)

They even have clothes for sale with some of the artists' work that was suuuper well priced on my last visit. Ashley's work has always been beautiful and is consistently the pieces of mine that I get asked about most on the street. You wouldn't believe the number of people who stopped me in Costa Rica to point out my Dali tattoo. Overall the artists in the shop are great across the board and the place is clean, stylish and very well maintained.
