Even though they told him they would send him a cheque for the full amount at the next day, he had to insist, fight and wait months to finally receive less than half of what they had agreed to pay him for his visit. With that in mind, I asked him about my design and he spend a few hours already working on some material before even meeting. Upon meeting we discussed some changes to the design. I honestly didn't like the idea of not getting my piece that originally wanted. However, you have to trust the person who wants the best possible work done. So I did, I listened to him, kept in mind many things like the placement of my tattoo being my calf what I wanted wouldn't look well because of the wrap around affect. Andrei was honest and told me what he liked and didn't like. I very much appreciate this candid communication. The guy works so fast, checks on you, and is a complete professional. Please if you're going to work with him TRUST him. If you like his style and his art trust that to achieve the look and style he created he will have a better opinion of how to make it happen. Picture added is wrapped after day one but shows you how hard he has to work for the color saturation and contrast to shine through. I've actually had the pleasure of being tattooed by two different artists working out of this shop: Ola Kaya and Vero (Veroniqueimbo on instagram, also one of the owners of the shop). Ola does more graphic and occasionally illustrative black work, while Vero is known internationally for her stunning realism. Ola has a wait time of sometimes several months for a first appointment (although consultations happen almost weekly) while with Vero you'll wait sometimes several years to start a piece (trust me, both waits are worth it). I can't speak to the other artists, but I can say that Natasha, the shop's current apprentice, is a great person to do all your walk in tattoos. I think it's also great that a place of this caliber is still open to the occasional walk-in. The space itself is great: located right on the corner of Rachel and St Denis, the shop is a large transformed loft space. Sun floods the space all day and you get a real sense that your artist is seeing everything. It's obviously very clean and the technology available to the artists for additional lighting, printing, and photos is super up-to-date. Having worked with Ola on my sleeve for some time now, I can say that additionally the artists here are treated exceptionally well by the owners, which is an important factor. If you're going to get a tattoo, you would want your artists to love their job, right?

Julien sat us down individually and designed the tats effortlessly. It was mind blowing. He then tatted each of us individually (only 1 person allowed upstairs in the tatting area). So we chilled downstairs near the cafe (it's so cool you can get something to drink while you wait). I had a matcha green tea with oat milk, was not good but I drank it. Anyway, I am IN LOVE with my tattoo and Julien did a PHENOMENAL JOB I'M BLOWN!! No after care instructions are given and though I'm not new to tattoos, I've never had the saniderm on after getting tattooed so some after care instructions would have been nice (we had to look up some instructions online). It's cash only so be prepared. They do have an ATM but you will be charged fees by your bank They didn't provide a receipt which was also lowkey annoying but I didn't argue it. This beautiful new little shop has a great vibe, is spotlessly clean and has three really great guys at the ready to help design and deliver amazing tattoos. Plus, there's an intriguing cabinet of curiosities in the back that I spent some time ogling, which includes some very cool skull specimens. The interior is done with reclaimed wood counter tops and dropped ceiling, and the walls are covered pretty much floor to ceiling in art. The layout of the space makes for good privacy for its clients, but it's still open and airy. I just got new ink yesterday, my first tat in six years and I'm 100% totally thrilled with the results! I went to Ti-Rem - he was super kind, patient, unhurried and a total perfectionist (which you really appreciate when getting permanently marked up). Plus, affordable!! I'm already planning my next tattoo, and will definitely go back to the same guy. My partner has an appointment with Guillaume, the owner of the shop, next month, for his first tattoo ever! Very exciting. So glad these guys are in the neighbourhood, although now my grandfather will tell me I'm irredeemably on my way to the gates of hell. Muahahahah.

She knew what she wanted, and he said that he could draw something out tonight and have it done in the morning. I didn't know what I wanted but he said it was okay if I decided tomorrow and that he would make some time just in case I still wanted a tattoo. We showed up early for our tattoos the day after, and we walked into another fun and friendly environment. Loulou set up a private station for my girlfriend and was very polite about her level of comfort in being topless for a tattoo. He proceeded to make very good conversation and consistently made sure she was comfortable and okay with the pain level, saying she could take a break whenever she needed. After she was done, I showed him a picture of what I decided on online. After a brief lunch break he cleaned up and set up a new station with new needles, and proceeded to do an absolutely amazing and professional job on my tattoo. If I lived in Montreal I would say that I would only go there for tattoos. If I'm ever back in the city I would go back without question. RACIST ASSAULT AGAINST CLIENT…read more If I could give zero or less stars I would. A couple of days ago I found out that this place had a new apprentice who was doing tattoos for free to advance herself in the field. I went to get one done, the work was decent, athough I had a very aggressive consultation from the head piercer. I was asking questions out of curiosity for pricing on certain piercings and was met with condescending responses rejecting my business. Unfortunately, I had to come back today as two of my friends were going to get the same deal with the new tattoo girl. Once they were finally met by an employee working in the shop, after a very very long wait time, and after getting a copy of my friend Nick's ID they accused him of falsifying the document, and racially profiling him as "mexican" and "black". Nick, clearly was offended by the racial slurs and uncalled for accusations on his identity so took back his stencil he provided that he was going to have tattooed on him saying that the guy acting out of line for Slick Styled Steel was a dumbass, ripped up the stencil and walked out of the shop to meet up with a girlfriend he was there with. Not one but TWO men followed Nick out of the shop and began yelling at him saying "get the fuck out of here now!", Nick turned around and the employee named Alex assaulted him by pushing him into the street. Now, not only is this cause for pressing charges against him for assault, but also, the employee named Alex and the other employee named Jesse were under the impression that Nick was under the age of 18. To me, thats assaulting a minor. This will be going directly to the SPVM as a report of aggravated assault with the intent to harm a minor. This will be the last time any of us will enter this shop for obvious reasons and I would advise any one else to do the same. Thank you for the very extreme altercation that should have never happened in the first place. Racial profiling and assault are never something any business should promote and serious action needs to be taken against all parties involved with Slick Styled Steel.
