I contacted Griselda at Friendly Companion to see if she could provide the type of specialized care my father would need once he was released from the hospital. She was completely familiar with what his needs would be having had years of experience working with clients in need of high level care such as his. I was so impressed with her knowledge of situations such as his and felt immediately reassured that he was going to be well taken care of. She attended training sessions at the hospital along with her staff to insure that everyone on her team would know the proper procedures for caring for him with his particular medical condition. Once my father came home, Griselda's team of top notch caregivers provided excellent service to both my father and 90 year old mother until my father's condition worsened and we had to make a change in his care. I could not have asked for better assistance than I received from Griselda and her staff. She was available at a moment's notice and really came through for us in our time of need.

They will not answer their phone ever or call you back if you leave a voicemail. When you call them and they do not answer (which is every time) they'll send you an automated text saying that you can text them at that number, if you do, they will also not respond to that either. Or if they do manage to send a text back it'll be a new person every time, they'll ask your name and date of birth and then stop responding so you can start that whole process another time again. I went in a month ago for an ankle appointment. I got an MRI referral and a prescription and they had not sent out either two weeks later. I finally went in in person to ask them to do it, they never sent the MRI referral even though he said he did when I was there and the prescription they sent out wasn't even anything close to what the doctor and I discussed in my appointment. I talked to another person another week later and they said they sent out the MRI referral at that time again, still have not. So all around terrible experience. It's been 4 weeks now and I've still not gotten either from them. The only way to get anything from this place is to physically walk in and ask them to do what you need done in person, even then it's questionable.

When I spoke to the owner of the purple van company he was straightforward and assured me that my father's comfort and safety were number one. On the day of transportation it was a round trip. Although I could not be present with my father the owner was in contact with me at all times and assured me when my dad was picked up and dropped off safely. Never once did he make me feel like we were bugging him at all. He even sent a driver earlier than the time we agreed solely because my father was uncomfortable at the venue and wanted to go home. When my father arrived home the driver made sure he got into our home safely. I highly recommend this place for non-emergency medical transportation. My father has a spinal cord injury and his wheelchair is pretty big and hard to transport even in a truck.
