I signed up for the makeup course at Infinite Glow Academy after being promised a makeup kit "valued up to $300" as part of the enrollment. That promise was a big part of why I chose to pay for such an expensive program. The instructor was wonderful knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about teaching. Unfortunately, the owner's behavior overshadowed the actual learning experience. She repeatedly interrupted the class and spent a significant amount of time talking about herself. I initially thought I was being overly sensitive, but several of my peers felt the same way the owner's presence was overbearing and took away from valuable instruction time. The bigger issue came when I finally received the kit. I added up every item, and the total value was nowhere near $300. The products were cheap, low-quality, and frankly the same kind of items I've seen sold at the swap meet. The glue was dried up and unusable. If you're considering this course, I'd think carefully about whether the advertised kit value and the actual experience will be worth the cost. The instructor deserves credit, but the course as a whole did not deliver what was promised. The impression I have taken from this is there is no "Beatriz" person, the owner simply cannot handle criticism, if you cant take a bad review please do things right. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I wanted to share my experience so future students know what to expect before enrolling. Unfortunately, there were several issues throughout the course that made it difficult to have a positive learning experience. The classroom environment was probably the biggest issue. The makeup class is held in a high traffic area near the entrance of the location, and students from the nail and eyelash classes are constantly walking through. The door was repeatedly left open throughout every class, and multiple students had to keep getting up to close it, only for it to be opened again a few minutes later. Since the school is located inside a mall, there was also a lot of outside noise. On top of that, music from the other classrooms was often loud enough that it was difficult to hear the instructor. This happened consistently throughout the course, making it hard to concentrate and follow along. The classroom technology also wasn't reliable. The camera and microphone that were supposed to display the demonstrations only worked about two out of the ten classes. If you weren't sitting close enough to see every detail, it was difficult to follow what the instructor was doing. Another major disappointment was that the course is advertised as bilingual. That was one of the main reasons my mom enrolled. However, the class was taught almost entirely in English. My mom was one of only two Spanish speaking students, and both of them were often spoken to in English even when it was clear they didn't understand. The other Spanish speaking also expressed that she had enrolled expecting a bilingual class multiple times. Even when questions were asked in Spanish, the responses were often given in English. I reached out to the school because it was frustrating to watch, and the only solution offered was two additional classes. It wasn't until after I emailed expressing my concerns that more Spanish began to be used, but it still fell far short of what was advertised. Communication about important dates was also disappointing. The graduation date changed multiple times, so I specifically asked to confirm the final date because I was planning a trip. I was told graduation would be on July 12. I even confirmed it again with the instructor before booking. A night before, I found out graduation had actually been moved to July 19. When I asked about it, I was simply told, "Yeah, it's confusing." Because I relied on the date I was given, I had already booked my trip and ended up missing graduation. Another thing to be aware of is the makeup kit. The full kit isn't provided until the very end of the course. The starter kit given at the beginning is very limited, and during the first several classes we were repeatedly told we needed additional products and tools, which meant purchasing them from the school's store just to keep up with the lessons. Lastly, I felt that the class time wasn't used as effectively as it could have been. Roughly two hours of each class were dedicated to demonstrations, but after a while they became very repetitive. The same techniques were demonstrated repeatedly with only minor differences, and I think that time could have been better spent giving students more hands on practice, personalized feedback, or instruction on new techniques. I can't recommend this course based on my experience. Between the constant distractions, unreliable classroom technology, poor communication, misleading advertising of the bilingual instruction, repeated additional purchases, and overall lack of organization, I don't feel the quality of the course matched what was promised. I left feeling disappointed and wish I had known these things before enrolling. I hope this review helps future students make an informed decision. read more

This is not the best place to spend ur money on especially the courses nothing is worth it i know better places who charge the same amount with better products in the kits. This place was not professional its unorganized. I had my daughter take a course here for the makeup we had to wait until it opened and the demo wasnt shown to her more than once. Me and my daughter are in a Mexican dance group and I needed stuff n things for make up. This place was so fun!! I found a really good eyebrow filler, an eye brow brush, and an eyelash applicator. This review is for the location in the city of West Covina located inside the Westfield fashion plaza. I signed my daughter up for the acrylic nail classes. The staff has been very professional and helpful during this process. They also have a beauty store located next to the main store which has all the supplies you may need and they even offer a student discount for any of her purchases made , which was a great help to me! Jennifer was a great instructor. She was very knowledgeable and patient. I would definitely recommend giving this academy a try if interested in any nail, makeup and eyelash classes. read more

Wonderful experiences for my teen daughter. My daughter has always had an interest in makeup. We were informed of the upcoming 5 week professional makeup course by an attendant at the Infinity Glow store at the mall. I have to say, it was difficult to get a call back After we showed interest in signing up for the program. I gave my number at the register and was told I would receive a call back that evening, never did. A few days later I called and asked as told the same thing. Leave your info and someone will call you back. No one did. Finally, my daughter and I went in person to sign her up. The class went great. I was her model for her final and she did a fantastic job. My daughter learned many techniques and will definitely be using them in the future. read more

They sold me a broken palate that I wasn't aware was broken because you aren't allowed to open before you buy which is reasonable until you realize the are selling you broken things. Asked for a refund and apparently they couldn't help me or do anything about it. read more

Not too long ago i was certified as an mua at the East L.A location, my 10 week course was great thanks to my amazing instructor, it was at graduation where everything became messy. We as a class were promised a ring light upon graduation after everything was paid off nothing was said about a "promotion". As the owner of an MUA school you should be involved with the students/classes, at graduation Montse herself said "I know i haven't been that involved with this class" if she were maybe that conflict that ruined my graduation could have been solved prior to our big day. I had not met Montse personally prior to graduation it was until then that i knew who she was. The owner really lacks communication so if your looking into becoming a certified MUA save your money, your better off else where. read more

I went to get my makeup certification at the Los Angeles location and man I wish I never wasted my money on this place. I came to this location because my teacher was going to be an amazing instructor. I am very pleased with the instructor but the business and owner is horrible. They are very unprofessional and they do not keep their word. First off, the owner made a big drama at our graduation. She also made a speech saying how she was with us every step of the way and we barley met her the day we graduated. Then her and her workers false advertise. Many of our classmates were promised a ring light on graduation as long as as they signed up by a certain date and paid all their dues. Yet even though they had proof they were still not given the ring lights. I am sad to say that our day that was supposed to be amazing and full of happiness turned into a mess within seconds. I am upset that our days were ruined due to such unprofessional people. I also did not like that when I was called to the office to see if I would get my ring light the owners mom was screaming in my ear with attitude. I was one of the students that signed up on time and paid my course in full before even starting. I was promised my ring light the day of graduation. Then I could not get it until later because they didn't want to give it to me due to some of the other girls not receiving them. They are very unorganized and honestly I am very upset. Two of my classmates ending up crying and being upset and our candy table and everything was left at the facility due to drama made by the owner. Second, I was told I was going to get a good starter kit to start with. Keep in mind I already have my own kit at home, but the kit was a waste of money. The eyeshadows were horrible and performed badly. Many of the products would not work properly that in the end I had to invest even more money into the kit because they required items that we did not have in our kit. We were also promised to receive our graduation pictures and till this day I have not received them. I graduated march 1 ! I honestly did not appreciate the fact that the day of my graduation I ended up getting interrogated and screamed at when I didn't do anything but ask where was my ring light that I was promised. There are better schools out there and worth your money. This school may be a bit cheaper but save your money and invest else where. My instructor was amazing and I am glad she is teaching somewhere else because she was also treated poorly as many of our classmates saw. Till this day I never received a proper apology for ruining my graduation day. I was emailed a apology in a group conversation with notes stating that they were not the ones at fault and continued pointing fingers. Overall, please save your money and go else where.
