A Rare Sound for 7th Gen Hondas, But Be Informed Before Ordering If you're a 7th-gen Honda Civic owner looking for that signature Subaru-style boxer rumble, Steven at Inferno Fabrication is, quite literally, your only plug. He has the only proven blueprint for unequal-length headers made specifically for the D17A1 and D17A2 engines -- and the sound it creates is genuinely transformative. My car doesn't even sound like a Honda anymore -- it's throaty, deep, and truly unique for this platform. The headers fit perfectly, and the price (especially for such rare fabrication work) is extremely reasonable. I contacted over a dozen fabricators nationwide, and most either ignored the project or quoted over $1,500-$2,000+ for custom fabrication. Steven? He had the design ready and delivered it for under $1,000 with a rush order -- no compromise in quality or fitment. Now, for transparency: If you don't purchase the rush option, prepare for a long wait. Steven is a one-man shop who builds around a full-time job and family responsibilities. Lead times can stretch several months or even longer, and while Steven does offer disclaimers about this, in my opinion, he should be much more upfront and direct during actual communications. Not just boilerplate notices -- but genuine one-on-one confirmation with customers before payment that lead times can and do stretch to half a year or more in some cases. I think Steven would save himself a lot of frustration if he made this clearer before money changes hands. Saying "lead times vary" isn't always enough. He should directly confirm with buyers -- by email, phone, or even a short note -- that unless they order a rush job, wait times may be excessive, and updates might be limited. A simple "please be 100% sure you're okay with this before paying" would go a long way. Especially since some customers have reported being told their part was done, but then waited months more for shipping. That said, he does deliver. And the final result -- especially for Honda enthusiasts chasing that boxer sound -- is genuinely worth it if you're patient or if you go with the rush option like I did. If you're serious about unequal-length headers for your D17, this is your guy. Just be informed, know what you're getting into, and you'll be rewarded with a one-of-a-kind result. read more

I ordered a 2.5i Subaru header from Steven Dries in Nov 2024 and began emailing him in July 2025. Steven told me that my header was actually completed and that it would mailed out. The remainder of my dealings are reminiscent of a scammer that includes creating labels online and told me he has transportation issues. Steven will take your money and what happens after is a gamble. I paid using PayPal and well their policy is 6 months, meanwhile Steven has a disclaimer of up to 10-12 months to complete. I am currently in the process of a dispute resolution with my credit card carrier. PayPal offers no protection after 6 months. read more

If you're considering ordering from Inferno Fabrication, think twice. My experience was a nightmare from start to finish. Communication was slow and unprofessional -- I was told my product was finished, but shipping kept getting delayed with excuse after excuse. When pressed for answers, they tried to hide behind their "terms and services" instead of taking responsibility. At the end of the day, the order never shipped. Fortunately, I had paid through PayPal, filed a claim, and won, so I got my money back. But not everyone will be so lucky. This business feels like a scam operation. I strongly suggest looking up reviews and doing your research before risking your money here. Save yourself the time, stress, and frustration. read more

I placed an order for headers back in December 2024. Follow up July 2025 since I have not received my order and was promised that it would be shipped out the following Friday. It's now April 2026 and still haven't received it and no form of communication from Steven. This is a complete scam. Don't waste your money!! read more

Product was ordered in May 2024. It is not Feb 2026 with no product received or return of money. He did the same as others have reported- stringing along and eventually created a bogus tracking number. I will update this if he resolves this situation, but I am doubtful that will occur. read more

High quality work. Purchased an un equal length header for 96 subie gm4. Car sounds amazing now!!!

Quality is good but you will be waiting 7.5 months for any product. Communication is terrible and he says he will have them shipped one day and 3 weeks later they are still not sent. read more

This company is not a scam i believe Steven is just really slow i ordered in January and received my package after 7ish month, waited 2 1/2 month just too ship after consistently pressing him about it. He would reply with in the first 1-2 email same or next day. Quality of the product looks good and gave my car the tone i was looking for. I think the price is okay. It was lowered after i purchased. Would recommend if you have the patience of a saint read more

Great products and very good price for the value of the items! Would highly recommend to anyone needing Subaru Headers! I've purchased 2 headers and a mid pipe! read more

Should have read the reviews before I bought... Long story short, saw his work and thought I would support the little guy, that looks like it was a mistake, I placed an order going on two years ago, attempts to contact the company result in the usual "let me check and get back to you" or "its going to ship later this week". Despite these replies, he never gets back to me and I have yet to see any shipping information. Attempts to get a refund have been met with silence as well. I'm very disappointed, setbacks happen but this is an outright scam, designed to bait people along until they get too far out to contest the charges. read more

i ordered from him in early october 2023 for a car i have since sold, at first he was quick to respond, i was told he would get the order out in 4-6 weeks. i sold the car in early december and informed him i would like to cancel and get a refund, recieved no response. 8 weeks later and not a word about even getting the header shipped, i couldve at least sold it for a loss i got ahold of him from a different number (he wouldnt respond to the original) in april, requesting cancellation and refund, to which he responded he'll get it processed as soon as he can. almost 4 months later and nothing. if i dont get a refund soon i will be contacting ftc, bbb and whoever else i need to get ahold of, $400 is a lot of money to spend and get nothing in return for. i had been patient throughout this whole process, even when he finally responded for cancellation but now 10 months later, with nothing to show, i'm done with the nonsense and want my money back, Steven. do not order from here. read more

Lead time says up to 4-6 weeks. After 6 weeks i contacted the company via email for them to say they were running behind. and that they would ship the following week. After 2 weeks with no response and no change to my order status i requested to cancel the items to which they responded they already shipped, apparently with no tracking information and my order still says processing on their website. Here i am 10 days later 1 state over from the company still with no product. Don't waste your time, find a local company that wont screw you around. read more

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS GUY. He is a complete scam artist. I ordered an exhaust 4 months ago in March. And was happy to want to support a small business. Here we are it is July and still no exhaust. Weeks went by of emailing/calling/ texting with very little responses. And false shipping dates. This guy went above and beyond to make this whole situation worse and I don't want anyone to have to go through the awful experience I did. 4 months of waiting for no product! read more

This company is unreliable. If you want to wait 4 months and then a few days for a confirmation for your goods to be ready and shipped, go ahead and buy from this company. I purchased an exhaust in July and received an electronic receipt, and that was it. 3 weeks to 4 weeks later, in September, I sent an email following up on the order and no response. I made several attempts to call the business, and there was no answer, not even the ability to leave a message. I messaged the business via their online "Contact Us" in September as well, and there no response. October, I sent another message via their online contact us platform. Here I am in October, with still nothing. So, I had to go through my credit card service to get a refund for services never rendered because the business was not responsive. But, what a coincidence that all of a sudden, I get a response from the business that I should receive tracking information??? What really is after 4 months after I petition a refund? So now I am writing this review so that folks that want to do business with this company beware you may get your tracking information not goods up to 4 months later then your goods later. read more

The owner always seems to have an excuse as to why the product hasn't finished or shipped yet. I've had the same excuse from him multiple times over the year when asking about where the product is that I ordered. It will be a full year on August 31 from when I ordered. The last time I contacted him about where it is he marked it as shipped and there is still no tracking after another two weeks. Good thing I purchased on a credit card for claiming services never rendered so I can get my money back. This business should be reported to the BBB for scamming people and giving false information. From my investigation it seems as though the orders stopped shipping to people after the Covid pandemic. To me this sounds like an up front money fraud scheme because the owner either lost his job or wants the quick money from easy victims and will keep giving excuses until either you forget about the order, or you won't want to bother with getting the money back through your credit card company. I've tried canceling before with no response, which confirms my theory. read more
