She was so kind and truly listened to what I wanted. The test went perfect! Took a few photos for reminders. My wedding was October 13th of this year. That morning myself, my bridesmaids, and a few important ladies went to the salon to get our hair done! When we arrived they were ready to make it happen! All 10 of us were at the salon for 3 hours - they were fast and incredible! Nancy and Jannette, another stylist, made us look totally beautiful. They were relaxed, sweet, and listened to what we wanted. They were so easy going - coffee was self serve, we roamed the studio - no stress whatsoever. Kim, the nail tech, was amazing. I'd never had a shellac manicure - my nails truly never looked better. Kim is adorable, sweet as pie and incredibly talented at her craft. She did my mani and pedi, and 5 of my girls. I wish I could have taken her back to Boston! The ladies at Studio 55 are fantastic. I am so lucky to have had such wonderful women beautify me on my wedding day! And to top it all off, their prices are so reasonable... I know where I'll be going the next time I'm in Oriental! Can't wait to see them all again :o)

I deserve to be refunded, period. - This was my first visit to Southern Roots, and while I had high hopes based on the stylist's reviews, my experience unfortunately didn't go as expected. When I left the appointment, my hair had been curled, which can easily mask issues with color or placement. It wasn't until I straightened it two days later that I saw the actual results, and it was clear that the outcome didn't match the inspo photos I shared or the conversation we had beforehand. I reached out right away with photos, and while the stylist responded kindly and offered to fix it, I ultimately decided I wasn't comfortable with another appointment. I was then told the salon doesn't offer refunds, and instead, the owner, who I did not book with would be the one to do the correction. As a first-time client, this doesn't sit well with me. I don't feel comfortable going back, and I don't believe I should have to. I am not asking for anything beyond a fair resolution, and a refund would allow me to go elsewhere and have the issue addressed by someone of my choosing. Out of respect, I won't name the stylist - I don't believe this policy is hers, and I know she's done great work for many others. But I do think the salon's refund policy and how this situation was handled deserve to be shared. I'm including photos (the inspo pictures and my result) so others can make their own judgment. I always prefer to handle these things privately, but I also believe in transparency, especially when your first experience as a client leaves you feeling dismissed.

I arrived about 10 minutes before about my appointment and was able to park right in front of the salon. I was greeted warmly by Jenna upon arrival when I checked in. My hair was in pretty rough shape, and Chelsea and I discussed what I requested ( at length) and gave me her recommendations as soon as I sat in her chair. What a lovely young lady she is. She did a remarkable job considering what she had to work with ( I had not done my hair for almost a full year). She is polite, professional, kind l, patient and competent. I will be back in July and look forward to building a relationship with her as my new stylist and Magnolia Jane as my new salon.
