The course is in great shape and will be returning soon to play here again. Thanks to all of the staff there that keep this course in spectacular shape. Some pros and cons. Pros: Convenient location, easy access with plenty of parking. The staff here are excellent, from dropping off your bags, inside the proshop, to the starter, always a pleasure to interact with them all. The practice areas here are phenomenal, huge putting green with lots of room to make long putts. Driving range is awesome and will accommodate several golfers. Ice machine and cold-water dispensers are on each 9 of this course and by the practice putting green for all golfers. The golf carts are very clean and comfortable to ride in. Also, in cart each player gets tees and a towel to clean your clubs. It's a nice touch Ball cleaners throughout the course and they don't have any bad odors being released from them. So many courses out there that don't change the water in them. The bathrooms are in excellent condition, so clean! Cons: Carts do not have GPS.

The course was in impeccable shape with beautiful greens, pristine tee boxes, and stunning water features. Every course should have that. Great place to play!

My favorite duo of courses in the area excluding the higher end destination resort courses at…read moreStreamsong. Their members must be thrilled with the two courses they got. Both are so very different playing experiences. Commander is a fun, championship, modern, strategic golf course that rewards smart angles into the green with makeable putts. You need to drive your ball fairly well here, but there aren't as many hazards, so much as bad approaches into the green that bring hazards into play due to an errant drive. I'd argue it has two of the better par fives in the area in the 1st and 18th holes. Piper is a true lynx course that is extremely windy and crooked. It makes you use your tee shot to choose yardages into the greens wisely since missing a green on Piper means trying to get up and down with your pitch or chip on extraordinarily undeleting greens with several complexes. Often if you are on the wrong level it is almost a guaranteed bogey trying to get to the correct level. It's more fun than I've made it sound I promise! It's one of my favorite in the area and a lot of fun to play when there's just a touch of wind but not too much. Their practice facility comprised of a range, bunkers, pitching and chipping area, and putting green both near those and near the first hole of both courses is unmatched in the area.

The fellas in the pro shop were short and disinterested -- as many golfers have come to expect from more elite establishments -- but the cart attendants were cordial and apologetic (they didn't secure my bag properly so it fell off as I pulled away). The course itself is beautiful. Massive, well manicured greens, pristine water features on nearly every hole, beautiful fairways and tee boxes. The course does wind through a new neighborhood and construction is ongoing so you need to be prepared for that. The worst part of the day was the 5 hour round. I despise when courses get greedy and pinch too many foursomes off back to back. My threesome waited literally every single hole. There was no ranger on the course to speed up play but our cart would routinely tell us to pick up the pace as we waited on groups stacked up on each hole. The front 9 along took nearly 3 hours. This is unacceptable for any golf course but especially a nice course such as this. There are loads of nice courses in the Bay area so I'd recommend one that spaces out groups better or enforces pace of play.

While the food is grouped correctly, hot vs. cold, the first line should be cold, the next line, hot. They do have an omelette station but you miss whatever is going on there after you go to line one which is hot breakfast line. I am a chef and banquet caterer and know that this set up is confusing. The dessert table seems like an after thought as it is located on the way to the exit out of the dining room. Perhaps lining up the food stations around the perimeter and bringing the dining tables to where the current food lines are would not lose dining table count...or creating a T station.... would be better. That being said, our waitress was not too on the ball and was unsure how to host a table. No pleasantries, no offer of coffee, no removal of dishes and about a half hour wait for payments to be processed and charge errors to be corrected. She needs to shadow another seasoned employee for a while. Because I know the business, I do allow for every kind of calamity and am not bothered, but like to give advice. My group, on the other hand, was very confused and disappointed. The food was good. The service needs cleaning up. The set up needs a redo for efficiency. I would recommend this place for brunch but be prepared for some compromise. It is a professional 6 out of 10. Once improvements are made, it can elevate to 9 out of 10.
