Hours of business are erratic used to love going when they had the buffet on Monday to Friday.

The food all tastes the same- the veggies and meat and noodles ALL have the same texture if you get one of the noodle dishes. Everything just tastes pre made and bland. I've tried multiple food items on the menu and I'm disappointed almost every time. The one thing I don't mind is the crab rangoon- but it is still served with what seems to be a canned sweet and sour sauce for dipping. If you want Chinese just go to TC- don't waste your money here. Seriously some of the best Chinese and Thai food I've ever had! My husband had the Almond Boneless Chicken with brown sauce instead of white. He said the sauce was rich and flavorful and the breading on the chicken had a light and wonderful flavor that really added to the dish. The chicken itself was tender and quality white meat. He also got the Chicken Fried Rice, it was seasoned to perfection. I had the Spicy Thai Fried Rice. It had just the right amount of spice and was delicious. I also had the Vegetable Lo Mein. The sauce was delicate and full of flavor and the vegetables were cooked perfectly, not too hard and not mushy. You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't patronize this establishment. read more

Large portions of mediocrity. I'd be happy with half the portion and twice the quality. Pepper chicken was just chunks of white meat with a heap of green peppers and a little sauce. Very disappointing. The egg drop soup looked like water with a few cabbage pieces in it, so I didn't even try it. Wound up eating a few bites and throwing the rest away. In doors has been closed for quite some time. Really miss the buffet. They also took away the best thing on their menu- the egg drop soup. Other than that a great little restaurant. Would love to give them 5 stars if they opened indoors again and brought the egg drop soup back. read more

A typical Thai-Chinese place. Nothing special. We had pot stickers, which were very good, pad Thai and beef with pea pods. The food tasted like processed food. The pad Thai noodles were thin and tasteless. The beef sauce was thick and gooey. The prices are very reasonable, however. But you get what you pay for. They have a lunch buffet on weekdays. We'll have to check that next to try other dishes. read more

Great portions. The egg drop soup was clear and simple, but good. However, the sesame chicken was disappointing. Very light in color and not thick, and doesn't taste like any other sesame chicken I've ever had. The sweet and sour sauce was orange and didn't have the best flavor. Their fried rice is: rice, soy sauce and egg particles, like they skimp on the usual ingredients. I wish they would improve their sauces. Everywhere I ever lived, there was always a great Chinese restaurant, for Kalkaska this is the only Chinese restaurant and it's sadly not one I will likely go back to. read more

Wanted to love this place but, Fried Rice was just rice with soy sauce. The Pad Prik wasn't even spicy let alone hot, it also had a burnt flavor. The Sesame Chicken was OK. We ordered take out, it took almost 45 minutes for "Mao" to be bothered to come take the payment. By the time we got the food home (We're less than 5 minutes away) the food was cold. Whenever my girlfriend and I visit her family in Kalkaska we stop in, usually for their lunch buffet. I love the sesame chicken and fried rice, she loves their green beans and we both love their crab wontons. The decor is horrible, old Chinese restaurant that is outdated. I love this place! I live in Chicago but I come here every time I go Up North to visit my folks. I always get the buffet. The egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, and crab rangoons are great, and the egg drop soup is absolutely to die for. I have eaten at Chinese restaurants all over the Midwest and I have never found egg drop soup this good. The sesame chicken is also excellent. I can't get enough of their egg drop soup. If I had one near me, I would eat there every day. Sadly, it is not a chain, but a cute little mom and pop joint. Common fare on their buffet, fast and easy meal. Nothing you haven't seen at any other Chinese buffet. Price is OK for what you get. To be fair, have not tried anything but the buffet. Nice people, give it a try. read more

Delicious food. Large menu for the size of the establishment. Could use a little updating and service can be a bit slow at times but the staff is more than friendly, food is always hot and fresh, and the building is always clean. They have earned our repeat business. read more

This place is perfect. The egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, and crab rangoons are great, and the egg drop soup is absolutely spectacular. Best I've found. The sesame chicken is also excellent. The service is good, the waitresses and the cashier are all very nice. The only con I can see is that it is hard for my elderly dad's wheelchair to get through the door. Granted, it's an extra wide chair, as he is a big man. But since he doesn't get out much, being able to go out to lunch or dinner occasionally would be a nice thing for him. read more

I ordered the General Tao's chicken. The quality of the chicken was terrible. There was an abundance of grisole and fat. It almost seemed undercooked. The sauce was overbearingly sweet. I will absolutely NEVER order from there again. It was a waste of my time and money. I would give zero stars if possible. read more
