Allowing this to remain was one of the worst decisions my family ever could have made. The food is decent at best and the food service staff in majority is poor, as is their current hostess. She shows inherent favoritism where residents who "play the game" through flattery, begging and bribery receive assistance, while others do not. The other residents are ignored or keep their concerns to themselves for fear of repercussion. The residents are spoken down to in rude tone of voice, things are muttered at them under their breath or are ignored altogether. Tonight two servers said "what do you expect? I'm busy!" to two tables who asked for their drinks having not received them half way through their meals. When I inquired about this I was told it was because they were "short staffed" and our waitress had to cover 6 tables. Nevertheless, order of operations is to bring drinks first and then food. Additionally, especially in a medically fragile population, food without a beverage is a choking hazard. When I asked the hostess, who acts as the "manager" she shouted while walking by our table that she didn't know why it was "any of my business", a comment that is both rudely unnecessary and ignorant. My grandfather is and will ALWAYS be my business, As are all people who are being treated unkindly or unfairly, as it is part of my code of ethics as a medical professional and my charge as a decent human being. Additionally, the apartment buildings are poorly maintained and often smell. Despite having cleaning services, the apartment is generally dirty and requires that we clean it ourselves, despite the fact that my grandfather at 90 still vacuums daily, he cannot clean the bathrooms as it is a safety risk for his to bend over and scrub. I often wonder if we should hire additional outside cleaning services, as whenever I come to visit their are mold rings in the toilet bowls, dust everywhere and he is often told to "stay out of her way or leave" so she can clean. Management staff is difficult to contact, as evidenced by the fact they don't even list their numbers on their website in a contact directory. I cannot encourage you enough to look for other placement for your loved ones, I rather beg of you.

On Monday evening, I arrived to ER at my PCP's urgent urging. They quickly processed me through, gave me my bloodwork and imaging. The waiting room was packed. One man spent hours crying out with abdominal pain. Another crazy had a few outbursts requiring security. I lost track of time watching elderly patients going unattended. I saw no less than three patients leave in desperation. Somewhere between 8 and 10 hours later, with no contact by medical staff to let me know what was going on, I was finally given a room in the ER. I can't be certain about the times, but I got settled around 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning and spent the rest of the night listening to a blind elderly woman screaming from her gurney in the hallway outside my room. I may have slept an hour before a staff member burst in and turned on the overhead lights to take my blood pressure again. In the morning following doctors visits they told me they'd found a room. I was rolled down the hall to what I call a tent room. The hall was a loud pass through with loud traffic and desks and noisy machinery rolling by. At my own home I had been sleeping on and off during the day. This new accommodation would keep me awake all day and into the night until I was too tired and slept until the nurses' station staff were laughing and telling stories throughout the night. While the doctors and nurses and professional staff were attentive and knowledgable, if you're looking for a hygienic, quiet repose, don't come here! (PS I am getting better though)

This is fantastic facility and is very secure so be prepared to go through a Magnetometer and have you photo taken and a badge assigned to you before proceeding to conduct your business. There is some ongoing construction going on to expand this facility's capacity but it's contained and didn't affect entering or exiting the property however getting here can be a little challenging with all the traffic in the area. The staff here was really friendly and accommodating and I found the layout of this hospital to be very user friendly with good signage throughout. We found our way to our friend's room without any assistance and had a wonderful visit. I was told the level of care has been amazing and attentive, so we all have high expectations that the results will match the staff's professionalism and competency - I'm sure I'll return a few more times in the next few weeks to check on my buddy but it's reassuring knowing he is receiving the best care possible...

She was an extremely articulate and humorous speaker who seemed to really know her stuff and I was to find out when it really mattered that my first impression was spot on. A few months after attending the presentation, I unfortunately let another consultant convince me to use him as he was claiming Ms. Risner was far too busy to give me her full attention and good service but it turned out to be him that would drop the ball in so many ways it was ridiculous!! Luckily when I needed advice regarding the previous choices I made, I remembered her comments and her encouragement to give her a call even if she was not my consultant and she'd be sure to give me her best thinking so I called her, made an appointment, met with her just this past week and I sure am glad I did! When we met at her office, she was completely 100% invested in what I needed which was advice regarding my Part D Medicare Drug plan which had changed drastically after I had renewed it during the past open enrollment. She was so engaged that not only did she help me with my Part D issues, she also noticed that I would save money on my Medigap premium if I was willing to consider changing plans as is allowed with the Medigap plans & so by going with her suggestion, she saved me $28.44 a month on my remaining nine monthly premiums because she noticed the alternative plan that was almost identical to the one I originally chose but had experienced a 7.7% decrease in the premium cost with the only change being that I would be responsible for the full or partial $185 deductible if any of it was not paid (which it turned out was paid in full in January due to a lot of medical charges that had already gone through.) She took her time, gave me her full attention, and expertly showed me the plan coverage, and even documentation of the price decrease. Also, she even confirmed that no additional underwriting would be necessary if I chose to stay with my current plan provider. She answered every question I had and didn't rush me nor did she make me feel badly about asking lots of questions as I was a bit confused about the change at first. Today when I called the plan provider they confirmed every single thing Ms. Risner had told me as well as confirmed the total cost savings of $256. That is quite a savings!! If you need someone to help you make good decisions regarding healthcare insurance and Medicare issues, look no further than Teresa Risner and her company LTC Advisors. I'll be referring all my friends and neighbors to her!!
