It's something you must experience in person! The three-story building looks new and is tastefully decorated and well maintained. The food is consistently tasty and creatively prepared, and the cleaning staff keep all the rooms impeccably clean and fresh. My friend pays over $1,000 less rent than previous location and enjoys the convenience of of an ACH bank withdrawal taken by ALF each month after setup. You can choose from a studio, one of three designs of one-bedroom apartments or one of two designs of two-bedroom apartments. Memory Care, now Advanced Care, is available for those with special needs. There are many musicians, bands and performers hired to entertain, and there's also Bingo and many other activities and Happy Hour. Two modern and huge elevators transport residents between floors. Recent events include Easter brunch, Mother's Day and Father's Day lunches and a special cruise on a River Boat Paddlewheeler with a great dinner served. I believe that Heritage-Waterside is special starting with Executive Director Mary Noss and because it is family owned and not an asset of a large corporation. Definitely they have some areas that need improvement, but the majority of the staff were excellent, especially the doctors, therapists, and administration. Their equipment and protocols are very good. Staffing is (as usual in health care), the biggest concern. They are desperately short on speech therapists. And the quality of many of the CNAs certainly needs improvement (although many were outstanding). If your loved one has trouble communicating or even knowing when to ask for help with basic needs, you will want someone from your family present for the majority of the waking hours to make sure their needs are met. The CNAs are just too busy to check on patients enough to take adequate care of their basic needs. Also, someone will need to be there at all times because you never know when a doctor is going to stop in. If you have any concerns to discuss (which you probably will), or just want to hear a report, you need to be there so you don't miss the visit. The one other thing to consider is the scheduling of therapy. Sometimes the sessions are scheduled too close together. Some recovery/rest/eating/bathroom/medication administration time is needed in between or else little value is gained from the therapy. We often had to ask for adjustments so my (very tired from the stroke) Dad didn't have 2 or 3 hours in a row of therapy. When you think about how weak someone is from ailments/surgeries/medications/stress, asking them to do 1.5 hours of therapy is like asking a well person to do cross fit for a full 1.5 hours! It's a lot! A rest is needed before the next session. But the bottom line is, the majority of the care at Brooks is excellent. The staff are mostly truly caring and go out of their way to give outstanding care. We are so grateful to Dr. Perez, Hugo, Muong Hwa, Michelle, Susie (Jesusa), Irish, Tara, Shaniah, Donna, Kate, and SO many more!

Every floor has 4 balconies.\nAnd they are large... pets are welcome.\nAnd there's a lot of 'em! Everyone is so friendly and caring towards each other and we are the baby boomers! I moved from South Florida to here because South Florida is not what I moved to in 1988. There's crime there's shootings and one shooting happen about 3 miles from my home. I said I have to get out of here and since coming to grand Villa, I rarely think of where I came from the staff is amazing. The Director is incredibly amazing and more than that. Is this person who didn't have to convince me about this place, but has been the most in touch with me since I've been here and when I wasn't here yet, and we had regular conversations almost on a daily, it was like I would call and if she was busy I could text her and she would respond to me almost immediately never more than three minutes. Amber is a great addition to this facility as well as Tim the Director the restaurant staff and the people what are what makes this place a jewel I use a place for mom as my search engine and I want to tell you that Desiree in Boca is a outstanding representative of a place for mom. And with Amber's help I have really made this my home Palm Coast is a wonderful place to live people say well how long are you gonna be there? I said I feel safe and secure and the people are very nice. I have no reason to leave there's wild turkeys that are walking around the property. I'm not saying there's 50 of them in the flock there's 45, but it makes the place very special And I can't think Amber enough for being there for me and being there for all the residence if you're looking for a place and I'm serious, call Desiree at a place for mom.
