I want to first state that the work done at our house was excellent and timely and the field…read moreworkers were professional and kind. The issue and concern we have with Foundation Restoration is a lack of transparency. We had 32 posts replaced under our house and were given a "lump sum" estimate that we signed and agreed to. It was communicated to us that the work would take place from 10/31-11/2 (roughly 3 days). The job wrapped up yesterday and in total it only took them one full day and 3/4 of another. We received our invoice this morning which literally just had a one-sentence description of the work followed by the remaining balance. I appreciated their promptness in getting us an email and requested that we see an itemized breakdown of how our $8k+ job was delineated. All I was looking for was to see how much of the $8K+ was going to labor and how much was going to materials. After three different exchanges, they are still refusing to give any information. Our house was flooded last year and over the course of 8 months repairing our home, we have worked with numerous companies. EVERY company we have worked with has at minimum given us a breakdown of labor and material costs. I'm frustrated because I genuinely believe the cost for our project was estimated significantly higher than the actual cost and Foundation Restoration is unwilling to specify their labor/material costs so they can hide behind a "lump sum" estimate. For these reasons, I would NOT recommend Foundation Restoration.

We asked for an evaluation by Basement Systems Vancouver and we were promptly given a written estimate by Gerald. Basement systems Vancouver installed a cleanspace crawl space encapsulation, rigid R10 insulation in the rim joint around the perimeter of the home and air sealed all gaps and seams. A Dehumidifier was installed. The work was done as scheduled, on time, and as described with a high level of professionalism. The team was excellent and we are very pleased with the result. Based on our excellent experience, we will be using this company again in the near future for another home that has a similar crawl space issue.

I've hired M & M Home Repair twice: March 2019 and January 2021 to fix broken backyard fence both…read moretimes. Here are pros & cons and my advice if you are thinking of hiring them. PROS + Mike tries to address the cause of the problem. I have lost a total of 7 fence posts in the past 5 years because they rot. Mike used the Rotbloc Wrap to prevent the posts from rotting under the ground. + Mike was able to give me a free estimate and repaired my face. There were delays but he did it in the end. I tried to get a quote from big names in town, but I couldn't. CONS -Both times when I hired Mike, there was a problem with details, some big, some small. First time (2019), his crew fixed my fence but didn't do a good job. He had to come back to fix it himself. Second time (2021), I notice that one of the posts was longer and a few of them were shorter than other posts. He fixed the post that was too long, but there was nothing that could be done with the two posts that are too short (by about 6 inches). ADVICE *Make sure to inspect the site when they are done to make sure everything looks good. *Get quotes from other contractors. I found out later that a Yelper friend of mine in town hired a different contractor and paid less than half of what I paid. I could be comparing apples and oranges, but both he and I had 4 posts replaced in January 2021. Send me a private message if you want to know who my Yelp friend used. *Pay cash/check. There's a 3.9% processing fee for credit card payments. Overall, I'm happy with M & M, and I think I will use them again. However, I would definitely get a quote from other contractors first. ************************************************************ Don't forget to like my review (useful and/or cool)!
