Incredibly picturesque from the outside, and upon entering I really wasn't disappointed. They sell…read morea wide range of high quality items for the home, and also have a good selection of gifts available. My only slight complaint is that there was a rather odd smell when I was in there (rather worrying as there is a café upstairs). However don't le this you off, this is a lovely little shop and really helped make me fall in love with the incredibly quaint and unusual Lantrisant.

Ornaments; expensive watches, china, vases, paintings, a grandfather clock or two, jewellery, furniture and some stairs slap bang in the middle of it all leading up to a second floor, where there is a... a tiny, busy little cafe all springing and is full of wonderful life and joy. Down stairs you can hear the chattering of female voices; the old baby or toddler crying, plates, knives, forks, and cutlery cluttering together, and sometimes the odd smashing sound of china, but that is extremely rare. A small cafe that is very popular; making it very busy regularly, depending on the time of year perhaps. It is a quaint and neat building and cafe and I have enjoyed going there every so often. It is out of the back and beyond almost, but there are some other shops and places to visit around there. The food prices are brilliant and I always enjoy having crisps with every yummy sandwich order and the delicious creamy cakes. The staff are very happy and smiley people and they welcome you to their hubby hole, that is very cosy indeed.

The only reason I'm reviewing this store, is they had fireworks, when we needed them. Eventually we found Asda Living, next the the Aldi we had originally planned to source our gunpowder based products. Aldi couldn't oblige - extreme confusion about what they did and didn't have, plus a rather extended delay to get keys to the cabinet, all combined to ensure we left before the manager returned with the keys. Asda Living, you little beauty!! Just when we thought our sum total of fireworks would have been 10, plus sparklers..........the kids would have revolted, and thrown us on the bonfire! Asda Living sorted us out with £90 worth of fountains, candles, mines and a 300 shot centrepiece. (over 40 items in all, many were multi shot items) The kids were mighty impressed, so were all the adults. P.S Asda - maybe you want to include this gem of a store on your online store locator - it's not there, that's why details here are limited (the unit no. maybe wrong, but Aldi is definitely unit 3)

What we don't understand is why the adults clothes seem so frowy and dowdy when the kids clothes are so funky. I spent a desperate hour in here trying to find fun skirts in the kids department in the biggest sizes then going into the changing rooms and optimistically pulling on stuff that didn't go past my hips. If I'd wanted school uniform I'd have been ok but my desperation hasn't quite reached that far.

We are extremely disappointed with the service received by Leekes. In our experience, they have…read morebeen wholly incompetent. While we realise that 'mistakes happen' the calibre of the company is determined by the way in which it deals with those mistakes. Leekes Llantrisant has fallen sadly short in this regard. On 9 April 2025, we purchased a Kettler Mini Corner Sofa Set and paid £2,135 for the set plus the covers. At the time of purchase, we were specifically told by the Sales Assistant that it came with an adjustable table; we queried this as it was a key selling point for us due to my husband's disability. We took delivery of the furniture on 20 May 2025. When constructing it, we noticed that the table was not the adjustable table we had ordered. I telephoned Leekes that afternoon and they said that the Sales Assistant we had dealt with would ring me first thing the following morning. I was not telephoned as promised, but received an email stating : "I have been made aware that you believed you would be receiving the adjustable table. The adjustable table is only available with the larger corner group which costs £2199. The set you chose for £1799 is the set that has the slatted top table, hence why it is slightly cheaper." The cost quoted in the email was incorrect. I telephoned the store to find out what was going on, at which time it was acknowledged that an error had been made. The Sales Assistant stated that 'mistakes happen' and if I wanted the adjustable table, I had to pay an extra (circa) £200. I said I was not prepared to do this as I had specifically been told that the adjustable table was included in the original price. Consequently, I asked that Leekes collect the furniture and the covers and issue a refund. The Sales Assistant stated that this was not an option and if I wanted the adjustable table, I had to pay the extra. This was not an acceptable resolution. Following a conversation with Trading Standards, I submitted a complaint to the Customer Services Department on 21 May 2025. I suggested that somebody other than the Sales Assistant we had dealt with check exactly what was ordered as the invoice and the costs quoted in the email did not tally. It then transpired that the wrong sofa, as well as the wrong table had been ordered and sent to us, so a new delivery had to be made the following week. We requested that Leekes arrange for someone to put the furniture together for us, as my husband had already struggled to do this once, and due to his disability, this would be difficult for him to do again. The fact this had to be done a second time was solely because of errors made by Leekes. We were told this was not possible, and it was suggested that we use a handy man at our own cost. We will not be purchasing from this company again.

The Shop itself is split into sections so its easier to find your way around. There is a bed shop, kitchens, bathrooms, DIY, Sports section, electronics, gifts and crafts, pets and a large garden section with lots of ponds and fish too. I would say that you could easier spend half a day at Leekes looking at everything. They also have a handy coffee shop and cafe so you can have a think before you spend all your hard earned cash. It also has plenty of car parking and the staff will help carry your purchases to the car to.
