We are extremely disappointed with the service received by Leekes. In our experience, they have been wholly incompetent. While we realise that 'mistakes happen' the calibre of the company is determined by the way in which it deals with those mistakes. Leekes Llantrisant has fallen sadly short in this regard. On 9 April 2025, we purchased a Kettler Mini Corner Sofa Set and paid £2,135 for the set plus the covers. At the time of purchase, we were specifically told by the Sales Assistant that it came with an adjustable table; we queried this as it was a key selling point for us due to my husband's disability. We took delivery of the furniture on 20 May 2025. When constructing it, we noticed that the table was not the adjustable table we had ordered. I telephoned Leekes that afternoon and they said that the Sales Assistant we had dealt with would ring me first thing the following morning. I was not telephoned as promised, but received an email stating : "I have been made aware that you believed you would be receiving the adjustable table. The adjustable table is only available with the larger corner group which costs £2199. The set you chose for £1799 is the set that has the slatted top table, hence why it is slightly cheaper." The cost quoted in the email was incorrect. I telephoned the store to find out what was going on, at which time it was acknowledged that an error had been made. The Sales Assistant stated that 'mistakes happen' and if I wanted the adjustable table, I had to pay an extra (circa) £200. I said I was not prepared to do this as I had specifically been told that the adjustable table was included in the original price. Consequently, I asked that Leekes collect the furniture and the covers and issue a refund. The Sales Assistant stated that this was not an option and if I wanted the adjustable table, I had to pay the extra. This was not an acceptable resolution. Following a conversation with Trading Standards, I submitted a complaint to the Customer Services Department on 21 May 2025. I suggested that somebody other than the Sales Assistant we had dealt with check exactly what was ordered as the invoice and the costs quoted in the email did not tally. It then transpired that the wrong sofa, as well as the wrong table had been ordered and sent to us, so a new delivery had to be made the following week. We requested that Leekes arrange for someone to put the furniture together for us, as my husband had already struggled to do this once, and due to his disability, this would be difficult for him to do again. The fact this had to be done a second time was solely because of errors made by Leekes. We were told this was not possible, and it was suggested that we use a handy man at our own cost. We will not be purchasing from this company again. read more

When I was young not a weekend used to go by when we didn't seem to be at Leekes. Its one of these amazingly big home stores that pretty much sells everything. The Shop itself is split into sections so its easier to find your way around. There is a bed shop, kitchens, bathrooms, DIY, Sports section, electronics, gifts and crafts, pets and a large garden section with lots of ponds and fish too. I would say that you could easier spend half a day at Leekes looking at everything. They also have a handy coffee shop and cafe so you can have a think before you spend all your hard earned cash. It also has plenty of car parking and the staff will help carry your purchases to the car to. read more

This is a large out of town store that sells everything you could ever want for your home. It sells lots of DIY items, furniture, bathrooms and kitchens. It also sells accessories and a great range of gifts. It has a garden centre, an aquatic centre and a sports department which includes golfing items. There are plenty of parking spare at the front of the store and there is great coffee shop which I can recommend the corned beef pie. read more

We regret every day after we got our conservatory there January 2012 it's now August 2013 and it is still not resolved, customer services not interested, the builers usless, manager is not on this planet, we are now dreading winter this year again as our conservatory is open plan on to the kitchen, when it's a bit windy the french doors leading on to the other rooms from the kichen open on their own as draught come in through the bifolding doors, some of the windows and parts of the roof, so we don't recommend leekes read more

See email chain with one of the directors: Chris Leeke. Ref: SO-03-596035 Dear Chris Leeke, Thank you for your letter dated 20/05/2014, I appreciate your apologies but after all the let downs we have had from the Leekes, I feel that that isn't enough. Going forward from your letter I do appreciate that we had £100 in store vouchers and a loan sofa. The loan sofa would be required due to the error Leekes made with the colour and since the lack of room we have in the property the old Sofa was discarded to allow for the promised date (which was abided by). I was advised by Nia Jones in Cross Hands and Maria in customer Service that that is something they would offer in a circumstance like this. I would also like to advise that we made it clear that the sofa would be removed the day before we have a delivery date set in stone due to the lack of room we have. This information was passed on to the lady who took our sale in the furniture department Leekes (I believe that was Lyn). Can you advise that this isn't a common form of practice to undertake? I have purchased sofas in the past and have always undertaken this process (Without any faults). The reason why I decided Leekes this time was the fact that I have worked for you and know that quality and customer service is driven through from top to bottom. The leekes name and brand speaks for itself! Unfortunately...This has fallen far short from what I was expecting and feel that the service has been the worse experience I have ever had. I work for BT Wholesale and deal with large international customers on a daily basis and have been trained to give nothing but the best customer service and always insure that the customer is kept up to date without them chasing me. Leekes on the other hand seem to take a stance on the customer needs to chase. Who would have advised me if I didn't chase my sofa for its promised delivery date in May? I called a couple of days before delivery date to be told "I'm afraid that there is an issue with the supplier getting that material and there is going to be a delay". So look at the following that I put to you under a rough guide since I don't have letters in front of me: 1: Order the sofa in January 2014 2: March the sofa arrives at my property (Wrong colour) 3: I was told that they will escalate to the supplier but we could be looking at another 8 weeks 4: I was told that the sofa is looking to be delayed again due to the manufacturer closing the factory for two weeks in April 5: Had a delivery date set for May 12th 6: I called a couple of days before to double check that the sofa is coming (Clearly I had lost faith in Leekes to do this) 7: I was told that there is a delay due to the Manufacturer having an issue with their supplier getting the colour we requested. 8: Told that the target date was early June/July (Not set in Stone though) 9: I asked Marie to issue a full refund due to the timescale and let down's we have occurred. A question for you and your support: Why wasn't the issue with the fabric picked up once I said the sofa was the wrong colour? The manufacturer should clearly know what orders they have and how much fabric is needed. So with the above, it is clear that there was a breakdown and focus on getting this escalation/complaint resolved for my partner Simone and I. The transition process from start to finish (no finish really) has been lack less and a complete shambles. This to me would seem like a company that has newly opened and doesn't have a clue on what customer service is about! The leekes brand has been around for years and that is the shocking thing. Going on from that we have the £100 in store vouchers. The vouchers were issued to Simone and I due to the sofa being the wrong colour highlighted above under number 2. Are you now advising that the £100 in store Vouchers were issued to us because you knew that all the above was happening from the start? The reason for my complaint in to you was to seek further compensation due to the issue from 3 onwards. I state the following from your letter "However I believe that the £100 in store vouchers you received from Glyn Morgan the Store Manager along with the loan suite is a fair and reasonable gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience encountered, and I and not prepared to increase this" so you are clearly saying you knew about all above issue from the day the loan sofa and vouchers were issued. This is how your letter comes across I'm afraid and that is how several others read it. I can understand that the £100 vouchers were given for the initial delay but not all the other issues I have encountered on the deration of this roller-coaster ride. My partner is terminally ill and has advised you that the sofa was crucial for my partner's health but since you have failed your agreement the £100 was issued. The customer service and further agreement was broken seve read more

History
Established in 1897.
In the 1970s the first of the Leekes home department stores opened “out of town” near Llantrisant, just a few miles from the original store followed by another in Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire in 1984 and then Melksham, Wiltshire in 1992. In November 2009, Leekes acquired the Midlands-based ‘Cole’s Home Furnishers Group’ including its flagship store in Bilston, Wolverhampton. In 2016 they acquired Bristol’s largest independent furniture store, another family business, Park Furnishers which continues to operate under its original name. The most recent announcement was of the business’ expansion into Cardiff where it has taken a lease on a store on Newport Road from where it will retail sofas, dining, beds and kitchens. Each of the home department stores sell ‘everything for the home’ from the bricks and blocks to build a house from the foundations up through to the products for every room from kitchens to bathrooms, sofas to beds and all the finishing touches.

Leekes after sales is the worst Ive ever experienced !!!! When we bought tiles for our kitchen/conservatory project, we were advised by the salesman to by the entire amount needed for both areas even though the conservatory was to get done first followed by kitchen diner. This was to ensure the stock would not run out, the color/pattern and size would be similar as they would be from same batch number. After picking up the first part of order at warehouse we were told to leave the rest until we were ready for them, they took remainder back into warehouse on pallet. After a call from them to pick up tiles. I went to warehouse to pick them up. After waiting for over hour we were told that they were not there and no one could find them!! Short story is they had sold them!! No more were in company, we waited for over 2 months for others to arrive. Their attitude was what can we do?. Well firstly dont sell my friggin tiles !! Secondly return calls when you say you will. We did get a £150 voucher to spend at store, which did not cover my expenses at all. After buying some stools from them with vouchers, we were told to collect part of the order from warehouse during following week, we went and guess what? Not at warehouse, stools were at store!! Went to store and was told to wait by front door while someone got them, Half hour later Ihad to go back and ask salesman where they were? "On his way ". Where from???? ABSOLUTE MUPPETS!!!!! DONT BUY FROM THERE read more

Its a shame you cant give 0 stars good products, however sales and delivery services are terrible, when ordering items we were led to believe there was a 12 week wait for delivery this is longer that most furniture delivery stores but we were prepared to wait. Its now been 12 weeks to the day, spoken with leekes and they have advised a new delivery date of janaury 2013 how is it possible in 2012 you have to wait for 6 MONTHS for delivery of items! They refuse to refund our deposit as we would happily take our business else where. I can assure you we will never shop here again and advise others not to purchase furniture from here if you want a swift delivery. To make things worse, we visited the store 1 week ago to enquire about the delivery times and they are now promosing delivery before christmas or the furniture is free, only on new orders though!!! ??? why do we have to wait longer when we orderd our furniture over 3 months ago!! read more

The worst post sales care I have ever experienced. I would strongly advise anyone NOT to buy goods from them. My wife and I brought a bed from leekes as she was 5 months pregnant with a bad back. It broke within weeks and despite and engineers report stating the bed was sub standard construction, badly mad and dangerous we are still waiting for a replacement bed...... 3 months later!! We have been faced with rude customer care, no sympathy and even had to endure the comment 'I've said im sorry what more do you want?'. I know this sounds like sour grapes but there are other companies out there with much better customer services and staff who have been trained to be pleasant and professional. Once again do not use them! If I could give tehm zero I would! read more

BAD BAD BAD. I cannot begin to explain how awful leekes were to me. I spent over £3500 on product that broke within weeks. Leekes failed to pick it up, failed to give me my money back and failed to replace a new one - i had to wait over 3 months for a the problem to be ressolved after countless complaints that took months!! In the current economic climate I am amazed that Leekes are so flippant and negligent towards customers. Avoid at all costs. I shall never shop with them again - go to Arthur Lllewelyn jenkins or john lewis instead - they are brilliant!! read more

Wish I'd read these reviews before I bought a £1,500 bed in December from Leekes. Never again. They took full payment upfront, delivery and assembly were farcical and inept, customer service atrocious, attitude negative and disrespectful. Like others on this review site I have had to chase, chase, chase, they have not contacted me once. Also having problems with getting my refund from them after rejecting the bed. I am so disappointed and angry Leekes used to be a good shop but no longer. Be warned. read more

Purchased on line from Leekes not knowing the stores at all as I live in S E England. Only on line store with the placemats and coasters I wanted price was excellent, delivery worked a dream arrived in excellently packed parcel and all in great cvondition. I really didn't think a provincial dept store would be able to do as well as the big on line organisations but they really, really did and I'm very impressed will shop with them again. Thank you Leekes read more

Leekes what can I say. Paid my deposit for a conservatory beginning of September and now it is March and it is still not finished. A comedy of errors and they are still making mistakes learn from ours dont go there. It is so bad our neighbours who recommended them are so annoyed they have apologised to us and are deciding whether to give Leekes a ring themselves because they have seen how bad they have treated us. I have cried over this. J McCarthy read more
