We swung by at around 22:30 and asked if they were open. They were not, but they had an order that wasn't picked up and were nice enough to sell it to us. The chicken tikka masala was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. read more

I popped in around 8:45 so a later dinner probably helped me. Sticking to my routine, I ordered chicken tiki masala and cheese naan. I will say this is some of the best, most tender chicken I have ever had in my masala and the cheese naan was on par to be the best cheese naan I have had...and I eat lots of Indian food, it is pretty top on my food group list. If you are like me and like spice but not too much spice, I ordered the Belgium spice level 2. Now I pride myself on being able to handle heat and I suggest this level or maybe even one lower if you are similar. I was surprised at the level of heat for a Belgium level 2. Maybe I am loosing footing on my spice level tolerance! Service was attentive, food excellent, and definitely worth a stop through!

This was a delightful experience from start to finish…read more After a day of strolling around Gent and working up an appetite, we landed on Himalayan. What a great choice that was. First and foremost, our server was bright, cheerful and caring, with a warm greeting at the door. As my dining companion had begun losing her voice, our server commented on my choice of drinking a cold beverage and said to my friend, "I'll make you a perfect warm tea" -- and "perfect" it was! The food was great, the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. Although we found ourselves lost in conversation and still there beyond closing time, we were never rushed or hurried -- only welcomed with smiles. Five stars for the overall experience along with bonus stars for the lovely service and making us feel special. A personal note to our server directly: "Thank you for creating a special moment for us." Until next time...

After 45 minutes no meal, no water and no silverware, yet waitstaff were all around us, somewhat busy but not so busy that other tables that came in much later than us received prompt service. After 45 minutes we got our meal, and I asked why we never got water. She seemed indifferent and left but never came back with water or silverware yet continued to wait on new and existing patrons around us. I finally went to to checkout area to ask about water and silverware, after which we finally received even a few more minutes wait. The chicken curry dish was not bad but the service and attention to detail on our order was very bad.

We took a break from Belgian/European cuisine and dined at India Palace…read more They have a really enticing vegetarian menu with a bunch of options. We started with the vegetarian appetizer platter. One of the first things I noticed is how cheap their menu is. It is less surprising when you see the portion sizes. The vegetarian appetizer "platter" is one samosa, two tofu strips, and a few fried ball-like things. Everything was good, especially the samosa, other than the "ball-like" things that were too oniony for me. Two of my dining partners ordered the lentil soup which I was able to sample, and it was very good. We tried a few different things to share including a bunch of their vegetarian curries including saag, the lentil one whose name escapes me at the moment, and a chickpea one with tofu. We also ordered vegetable biryani. If you can believe it, I somehow forgot to order naan. I don't know if it's just because I have really excellent Indian food in places where I live and have lived or I am just accustomed to a different palate or flavors but I did not like the biryani, it was almost sweet. The curries were varying levels of meh to good but nothing to write home about. The staff were very friendly and provided great service. The food came out promptly but not too promptly. Goldilocks promptly. We weren't able to finish everything but declined take away boxes because we were staying in a hotel, the staff member asked us for feedback on the food, assuming we didn't like it. "You can tell me". How wholesome is that??? The food is a 3.5 but the service bumps the overall rating up to a 4.

Well, the wife and I had to go fund out for ourselves. We booked a table via The Fork. (Get those Yums). We arrived 30 min early, due to the train, but it wasn't a problem as there wasn't anyone in the restaurant yet. A barrage of Uber Eats guys were constantly going in and out though. We ordered the Shrimp Tandoori Briyani, a Lamb Bhuna, and a Lamb Dopizaa, along with two Garlic Naans and a Raita. I also got a Kingfisher, you know, when in... Well, Indian. Let's put it this way... We ordered a feast for two. Service was great, we were given a little crunchy snack guy with some dipping sauces to wet the pallets. When the food arrived it took up the entire table. It was so damn good. The lamb in the curries were falling apart. The Briyani was very flavorful. The naan was chonky and full of garlic chunks, and topped with coriander and butter. We ate so much and the price, well, 20% off though The Fork. Unbeatable. Those Indians were spot on. I can't imagine any other Indian spot giving Paradise of India a run for their money.
