The quality of food surpasses some of my regular Indian dining experiences in Sydney and Canberra. Food was fresh, flavoursome and generous. The menu offers both familiar dishes and new experiences. The range of Nepalese dumplings on offer are an incentive for a future visit. Hopefully Danphe's fine dining venture in the further northern suburbs of Hobart is sign of a new era offering a greater range of varied and international dining options in the upper Derwent Valley. They did not take our order for 20+ minutes and then when we had realized no one had taken our order, we caught their attention and they took our order. Then when it was time to bring our food out, they brought over part of our food and then by the time the rice came and naan came, the other food became cold. Their food in general was ok and it was nothing special. Don't waste your time going there and don't be fooled with the fact that this place is so packed / busy. Aussies just love Indian food, more than people do here in the United States, so everyone just goes there giving the illusion that it is good. Also it probably doesn't hurt that it is conveniently located in Salamanca where all the cool restaurants and bars are. I heard from lot of people that Bombay House is much better.
