HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Gayle and I had some very nice meals in during are recent almost month-long trip in Australia. And we both agree that our Indian dinner at Amaranta Grill & Bar was the best. Everything was delicious and was one of the few Indian restaurants we've been where it was best to just point at a menu item and go for it.
We started off with cocktails, Gayle's being an exquisite Expresso Martini and mine being a tasty Mango Lassi. After our meal choices were served, it was sparking water and Kingfisher beer after that. My main course was a dish called "Delhi Haat Chicken Kadai" and while Gayle's was "Hyderabadi Bhuna Gosht". Add some Garlic Naan and Premiu Basmati Rice, and it was quite a beyond delicious feast.
Amaranta had more of a fine dining vs. family neighborhood vibe, with reservations encouraged. Service was professional, prompt, with maybe a tiny bit of translation challenge". It was a great "date night" out and one that Gayle and I would love to repeat if we ever find ourselves in Hobart again. read more
