My husband and I stopped here a few weeks ago and were so impressed!!! You have to pay a minimal fee of $2.00 to enter their store that they deduct from the cost of anything you buy (small store and it allows them to keep track of how many people are in the cute little store that is in a teepee) and trust me, you will find plenty of unique native American items. I got a few pairs of earrings and a hand carved flute from the Cherokee nation. Everyone loves the earrings and the flute is a surprise birthday present for my bro next month. The store owners are very friendly if you take the time to talk to them. They are very knowledgeable and will gladly take the time to talk to you. We plan on stopping by the very next chance we get. There were so many great items we wanted to buy! Kudos guys on creating a unique store that offers authentic native american Items. Once we get paid again, we will be headed your way! Dad walked up to the lady who owned the place and asked "what is this place" nicely and the lady asked him if we're paying $2 to view their gift shop or $5 to pay for parking. He declined paying and we started to go to the car and he said great service. The lady followed up with "I'm sick of thousands of loser like you" and we got into the car to leave. Her husband came out recording us and the car and followed us on the way out and yelled "GET OUT OF HERE!!!" and got closer to dads car and looked like he wanted to kick the car or do something but he threatened the cops being called. I'm glad to see the other reviews, just because knowing I wasn't the only one who has had the misery of stopping here gives me some sort of relief. These people are PSYCHOTIC. Today, I pulled in and snapped a quick picture. As I was leaving and got on the road, an old man opened his palm (as in showing all 5 digits). I was confused, so I turned around and went back up to ask what the issue was. BIG MISTAKE!! He and his wife were filming me and SCREAMING at me for taking the picture without paying $5 (?!?!?!) They said you had to pay $5 just to park there (of course, there are NO signs indicating such a policy). Then the man LUNGED at me (I seriously thought he was going to attack me) and told me to "Get the f*ck out of (there)" It's a shame when people like this ruin a good time for Rt 66 travelers. I wish I could use profanity on Yelp however that would just mean I would have to stoop to the owners level. Today I'm on my way to Branson with my parents and as we're driving down 44 my parents randomly flick off the teepes (mind you my cute little foreign parents don't even cuss or let alone get angry). Shocked and surprised I ask them what that was all about. Story time: My sweet dad had a heart attack 2 years ago so he took up fly fishing as a relaxing hobby since he's no spring chicken anymore. He bought a really old car to enjoy and both my mom and dad would drive it out the city and find places to fish. One weekend my brother decided to tag along and the car overheated. They stopped by this trolls business to check the car and so my dad could get out the car and take a breather real quick. Before they could even get out the car the owner lady (troll) came out saying she's going to call the cops and started yelling at my family. Little history: My mom has never in her entire life gotten into an argument with anyone and my dad is the first to remove himself from a hostile situation. They tried to explain to the troll about my dads condition and the cars condition but she wouldn't have any of it. My mom and brother then pushed the car with my dad in it away from her business because they weren't allowed to wait for a tow truck/help. Not only did she cuss them out as my mom states "in every word imaginable that I've never even heard of" but she also decided to call the cops? And for what? We paid two dollars and within 5 minutes we were run off even though I was on the other side of the road. This is illegal. Not sure what the woman will do with the video. DO.NOT.STOP. These folk are scary! Everything you will read is true, accurate and scary. As soon as we pulled in, these folk LITERALLY came running from a tepee towards our car. First the crazed wild eyed woman waving her arms wildly screaming repeatedly towards us "In or out". Now, mind you, I had just pulled in and was assessing the parking and hadn't even STOPPED rolling! When I realized what was happening, I stopped where I was and stared at her a bit stunned. Within a few seconds, a male came out carrying a phone as if making a video, and was screaming (Yes. SCREAMING for I was more than 130 feet or 40 meters from them) "Get the hell out". I cannot emphasize enough that all this happened BEFORE I had even stopped. The female was converging upon the car and the male positioned himself on a high spot with the phone as if videoing and continued to shout. "Get the hell out". I promptly turned around and left. But as soon as we got down, this lady came up to us and start asking Lot of questions and my 8 year old step son pick up small pebble and threw it out in the pond and that lady start yelling at my 8 year old step son. I told her" I'm sorry, he's 8" but she's still grumbling about it and her husband come out from nowhere and keep saying " no one threw rocks in the pond, why you do that"?! We stopped for souvenirs & to look around. A woman came out to the car with her hands in her pockets, sort of belligerent, and announced "There's a two dollar entry fee ... Which will apply to what you buy." Per person. This includes the portajohn behind the teepee thing. We decided to leave, and she managed to be nasty about this, too. After passing this place many times going thru Missouri, my daughter and her husband decided to stop to see what they had to offer. My daughter is very proud of her Native American heritage. They had the WORST experience and did not even get to go in! My son in law got out of the car to see if they were open and spoke to a lady about going in. My daughter got out of the car, first stopping to give her dog a potty break (pee only!) then was going to put the dog back in the car (Yes with A/C!!) ANYWAY.....the lady ran up to her yelling and screaming that : "she couldn't let her dog go to the bathroom there, they have people come there from all over the world! This isnt a dog park, we know your kind you need to get out of here!! " THEN....a man in a truck came flying up flailing his arms and screaming too! They were so shocked they couldn't even get in their car fast enough! You would think that was the end, as they were trying leave as fast as possible, and then when the car tires flung gravel the man was saying "Oh we'll have none of that! And he started blocking their car so whichever direction they tried to go he was in the way! It appears this place is run by a group of crazies and if I were you, this would be a tourist trap to stay far far away from! P.S. These people are truly psychotic. I was driving Route 66 and passed by here. I slowed down to look, SLOWED DOWN DID NOT STOP, and decided not to because I had done research. Proceeded about a mile down the road and noticed a grey pickup really close behind me with a woman flailing her arms out of the window. Being from out of town and not knowing exactly where I was, I decided to turn around at the next road and get on the interstate to the next destination. She blocked the entire road and got out and started calling me all kinds of names and kicked the front end of my truck. A man then came running around the corner and began filming my vehicle, me, inside it, and my license plate. I was already on the phone wth police. Thank goodness they were fast. Local police got them to leave and informed me they have all kinds of issues with these people and tourists. I explained I didn't even stop and was told that probably made them mad. I truly hope a tornado comes through soon. read more

We were doing Route 66, when we noticed the tee-pees, and decided to have a look. After exiting our car, and as I was about to snap a photo, a woman comes out and yells that there is a $2 entrance fee, which could be used toward merchandise in her store. She then went on yelling "Photo's don't pay the bills!" I was not about to pay $2 just to go into her store, particularly after the rude greeting, so we declined, and started back to our car. The woman continued to rant, saying "Thank You for Wasting My Time!!", and that she knew our type and that we wouldn't have purchased anything anyway! For the record, we made several purchase along 66, before and after this woman's place. As we were leaving a man came out with a camera pointed at us. I honestly don't see how someone like this stays in business!! Save yourself the frustration, stay away from Indian Harvest, this is unquestionably the WORST stop along Route 66! read more

The owner verbally assaulted me in front of my 6 year-old, threatened us, and chased us off of the property while screaming obscenities at us. My son sprained his ankle trying to get back into the car so fast. He was terrified. All because she told me I wasted her time while I was putting my son's shoes on and helping him tie them in my car. I repeat, in my car! Then when she told me there was a $2 fee to get in, I politely and sincerely apologized, since I had no cash, and said we would just have to leave. (Had she been even remotely sane, I probably would've brought her stupid $2 back with me on the way home and paid the fee, though it is kind of ridiculous to pay a fee to enter a store. Call it a parking fee...that I could wrap my head around.) Anyway, that's when she lost what few marbles she had. She said she knew I wouldn't buy anything anyway (which, by the way is my right, if I choose not to buy...I don't have to buy anything!), even though I had every intention of doing so. She claimed people use her site as a rest stop, thought there are clearly marked signs for a rest stop exactly 8mi south of her location...one with no crazy people, by the way. She said she knew my kind, just wanting a free meal (I didn't even realize they sell (give away?) food, and still don't know, as I didn't get more than a few inches from my car). She called me expletives, derogatory names, insulted my body and my intelligence, then threatened to call the police on me if I didn't get off of her property. Needless to say she's lost my business, which the next souvenir shop was more than happy to accept...and I didn't even have to pay to get in. Hallelujah! She is a lunatic, and I truly feared for my son's and my safety. Do not go near them. They've done worse than what I got to others, so in a way I feel lucky to just be icing down a crying 6 year-old's ankle in the middle of the night, since the pain is keeping him awake. I signed up for yelp and tripadvisor specifically to comment on this horrible place and warn anyone else to stay as far away as is humanly possible. read more
