Always amazing to have Indian food in a different place. I had been really wanting Indian food since the move from SA, and being away gave me the opportunity to get some. Madrid is a cosmopolitan city, and it comes as no surprise that there are plenty of types of restaurants. My Yelp! community led me to this place. We got here, were seated and served papadums with three chutneys...tamarind, mint, and sweet chili. I ordered a chai masala tea. It was one of the more smaller cups for tea that I have had before, but it was plenty. We ordered a chicken curry, a vegetable curry, a basmati rice bowl, and a serving of garlic naan. We tried the tandoori mix appetizer which was a blend of chicken and lamb pieces grilled or baked in a tandoori oven over sauteed onions. It was a good protein starter The chicken Tikka masala came in huge chicken chunks. The sauce was a good balance of flavor and spice. The medium wasn't too bad of a spice level and allowed us to enjoy the other spices. The palak paneer was good too. The spinach was fresh, the cheese was a good blend of taste and texture. The curry in the spinach blend was also delicious Finally, and it was a nice touch the staff there gifted us some angi Lassi shots. It was very good food and an amazing atmosphere. Food here is excellent. Started with the pander samosa. Amazing with the little complimentary chutneys. Butter chicken with basmati for my main. They can change the spice by request. While fine by Spanish standards, I've found that Indian restaurants in Spain are truly middling in dishes that, in other countries, are considered standard fare. For example, their Butter Chicken was truly disappointing, and the base of their naan seemed to be Spanish bread for some reason (although it was well seasoned). The Chana Masala was more impressive, and a very well made dish. They charge for rice separately, as is unfortunately the custom on this side of the pond. Their beer selection was solid, service was kind and attentive, and the ambiance was cute (although the music was a bit loud and they could afford to keep the AC cooler). I'm sure, if ordering wisely, you could find a nice meal here. But ordering wisely is trickier than it should be! read more

The best Indian food I had IN MY LIFE! When we came here, they had all of the chutneys ready and even served the papadam before we had a chance to sit down. We ordered the chicken tikka, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, veggie samosas, dal, and a lamb vindaloo. They literally brought our water refills about 4-5 times without us even asking for more water. They have excellent food and amazing service. When the food came out, the naan was the best garlic naan i have ever had and you could smell the butter from a mile away. I was longed for some rice and felt a little down, looking for some curd rice, but no, they did not have it. They welcomed with pappad as a compliment, the ambiance is very good and it was well crowded. As I was determined to get my curd rice, is there salt lassi is spiced, they told yes. So I ordered plain rice and salt lassi, which is basically spiced yogurt that is a little liquid. Now I mixed both voila. I got my curd rice. The next day, I went for the same but disappointed as I got cold rice, but did not bother as I was very hungry. The manager told me that if l had conveyed, it would have replaced it for me. Good service, but they don't customize. Unfortunately, due to my uset stomach, I am unable to try other dishes, but if the opportunity provides, I will certainly visit. read more

Absolutely some of the best Indian cuisine I've eaten. My son brought me here when visiting in Madrid and it was so delicious we went there twice before I went back to the states. Service was exceptional and food arrived promptly, the samosa were the best I've ever eaten! We got the butter chicken both time we went, it's that good. Indian Aroma nailed it for great friendly service, nice atmosphere and delicious food. We check out at least one Indian restaurant every time we travel, and this one is truly excellent. It was rated highly on both The Fork and TripAdvisor so it's the place we decided to check out. We are vegetarians so cannot speak to the meat dishes, but the vegetable pakoras, tadka dal and aloo ghobi were excellent. Having just flown in from LAX just a few hours earlier, I wasn't very hungry but knew I needed to eat something before the jet lag hit. This place hit the spot! Since it was just me, I figured a biriyani would be a good option - rice, veggies and spices! The biriyani was cooked perfectly. The veggies were fresh and included broccoli, carrots, potato and cauliflower. It was so good that I ended up finishing the entire bowl...even though I didn't need to eat that much. 4.5 stars, but I like to round up :) After days of meat and cheese-heavy Spanish cuisine, my family and I were relieved to find this great Indian restaurant. We ordered malai kofta, garlic naan, a salad, and a spicy mutton dish that I forget the name of, but was recommended by the waiter. Overall the malai kofta had a great curry that was creamy and spiced correctly. The koftas were decent, with high-quality paneer and potatoes, and much better than some of the indian establishments I've visited in America. The garlic naan was a little flat, instead of the fluffy bread I'm used to, but it tasted really good. The salad was large and had all of the vegetables I had been desperately craving throughout my stay in Madrid: cucumbers, tomatoes, and much more. I didn't try the mutton, unfortunately, but my father said it was quite tasty as well. Honestly, if this was an Indian restaurant in the US, the food would garner four stars. But I was impressed with the service and overall dining experience, especially when compared to the slow, inefficient service experienced at most Spanish restaurants. At this restaurant, the waiter took our orders promptly and the food came in a timely manner. There was also complimentary papad at the beginning and small mango lassis at the end. For a trip where my family was charged another euro for requesting extra syrup at another establishment, this was a refreshing and delightful surprise. Overall, the entire experience could be described as refreshing. Despite the rain storm that had occurred during our meal, our spirits were high as we left the restaurant. We ate at 8:15 or so on a weekday night, and there was no wait for a table of four. The restaurant seemed pretty empty, but was moderately busy when we left. One odd thing was that the naans are actually cheaper than the rice. As someone who is used to complimentary rice along with the curry at Indian restaurants, this was quite surprising. This is not only the best Indian food in Madrid, it's easily the best Indian food I've ever had. I'm not kidding, this place ruined Indian food for me in the best way possible-- my favorite local places at home in Burbank, California pale in comparison. I had the chicken tikka masala, which was gorgeously tender and the sauce was to die for! The green chutney was so good, when I ran out of naan to dip it in, I literally just drank it straight from the ramekin. Found this place while wandering Madrid's streets. We live in SF with lots of good Indian food and tried our favorite here: Butter Chicken. It was excellent; savory with a longer-grained rice than we see in the states (and not as much saffron in it, though it was still good). The garlic naan was excellent: a bit thinner than we're used to but a nice combination of sort of crispy on the outside while still warm and chewy inside. If you like Indian food, this place offers good value. Service was good (there were a LOT of waiters around). We would have gone back if we'd known about this place in advance but we ran out of vacation! read more
