Worth it for not having to drive around looking for a rare street parking spot. We were seated right away and our server was a very friendly and funny gentleman. The food came out quickly and they were all delicious. So much flavors packed into each dish. The shrimp vindaloo had plump big shrimps. The chicken tikka marsala was buttery and smooth. The lamp chops dish had three thick lamb chops with juicy pink centers. We will be back when we're in the area again!

We walked right in with four people and immediately found prime real estate. Everyone knows that having four diners in a party allows for optimized sharing, along as everyone is down to clown. So we all picked a dish that spoke to us at a personal level. That's when we were floored by the level of service that Maharaja has to offer. Once our designated spokesperson relayed the dishes to the waitress, she paused and then made a counter offer... What if we could give you all of these and more at a discount? The gang was intrigued. We had inadvertently ordered some sort of party platter but in an a la carte fashion. The waitress took money out of her pocket to give us more food. A truly unparalleled opportunity to do right by the customer. Major applause to you (I hope this doesn't get you fired, and instead leads to increased business). These are the moments that you do not forget about as an enthusiast and avid promoter of the Seattle restaurant scene. I was blown away by the food as well. My experience with tandoori chicken in the past was that it can be dry and not pack the seasoning punch that you would expect from such a vibrant color. But this was quite the opposite, tender and juicy chicken that was exploding with flavor. The curries were also rich and deep in taste, with much more chicken than you get at many other establishments these days. I will 100% be back when I'm in West Seattle, and I would implore others to do so as well.

The chai was delicious and they brought out some sugar to sweeten it as well liked. They also asked us our spice level preference from 1-5. I am a little sensitive to spice so I got 1 and I didn't taste any spice, which is great for picky eaters. The restaurant is very spacious and incredibly clean, fancy, and well lit. Our server, Sneha, was such a lovely woman. They truly did a great job making you feel welcome, and for those new to Indian food, they help you navigate the menu (if needed). I will say one of best Dal Makhni I had in states. Butter Naan was fresh and crisp . Always look for thickness of Naan . Less thick is more authentic . Malai soya chaap is my another favorite. Veg cutlet was flavorful. Ambience was too good . Good choice of interior. Washrooms were neat and clean Service was top notch . In fact the restaurant manager Akshay ( if I am correct) came to check about food quality and feedback. Manager is very knowledgeable . He told us how seriously they take the feedback. Definitely must visit Also it's close to lake Washington.

I kept thinking about the explosion of flavors as this is the first time I tried pani dahi, little puff balls filled with masala potato in a flavorful yogurt based sauce with plenty of delicious toppings. I enjoyed their goat and lamb biryanis with parathas, the masala burgers, kesar mango ice cream smoothie. What makes Urban Tapri special is the passion and hard work behind the food. I said hello to the chef, very kind man. The owner is also very kind. This family-run restaurant brings the kind of authentic Indian flavors that you often have to travel to India to experience. Outside is humble looking but the food is excellent, the prices reasonable, and it is truly a special place in our community. A true tapri, I would say. Highly recommended.

If there was any communicating to be done, she would call from India TO the kitchen that was like 3 feet back to ask the chef (ie for boxes etc). It was certainly an experience. Food wise- we got the samosa (5/5), the garlic cheese maggi (husband had it but was not really impressed plus it came out in a plastic box which he wasn't happy about), I got the "masala maggi" which also came out in plastic and honestly didn't taste much like maggi and didn't taste that good overall, and I got the Chole batura which actually was really good (5/5). Would recommend the place if you're in the SeaTac area but probably wouldn't come out to eat here if I'm not in the vicinity.

Pakoras are so dry and lack flavor. The chutneys that came with them are not bad but not what I expect when I'm getting chutney from an Indian restaurant. Malai Kofta was an unusual color and has kind of chicken noodle soup kind of flavor to it? It's not giving me the flavors I know and love from this dish. The garlic naan is so tough and almost flat bread like leaving a greasy film in my mouth with each bite. Kheer tastes nice but is not quite the flavor and texture you would expect from this dish. Mango Lassi was nice, but no additional notes because it's not something I'm used to ordering. I was planning on portioning this out for dinner tonight and lunch at work tomorrow but just after tasting each dish I really don't want to eat more.
