I had previously hired someone to remove several trees on my property but the job was too intensive for his skill level. I then hired Independent Tree Service to haul away the debris that that previous contractor left and to correct and finish the tree removal and trimming job. Independent Tree Service came to the rescue! They removed six large golden raintrees, I also had them trim my avocado, camphor, and oak trees. Each of those trees are over 40+ feet tall. Independent Tree Service is affordable, fast, friendly, and left my property without any debris or damag read more

Independent Tree Service, Inc. was fantastic from start to finish. The entire staff was prompt in coming out to provide a quote and offered several clear options--from trimming to full tree removal--so we could choose what fit our needs best. Every team member we interacted with was polite, professional, and incredibly responsive to our questions. On the day of the job, the crew arrived right on time and did a phenomenal job. Their work was efficient, thorough, and exceeded our expectations. I'm confident our neighbors will be just as impressed as we are. A special shout-out to Damien, who led our project. He was amazing--prompt, detail-oriented, and clearly dedicated to doing the job right. From beginning to end, the experience was smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend Independent Tree Service, Inc. for anyone needing quality, reliable tree care! The Andersons read more

They charge $50 just to come and do an estimate. No other tree company does this. Why would I pay them just to hear what they can do?

This company charged me $50 up front for them to come out to assess the health of one of our trees and provide me with an estimate. Well that was over 2 weeks ago. They took my money but never followed through with the estimate. I called them after a week and a half to see why I hadn't been contacted. The person that answered the phone said she would get the arborist to send it but once again no further response from them. Why would anyone use this company when they can't even provide an estimate??? read more

The only tree service we have used and will continue to do so. Jordan is super knowledgeable and takes pride in his/the company's work. His team is professional, reliable, thorough, and answers questions you may have. Even the "clean-up" crew did a great job of removing the debris. The only way you'd have known that work was done, is that the "work was done"! They left the jobsite just the way they found it, but improved, with the excellent work performed. I highly recommend this company and already have done so. Great job!! read more

We had a dying water oak in our front yard that could no longer be saved. We called Jerry with Independent because they did a great job of trimming trees on our property before. Once again, Jerry quoted us a great price and we scheduled the removal. On the day scheduled, Curtis and his crew arrived right on time and started the work. They were very polite, professional and accommodating. The tree was removed with really no damage to the surrounding vegetation, lights and irrigation. It was a quality job. We are very satisfied and will continue to use them again in the future. read more

We scheduled nearly a month out, and they remembered the date, arrived on time, and I didn't have to do anything. They brought all the equipment needed, efficiently and safely took down a super hazardous tree. They even went above and beyond what I originally asked and trimmed a few other trees in my yard. Austin also cut an old chain that was on our oak tree with his bolt cutters (not even part of our contract). They left my yard exactly the way they found it. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for tree services. These guys are TRUE professionals. Hard to find in the business with all the little mom and pop shops that don't know what they're doing. read more

I called to request a quote to trim two oak trees. The receptionist said that they were too busy and that they weren't taking any new clients. I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

Every aspect of our experience with them was professional, experienced, and knowledgable. They had the right equipment. The crews were friendly, focused and they wasted no time. We had an issue with the trees in our yard and Marti was quick to diagnose the issue and suggest a solution

Nathan and Drew did a wonderful job, trimming two very large trees as well as going above and beyond by removing thick dead branches that were caught in the remaining canopy. They worked quickly and made sure that everything was just as I wanted it done. Thank you, Independent Tree Service! read more

We have used Independent Tree Service for a number of years. Jordan's initial visit to assess our needs is critical in getting our 25 oak trees exactly the right trim and care. Christy, in the office, efficiently scheduled the service. James and his gang were a wonder to watch, operating a bucket truck with efficiency and care for our other plants. Our Reclinata Palm clusters were masterfully trimmed to their perfect open shapes. The crew was polite and our yard was cleaned up of all debris. We thank Independent Tree Service for a job well done, once again! read more

These guys are top top notch! Had them trim 5 oak trees that needed real bad trimming and they were out the 7 hours making sure they were perfect! Trust us, trees cost a lot when it's time to trim, but these guys worked with me on the price and were lower than competitors. The quality far exceeds the value (which is still good)! I would hire them again in a heartbeat! read more

I had a huge tree in my backyard that needed to be removed. It would have been a hard job for anyone, but Independent did an excellent job. Jordan, who came to give me an estimate, was very patient and detailed in explaining it all to me. The crew was likewise very professional and punctual and went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend Independent for any tree-work you may need! read more

Been dealing with these folks several years, and they are the best. I had a giant oak fall down in my yard for no good reason, and Jerry came out immediately. He looked at the situation, told me the rest had to come down, NOW. In the morning there was a whole crew and a bucket truck at my house. Jerry said some incompetent tree folks had trimmed that oak, causing way too much weight at the top, so eventually the tree split and fell over. Lesson learned about letting a non certified arborist trim my trees. Great service from real professionals. Theres a huge difference. read more

They want $50 to provide an estimate... It doesn't seem logical to pay someone before you even see what they have to say about the project.

Well pleased with the crew, work and clean up. Reasonable quote and assessment good choice if you've got a challenge or significant tree work read more

This was the third time I have used ITS and I never been disappointed. The prices are reasonable. The work crews are mannerly and professional and they clean up afterwards. If you are looking for a company to take care of your tree needs, look no further. Special kudos for Jordan. read more

Jordan is a well respected arborist. He's honest. No hard sell. And his guys work hard. They're considerate, neat professional and kind. One worker even made sure a tree frog got to safety when it came down with the frond of a palm tree. read more

What a wonderful company to work with! Professional, kind, punctual and explained everything they were going to do. We had a lot of work done and they were in, out and cleaned up in a few short hours. They treated us like family and I will use them for all of our tree services in the future. read more

I was looking to have 2 trees removed and several others trimmed. Got several other quotes before Independent Tree Service to come out. Jordan came out and is Extremely friendly and pointed out a few things to save me money on my jobs. A few weeks later they came out on time and removed my trees after a walk around so everyone knew what was supposed to happen. The workers were great and did an amazing job. Most of all they did a Great job cleaning up after and raked the yard to clean up everything. Was very happy with the results and the price! Would refer them to anyone I know and will be sure to use them in the future. read more

I highly recommend Independent Tree Service! We came to them with a major project of removing 2 large trees after finding they were causing damage to our property, and Jordan assisted us from our initial inquiry through to completion of the project. He was extremely helpful, friendly and courteous (to us and our neighbors as well), and was always quick to respond when we had questions. He and the entire crew were an absolute pleasure to work with, and always made certain we were happy with the process every step of the way. Our crew foreman during the job was Chris Kidd, who was also fantastic. The job ended up taking 3 days, and both Chris and Jordan always made certain to keep us updated on their progress each day. The cleanup following the removal was also absolutely perfect. This company absolutely went above and beyond to complete this huge project incredibly well, making us feel completely safe and reassured, and we could not have been happier. We found their price to be quite fair, and can assure you that they take pride in what they do. It was really important to us to find a company who made us feel that our property was in the best and safest hands, and this company was exactly that and more. A major thank you to Independent Tree Service for excellent work!! read more

From the very beginning Independent was great Jordan Upcavage came out to give us the appraisal for the job we needed to have completed he was very professional and very knowledgeable about what needed to be done, the trees in the yard and how to trim the trees and keep them healthy.  He gave us a quote of 1800.00 for everything we needed done which was almost half of what the other two companies I had quotes from had given me.  I loved the customer service I had gotten from the begging.  The day the services where to be done we couldn't be their at the begging but we where told from the begging that we did not need to be there for them to do the job I just like to be around when I am having stuff being done around my home.  The team that was sent worked hard and got everything completed fairly quickly.  Once they had completed the job they walked me around the house showing what was done and I was very impressed our years looks so much better with what they cut down.  They cleaned up everything really well they raked the leaves up made sure all the limbs had been picked up including the small ones they also used a blower to blow all the side walks off and the room our years looked better after they left.  I have nothing but good to say about Independent Tree service.  I will defiantly recommend them to anyone looking for a company who does tree work. read more

Awesome hands down... or thumbs up! On time, professional and helpful. I have worked with them myself and 2 other times at friends houses and service has been great all 3x! Would recommend and use again! read more

Our big magnolia tree had been planted very close to the house and was in danger of ultimately damaging the house and our water lines with its roots. Jordan gave us an estimate for removal - he was very knowledgeable and very professional. Austin and his crew showed up and explained how they would cut the tree. They performed the work quickly and efficiently by removing limbs, climbing up the tree and carefully cutting piece by piece so as not to damage the house. They were done in no time and cleaned up all debris beautifully. Calvin came two days later to grind the stump - he examined the surrounding area with great care before grinding, moving our irrigation lines out of the way so as not to damage them. He was done in no time too and also did a wonderful job of cleaning up! Everyone was an expert at their jobs, hard-working, polite and extremely professional in every way. They did an exceptional job and the cost was reasonable. They are the best! I would definitely use them again. read more

Independent Tree Service was hired by the RV resort I live in. On July 25th, 2014, 4 of their employees did a dangerous whirlwind tour of the park. I was inside my new Airstream Trailer while they trimmed some trees above my trailer. 7' branches were being tossed down from the guy in the bucket truck. Two of these branches hit and damaged the aluminum on my Airstream. I came outside once the guy had quit throwing branches and saw the damage. At first, the bucket guy took responsibility of the damage and offered to call his boss, Jordan Upcavage, then all of them left the park. I called our maintenance manager who in turn called Mr. Upcavage. Mr. Upcavage told the park maintenance manager to have my insurance company contact his insurance company for repairs. I got an estimate from my insurance company, Nationwide Insurance, for $1300.00. I heard nothing from Independent Tree service for about a week. Yesterday my insurance investigator called to tell me she had contacted Mr. Upcavage. Mr. Upcavage refused to accept responsibility for any of the damage. He told her that his employees all said the damage was already there, even though they had previously taken responsibility for the damage. (I have before and after photos). He also said that he trusted his employees and denied ever telling the maintenance manager to have the insurance companies get together. This guy and his employees are nothing more than common thieves and liars. Buyer beware of this company. I'm sure I am not their first victim. read more
