I moved to Charlotte /Matthews area about 5 months ago and this veterinary clinic has saved my life! It took me about two other vet appts elsewhere to realize this was going to be "My VET" (lol). Dr.Michelle & Dr. Bart are the BEST! They are both very Thorough and knowledgeable when it comes to diagnosing, treating, and taking care of your animals. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming, and super gentle while delivering EXCELLENT customer service - they make it look easy :). You can feel the good energy soon as you walk into the doors... everyone has a pleasant face and looks happy to be there. That's another must you need when going to your vet. I hate to see people working with bad attitudes while trying to help me. We all know how much anxiety & stress comes over us when our fur-children need care outside of our control... this clinic takes that worry away. While I could rant all day - I will simply end it with saying take your fur-babies to this vet you won't leave disappointed. Also, if you ever meet some of their special techs give them a big thank you! They go above and beyond with keeping you in the loop and doing follow-up calls to check on your baby by their "name" and not just "your pet". My husband found this veterinary clinic about a year ago when we first got our pups, and he stated he liked their service. It's been about a year, and it was time for a follow-up, so this time, I came and brought my Chihuahua for his yearly follow-up. This location is super close to our home. The appointment was set for 8:30 am and walked in around 8:20 and was immediately brought to an exam room. The receptionist was super nice and welcoming. This is located in a business park so there are plenty of parking spaces to choose from. The inside was super clean and modernly decorated. They had plenty of treats located conviently around the office and exam rooms. The Dr. I believe it was Dr. Benjamin, and she was super nice and knowledgeable. She explained exactly what my dog needed and what she recommended. I loved that before I agreed to any treatment, medicines, etc., they offered to let me know exactly how much everything was going to cost before I accepted. They help you out, and if for some reason you can not get everything done right away, she let's you know what's more important now and what can wait. PLEASE BEWARE!!!!! I will start by saying it is too bad I have to give one star to this vet clinic, because under our circumstances they deserve a big "0". Please read on as a caution for your beloved fur babies protection. On 4-19-2023 I took my precious 17 month old French bulldog to this clinic for surgery. Dr. Bart Bryan performed his surgery. "Oliver" had a soft palate resection, rhinoplasty (nares opened) and a neuter. He also received a 3 year rabies vaccination. I picked my baby up around 4:30pm that afternoon, post surgery, and thought all was well. He lived only 6 DAYS thereafter. He was found unresponsive and not breathing in his crate the morning of 4-25-23. We cannot fathom why Oliver passed so unexpectedly. Dr. Bryan, who was not technically in the office on 4-25-23, waited to call us until the following day on 4-26-23 offering only his condolences. First off, this vet should have made time to pick up the phone on his day off and call us right away. His office staff surely told him what had happened. His delay in contacting us was extremely unprofessional because we wanted answers. We were beyond horrified to find our precious Oliver gone and absolutely heartbroken as you can imagine. So when we finally spoke with Dr. Bryan on 4-26-23 he was surprised we lost Oliver because we was doing so well. He got thru the surgery fine and post surgery (6 days) he did great too. I was setting my alarm so I wouldn't miss giving him his meds every 12hrs. They had Oliver on 4 meds post. We trusted this vet to perform surgery on our baby. We also know the risks but he didn't show any signs. We were charged for Oliver's office exam prior to surgery $280.60. Gladly paid it. We were charged $1124.79 for Oliver's surgery. Gladly paid it. Unfortunately we have no idea why we lost our little boy so suddenly but we feel strongly that he would be with us today had we not taken him in for surgery here. He was not an emergency patient at the time he had all this done and makes absolutely no sense. So we paid $1405.39 in total and we were NOT offered any restitution, even the office visit exam prior. If this was my practice, I would completely offer something to the grieving family because this vet was the last one to touch our little guy and we can't help but think his procedure somehow led to his death. So, I'm putting this out there for justice for our sweet Oliver. We are huge animal lovers and this has left us broken. NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH ANY VET I'VE USED IN PAST SURGERIES AND I'VE HAD 3 FRENCH BULLDOGS AND 2 CHOW CHOWS SO I KNOW THE RISKS WITH PUSHED IN FACE BABIES. Do your research. I thought we had. Oliver is the white baby in the pics. His half brother is Walter. Needless to say, Walter is beyond sad, depressed and lost without his best friend....they were bonded and ALWAYS together. read more

We recently had to put our old fella down and the staff was extremely caring in the whole process. They even sent us a sympathy card with hand-written notes from the whole staff. I am so appreciative of the amazing care my dog has received both from the vet and from the groomer affiliated with IVC! My dog has anxiety related reactivity and can be aggressive towards strangers. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I've been going to them for a year, and they just never seem to have their shit together. I've been trying to get my dogs medication for the past two weeks and I've spoken to probably six different people, and every single person gave me a different response. Not to mention a few of them were incredibly rude and I was even hung up on. They prescribed my dog the incorrect medication (he is allergic to the medication they prescribed) and sent it to the incorrect address, then they said they would refill the script and put it in my cart, which never happened so I waited days for that. Then they said they would email me a script which alsoooo never happened and then they even changed my address in my chewy app without my authorization ( which is time stamped and proven cause they were the only Vet that had that address and it was time stamped a few minutes prior to the Vet calling me saying that she updated my account. RIDICULOUS ) so the medication went to the wrong location AGAIN. And when I ask them about all of this, their response is always the same "gosh that is so funny I don't know why that happened or how". And then they even lied to me, saying chewy changed their procedure and protocol and I called Chewy and they said that was not the case. So my 15-year-old senior half paralyzed dog has been in pain for over two weeks because this place can't get their shit together and give me the correct medication not once not twice but three times messing it up. I called them, obviously upset and told them that they need to get this figured out. They took NO ACCOUNTABILITY AT ALL FOR THEIR SCREW UPS. And "terminated" me as a client LOL. Which is some really ridiculous, gaslighting narcissistic bullshit to terminate me as a client when YOU FUCKED UP and I'm trying to advocate for my senior dog who you now have kept in pain for two weeks because you can't even fill out a script correctly. But you're a doctor? Let me ask if you if you messed up a dogs medication which I was charged for and then you messed it up two other times and then you changed my address to an incorrect address and forgot to send me a script that you said two weeks ago you would email me and on and on the list goes of things you messed up how would you like me to react? Would you like me to send you a bouquet of flowers and say A+ for effort? And this is just ONE example. There have been many things they screwed up over the past year. (Like telling me my dog might have cancer without even running tests yet. An absolute unnecessary and premature scare.) I will say there is one very nice vet tech (although she prescribed the incorrect meds lol) and the Vets dont rush you when you are in your appointment which is nice and they are always on time. But if you go here make sure that you triple check every single thing they do say or write down. And don't in any way, shape or form express that you're upset that they have completely screwed up your dogs medication three times. This place should take accountability for their screw ups. Screwing up medication? My address? Scripts? No thanks. You're Fired. read more

This is my home away from home, my senior pooches spend a lot of time in this Vet office. The staff is awesome, and the Doctors are so informative. They don't make you feel guilty for the things you cant afford but find other alternatives for your budget. What I love most is my Animals do not feel traumatized afterward. I also am so appreciative of the hours they have, i am able to drop my babies off in the morning and pick them up after work. When I had to put one of my babies down the experience was as beautiful as it could be for such a hard thing to do. I cant say enough about IVC I am so grateful. I loved bringing my dog to IVC and had no complaints regarding his care when he was alive. After he passed, I wasn't notified they had a limit to how long they would keep his ashes and paw print (covid threw things for a loop). They threw his ashes in the trash. I am heartbroken that they didn't tell me there was a limit or call me to let me know they were going to have to get rid of his ashes. People who care about your pets don't throw them in the trash. We recently moved to a different part of Charlotte but we continue to drive back to IVC because I can't imagine taking my dog and cat anywhere else. We've worked with them through the years for senior canine care and end of life care to puppy care and even hereditary illness with one of our puppies. I worked with two other well known specialized vet practices over the years in Charlotte and hands down IVC has the most caring staff, the most compassionate and modern veterinary care, the best line of communication, and the fairest prices on service. This last piece is equally important to us as it allowed us to make the best decisions for our pets while affording the best care we could provide. Very over priced and rude. $300+ for an indoor cat. Can get rabies shot from Animal control for free. Here gave all shots and pill for an out door cat. When questioned, Tech says indoor cats more susceptible than out door cats. Not likely. read more
