I've had more ups than downs at this school, but my son excelled attending here and that's why I rated this school 5 stars. A few things that I thought was the downside of this school is that there's not too many students who get involved with the academic programs versus the athletic programs. I think sports are important; however, I'm shocked that there wasn't more kids volunteering to get involved in Math Field, Battle of the Books and other academic activities. My son only had a bad experience with one teacher his whole time attending here and part of the problem was that he was unorganized, but when we reached out to Ms. Zaragoza (GATE language arts) she had a bad attitude. Rather than coming up with a plan, she was argumentative and we had to involve the principal. The situation was only resolved because the principal stepped in. If we did not reach out to someone above her she would have continued to act unprofessional. I believe that if you become a teacher then you should do it because you love kids, because if you don't then you'll be acting like Ms. Zaragoza and that's a shame. All in all, I think Tevis Jr High is a great school. They have a really nice staff. My son absolutely loved so many of his teachers. This school praises the kids for doing great by rewarding them and they do a lot of school spirit activities. They have a really nice band program and the kids get to march at Disneyland which is a plus for the kids.

This school is highly NOT recommended…read more The vice principal Scott Elliott is too comfortable with the students, he pushed one of the students on purpose with force and you could tell. Honestly, that student could have got him in trouble for it too. When the vice principal, Scott Elliott, and principal, Patrick Spears, are together, they like to walk up to students and talk about them in front of the students. This has happened to my friend before, which was also in front of me. The office ladies are very rude. They talk with an additude and will say they're busy when they aren't. When they're so-called 'busy', they're talking to the other office ladies. Students are constantly getting in trouble for knocking too many times on the window because of how long the office ladies take to respond. In general, the office ladies are annoying. I can say parents think so as well, because other students say so. So do my parents. The teachers there are really crappy, except for a few and when I say a few, I mean at least one. The P.E. teacher, Mr. Jones, is racist. He is a white unfit old man, he cusses at the students and says the 'n' word. Mrs. Postiff will happily get you in trouble because she will call security, which is also her husband, Mr. Postiff, even if it's over something small. Ms. Bennet, old white math teacher, really loud and annoying, other students and teachers can say the same. You can hear her yelling from classrooms nearby and next to hers. Mr. Postiff, security, will get you in trouble for anything and everything. He once got me in trouble for a small, hand sized mirror and took it away. It really didn't cause any trouble or distraction, and the teacher was okay with my mirror. Another example of getting in trouble for anything and everything is just having anything out in general. If you have a paper out, security will go to question you or watch from afar. Overall, I'm happy I graduated and got out of there. It really sucked and I'm glad I don't have to spend another day at that horrid school. From my experience, I highly do NOT recommended going to this middle school.

This was around 445 pm. Students are made to stay on campus with no staff around and a wide open campus? But today the student store opened. I only had a $5 bill and so I gave it to him. They wouldn't accept it unless he got 5 items. So you charge $1 to buy stuff but can't break a $5 so he can get a water and rice crispy treat??? That's wrong. What if that's all he was able to spend for the week? What is the policy against taking a $5 bill? Obviously we arent rich and most of the time live paycheck to paycheck. Just let him buy a damn water next time.

Now, just days before school starts, I am being told he can't go because of the district boundaries. This is completely unfair and unprofessional. The staff clearly do not know how to do their jobs or communicate important information in a timely manner. Parents should not be put through this kind of last-minute chaos, especially when it affects our children's education. Very unprofessional and disorganized.

I've gotten into four fights in that school and they didn't do anything but suspend me for two days. They have in school suspension now and they make you go for a whole week. Teachers are unpaid. The teachers are awful. Their classrooms are nasty. Kids steal stuff from there. I lost one of my sweaters, and I never found it. Also, AirPods and phones from my friends were stolen. There is drama going between sixth and eighth graders. They have favorites and if they see that you don't look good or if you don't look like you have money, they will assume things of you for example there was this time where kids were smoking in a classroom. Some kid went to tell on the girls who were smoking. They got me and my friend into the office. They searched me. They didn't find anything. They took everything out of my backpack. They made me like to jumping jacks take off my shoes and they patted me down. I didn't have anything. And they took everything out of my backpack I was on my lady days. They took my personal stuff out that I needed and touch them. and kept some stuff they need to get that school fixed because the water is nasty. It's full of dirt. They're next to cows the school smells.
