Like any great consignment or vintage shop, if you do a little digging, you are going to find a few…read moregems. The Vested Interest is probably one of the most organized shops I've visited, so the digging isn't too intense and the gems are really not too hard to find. Need a sweater? Well, go to the sweater section. Shoes? All in one place. Blazers, coats, outerwear? All separated so even sifting between different kinds of jackets isn't tough. You get the point. AND on top of all of that, it is very well sorted between sizes. My mom comes here often and has gotten a few great pieces for herself and as gifts over the years. And on my last trip I walked away with two beautiful coats! One was Jones New York and still had the original tags for $400.... I walked out with it for $80. The woman working there when I stopped in was super helpful, gave me some opinions when I asked for them and was very kind. When I didn't ask for any help, she just let me look around and shop without feeling rushed. Excited to pop back in every once and awhile! We were out for my husband's birthday on 10/26/23. We saw this shop and stopped in to take a look…read more They really didn't' have anything that interested us, so as we were about to leave, my husband asked the Lady if she had any coins. She said that she did and went to get a tin from behind the counter. The whole time she kept saying that she didn't really know that much about coins but proceeded to pull out some of the larger coins for us to view. My husband chose two of the $1.00 coins she showed him and some small change. After looking them up on her phone, she told us $40.00 for the 1900 dollar and then said $150.00 for everything he had chosen to purchase. The second coin was dated 1797 Trade dollar. When we got home the next day, I looked them up for him to check the values. My first clue was when I could only find "Trade dollars" minted in the 1800's. I then dug deeper and found out that it was a fake. After reading information on them, it was suggested to put a magnet to it to see if it stuck. Well, it did! I immediately checked the 1900 coin also. Guess what? Fake also. Lesson learned for $150.00 is always carry a magnet with us and have the equipment you need to verify what you have in your hand. I'm just glad we didn't get taken for any more than we did. Buyer beware is the right phrase for this shop!

After having a not-so-great experience from the other vintage stores in the area, it was good to end on a good note and browse the lovely pieces here. They were all so character-filled and colorful and I can tell the store was carefully curated. Ultimately three of us purchased items, and we just enjoyed chatting with the shop owner and getting her opinion on the pieces.
