I do love this more local place. It's in the corner of a strip mall. Most people wouldn't know it's…read morethere, but it's actually a decent size. I've been here a few times, but most recently took my little one on a Sat. I think there was a bday party or family group that was going on. It' was quite busy with many kids. I don't mind that. But there was only one worker so he was doing rental equipment, and money and giving people rules and getting auto belays that went up and belaying kids. It seemed like too much for one person. We had to wait quite a bit to just check in before getting started. I didn't mind too much, but we were already functioning on a really tight window. I would imagine that guy was stressed out too. I felt bad for him. Hopefully north peak can arrange for more than one person on Sat afternoons.

This is the spot! If you're looking for something to do here…read morein the Reno area only minutes away from downtown Reno this is the place to come. I know there is a climbing gym located downtown Reno right on Virginia Street named Basscamp but this place has way more to offer! They have a lot of top roping and lead climbing available for those that are experienced. They offer bouldering as well too with many routes! I have been climbing in the same for over 10 years and I would recommend it to anybody looking to get started with rock climbing. They offer equipment rentals and they will teach you what to do if need be. Next time you have free time and are looking for something even if you've never done it before check this place out!

Always love me a rock climbing gym! The location is super convenient - right in south Tahoe. Was…read morethrilled to see a gym so close to my AirBnB. They have rope climbs and bouldering. A day session is $25 but they have a cheaper rate for certain drop in hrs so ask if you have flexibility. There is also a sauna which is lovely. The only downside is that it is very small. I went for bouldering only and it's one large room and that's it. It was fine for 1-2 sessions but if I'm a regular, I'd really want a bigger gym with more routes. That said, any rock climbing gym in the community is always a big big plus for me!

Nightlife in Tahoe? Climbing gym :)…read more I love checking out climbing gyms wherever I go, and I thought Blue Granite was pretty good! Disclaimer: this is only based on my one time experience here. The gym is located a bit of outskirts of town but since I stayed a bit out, it was only 5 mins drive. Super cute building sitting in a forest, small parking lot but I didn't have trouble finding parking. Workers are required to give you a tour of the gym and mine was very friendly and thorough. The gym has little touches here and there to make it special. There is a partner board where people leave their information and names, how cute is that? Also, I enjoyed browsing through the climbing artworks they displayed in the hallway. Lastly, I loved how they up-cycled ropes for bathroom curtains. The route settings are fun! Since the wall space is precious, the settings can be compact. Lots of different colors of holds to identify and read. I'd say the grading is somewhat on the same level of Movement gyms in the bay, so slightly harder than the touchstones. The vibe is chill and friendly, not super packed, kids aren't running around, I personally got tired of the music towards the end though, but that was it. I didn't get to try their yoga/Lyra/Dance classes, but it's so cool they offer those especially Lyra or Aerial classes which you may have to pay $40-$50 for in the Bay Area. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful indoor bouldering gym in the middle of Sacramento…read more Parking: free with plenty of spaces in the complex. The facility is easy to find with large signs on the building and entrance. Restroom: generally clean, with 3 stalls per gender and locker rooms available. Soap was not refilled in one of the restrooms during my visit. I've climbed at many gyms before, but this location stood out because of a very strong odor upon entering. It was much stronger than the typical "climbing gym smell." The receptionist mentioned it was likely from climbing shoes. The gym may benefit from improved ventilation and deeper sanitization/drying of rental shoes. Plenty of activity areas: kids climbing section, routes with various difficulty levels, grip exercise area, weightlifting area, cardio area, one ping pong table, bar area, and open seating/storage spaces for belongings while climbing. The routes are color-coded by difficulty: green is the easiest, followed by blue, up to black for the hardest routes. Some gray holds appear to function as safety/additional assistance holds that can be used if needed. They also host college nights with student discounts. Members can bring one guest for free, and rental shoes are $5. Else adult day pass is $30. Overall, a good bouldering gym with lots of amenities and climbing options, though ventilation and shoe sanitation could be improved.
